Thanks for the video man, super helpful. Got an 03 zr2 s10 recently that I'm probably going to redo all the suspension here soon so it was nice to see someone with experience throw some tips around. I did the front end suspension for a 2000 blazer some years ago going in blind and it ended up taking a lot longer than anticipated. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE listen to the man when he says to replace the whole control arm instead of penny pinching doing just the ball joints. Sure they're more expensive but the original ball joints are a bear with those rivets, saves some hassle on bushings also. Grinding the old rivets off top and bottom ball joints on both sides added an extra day of work for an inexperienced DIY backyard mechanic like myself.

good video but theres 1 thing i would never tell others to do, and that is beating on the treads of a new ball joint with a steel hammer, they should use a rubber mallet, or atleast put the nut back on it before smacking it around so that they do not mess up the threads on the brand new ball joint, but other than that great video, i was hoping to see you actually swap the upper control arms from the start but atleast i can see what ones they are, wasnt sure as to what year they went to the bolt to mounts style over the wishbone style that bolted to frame.

Working on a s10 with torsion bars... I can’t get the LBJ out so I’m thinking of just replacing the lower control arm as a whole... Did all you need to do with the torsion bars is loosen that bolt to take the pre load off? Then could you remove the lower control arm? Just want to make sure I’m not missing anything.

Heres a good hint that works wonders on all types of vehicles when working on shocks and suspensions and need a extra set of hands and that is a ratchet strap.Wrap around a shock and cut the supplied band.Use the strap to release or contract the shock exactly as you need to.Makes installing them a absolute breeze. Can use on the suspension too,,wrap around top and bottom control arms and tighten them up,get yours nuts on easy and release..Will make your day so much better,,

Thanks for the great videos! What brand of parts did you buy and from where did you order from? I’m currently searching for everything as well. Also where do you get your torque specs from? Thanks again.

Hey bud I’m working on my 98 S-10 4.3 4x4 front suspension and I’ve got a question about the upper control arm and how is it supposed to ride? Like the little rubber bumper under the arm is bottomed out. Would you please let me know what I’m doing wrong?? Thank you
