Good job. We just used this information on my son's 01 Blazer. Other than a bunch of rust and two bolts then needed to be cut and replaced on top everything went okay. Thank you for the help.
Btw...the Gabriel shocks did fine!

This is a great video. Short and sweet the way it should be. The only thing better would be you coming to do mine
Awesome
Great video
A question, you only put 4 supports on the chassis and it doesn't fall when removing the shock absorber, I want to do it myself, that is, the arm where the front tire goes, good tutorial, greetings
Great video man! Keep up the good work
thank you for watching! I appreciate it
Excellent video!
thank you!
Thank bro for the video
Спасибо вам! Помогли! Успехов вам!
Awesome videos. Can I suggest adding what tools you use in your videos at the beginning or in the description so we know what tools we will need to do the job.
Definitely would like to know what tools are used since I have this repair on my to-do list
I got the same shocks as this video and wondering why the fronts don’t have a cover like the shocks I replaced?
Good video !
Glad you enjoyed it
Fastener
I know it’s an old video but bro you do a great job! Keep it up
Thank you!
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE Your welcome bro. Thank you. I’m just glad I don’t have to take any of the front suspension apart to get to front shocks. Because I would have if not for your video! Thanks again!
Flawless installation my friend!
thank you!
Nice video
Does anyone know what size socket the top 2 bolts take on the rear?
Just to put it out there top two rear cap screws(bolts) 13mm
Liked, subbed, alerted.
Best of luck to you
So just out of curiosity, I'm changing mine because I hit bumps super hard. My car is RWD, should I change all 4 if I'm on a budget? Im thinking I should only change the front two since those ones take the most damage. What do you think? Also, will these make a significant difference in noise?
I would change the front two and later on change the rear since they are simple to remove
Definitely dont have to replace all four at the same time. But always do a pair of them always never do one at a time as thia can cause a uneven rebound on your suspension. Always do either both front or rear.
Thanks for the video.. just wondering is bilstein shocks a better option..?
Yes they are better
Question....what is the socket size you used on the 2 upper rear shock fasteners ? Thank you ❤️
Mine was 13mm 02 blazer 4wd
Good vid, but I have to ask, is it a regional thing where bolts are referred to as "fasteners" ? In the North East we call them bolts. 👍
ill guarantee it wouldn't go that easy for me !
Hey man I need your opinion on how many inches I should lift my blazer
Is this video for a 4 wheel drive Blazer?
Yes
great video, had a question, can you use a slightly larger shock on the truck?
I'm assuming if you found a kit that offers a bigger shock yes but I'm not aware of one that is a oem replacement
Bolt . .... bolt......bolt ...... bolt.... bolts!!!
Got Torque specs ?
are those dextero tires any good ?
What size flex ratchet is that
Fucking awesome..I got my ass kicked last weekend but thanks buddy
What do shock absorbers do
The main purpose of a Shock Absorbers is to limit overall vehicle body movement, or sway.
Absorb shock
If you don't know, you don't need to be on here.
@@subdude1234 Never discourage someone who is trying to learn something.
Quick question. How do I know is time to replace my shocks ?
if they look like they are leaking or if you notice a bouncy ride or poor handling
they’re called BOLTS
How much was it?
For the labor?
That's the kind of mechanic I want to go to honest where is his shop I live in Leon Valley Texas and they are very dishonest mechanics over here on this side that's the truth.
Labeling the video for "4WD only" might have not wasted my time.
Is people really that stupid why are u putting 2wd shocks on a 4wd blazer ?. You realize that if u go off roading that them shocks will be trashed
Uh...the vehicle is 2wd technically or rather rwd to be exact. What makes you think those are rear wheel drive shocks? The fact that it doesn't have a dust shield? You might want to check out what the rear wheel drive front shocks look like ; )
Gabrial is the worst shoks ever
im sure its not the worst
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE how did you know while u still kidd 😅
I used this sins 89s
Your right, but the Gabriel shocks he installs in this video are number 1. I know, been using since the 78s.
@@scottmichaels1764 I used on my gmc blazer for 30years who the fcking are you and ur chines shoks
Back that day was made in USA but now its not
They must not be the absolute worse if they've been making them for 113 years and are still in business. I'm sure they aren't the best overall, but I suppose it depends on how you drive and use your vehicle. If you do 60 down a MMR rutted up road any shock might turn out to be crap after that. If you are 90 years old and only drive 10 miles in a week to the store and back then they may never really experience any wear.
