    Great rifle, ignore all the whingers who moan it's plastic. One thing that was a bit exaggerated was loading/unloading the magazine. Its easy with one hand.

    Another great review...
    It's a fantastic rifle. I've had the standard HW110k (.177) for almost a year now and it's like a laser with JSB heavy. At only £700 (new) I've been very impressed with it. It's exceptionally pointable and the action is incredibly smooth, especially when you add an after-marked biathlon lever from fleabay. I'm able to easily load one-handed; by flicking up the lock with my thumb and feeding the mag in with my fingers. I'm not sure the laminate stock is worth the extra £300 - I've added a cheek raiser kit for mine and chucked a PARD 008LRF on top. It will happily knock over head-shot rabbits at 45/50m from a bipod, and the same at 40m from sticks. It's also a gem around the barns when ratting and getting at corvids and ferals!
    Personally I'd go for the HW100 over the HW110 laminate. If you're spending all that money, I'd want a bit more 'gun' for my money, not just a laminate stock. As far as I can ascertain the HW110 laminate is exactly the same 'gun' as a HW110, but wearing a fancy suit.
    Any way, each to their own 👍
    Go well!
    Rich (Greylag)

      Rich, yes absolutely, the HW110 laminate is just a 110 in a fancy suit. A very nice fancy suit though! 🤣

    Hi, great review of my new rifle with the soft touch stock. cos its a bit cheaper! Re. the cocking lever, it is possible to move it to the left hand side. I know this as Ive managed to move mine over today. Bit of a faff but with patience and a couple of good RUclips vids it can be done. Cheers for the honest review.

      No worries! Love the HW110. Here’s to many years great ownership!

  • @angowT
    @angowT 2 года назад +1

    You may already know this, if so, apologies. At the beginning of the vid you shot it after closing the cocking lever, something I used to do. However, I've discovered that if you just move the lever 1/2 way you can pull the trigger and it will just click ( the gun not being charged at that position) you can then close the lever all the way. I know dry firing is not an issue with these, but it saves making the noise, which isn't much but...
    Good video, I love mine and am about to get the HW44 pistol.

    Hi I do love the look of this gun but don't you think 10.7ftlbs is quite low ? I would expect it to be 11.2-11.5ftlbs. What pellets were you using ? I think I missed what they were weight wise etc.

    • @gardenguns
      @gardenguns  2 года назад

      Hi Jamie. I used JSB Exacts 8.44 and Air Arms Diablo Fields in 8.4 grains. The head size is important in my experience. Different barrels like different sizes. I think this one liked the JSB exacts 4.52. Without watching the video again I can’t quite remember!

    10/10 , Mrs has one and agrees with everything you've mentioned , and your spot on with the magazine loading " fiasco" why oh why didn't they keep it nice and simple like the HW100? .. now , pros & cons
    The HW100 better shot count ( yes there are different variations and calibres which in turn has more or less shot count ) mine ( .20 ) gives a count if around 110 per fill .
    14 shots instead of 10 .. duz that matter? Mat well do
    HW110 wins on length , ideal close quarter .. mind ya , the HW100 aint exactly long ..
    Both great rifles .. im going out on a limb here , my Mrs's is a tad more accurate .. probably due to the fact its .177 .. ( compared to .20 ) that said , on a windy day , with the heavier pellet , the .20 pulls an advantage over a longer range ( 40 mtrs + ) with significant hold over I may add ...
    Interesting vid , nice to see everything you mentioned concurred with the wife ..

      Cheers Mark.
      Always good to hear that the conclusions I make are backed up by those with far more long term experience on these guns.
      I only get the ones I talk about for a few weeks before Phil and Tracey need them back to sell. This is why I don't use review in most of the titles. It is more a a decent first impression.

      Yeah , the power loss issue , didnt want to go into it really , but we bought the rifle HW110 knowing that at some point there WOULD be a power drop , and true to form ( and aided by my FX chrono , Backed up with the chrony F1 ) there was , from an healthy ( when purchased ) 11.7fpe with 11.34 grn JSB heavies .. within a few months had subsided to 8.9fpe ( ish ) ( tried other weight pellets anawl ) nevertheless , this issue was fixed within a fortnight , and now back up to speed as they say , I am however expecting another dip in power , and eventually will have to send it too HW tuning in Nottingham , where they will fix it properly ... still don't regret buying it though , its a superb rifle , and the one you've shown on your channel , could well be one that doesn't loose power ... but it has been a problem , and WELL documented ... surprised weihrauch didnt adressed the problem earlier , that's if the have at all .
