My 99 s10 2.2 rear wheel drive doesn't have a cv shaft like you see in all of these videos. I did get m factory rivets out of my upper ball joint though ^^.

A simple trick before installing the ball join is to put it in the freezer (or use can of air upside down right before installing) the night before so it'll shrink oh so slightly and be easier to install. Oh and blast everything the night before with PB Blast. If it's a classic car then PB Blast it a few days in a row before doing the work.
I take this back. dont use PB blast. use half acetone & atf fluid. it's a whole lot better and way cheaper. i use the old atf. and you dont have to wait either. learned this the hard way. used pb blast on exhaust studs. 1st one broke and then the rest came off with ease after the new penetrating oil formula.

O'Reillys said I have to buy the hole lower arm that has the ball joint. That's ignorance out of any auto parts store. But you make it so easy to apply this ball joint. The lower part came off with smooth ease. I have exact same truck and bought a ball joint separator with no luck, still stuck…. Amazing how that came off actually he didn’t even show how it came off

Big hammer on that joint should shock it enough to get it free. Keep spraying with penetrating fluid and using heat. It'll have to budge eventually

I agree - he uses his breaker bar all the time - something I am guilty of not doing and ruining my ratchets. I have to start doing it the right way.

I liked this video , good job. When I was 310s automotive in Scarborough Ontario ,we rarely had blue lockthight sealant ,only had
Red ones for cylinder head bolts etc I think long as bolts are not forgotten to tighten you are okay without sealant s.

Seeing how rusty and corroded all that is… I’m so happy I live in Florida where we don’t salt roads. I’ve had many 20+ year cars and the underside always looked shiny and brand new. I don’t think I’ve ever had to use penetrating fluid for any suspension work I’ve ever done lol

This was a ball joint so that wouldn't affect alignment

Anti seize on the threads here? Mate it's a spline and never use anti seize on a spline as it causes premature wear.Use a lithium based grease on splines...
