I've had a mk2 tx and two tx200sr's and now have a 97 and in reality, they are all very similar in performance. I think in the end it's down to the fleshy bit behind the trigger. Great review.
When you take into account, to get the 97 upto the tx standard a good drop in kit is required . So that's about 70£ plus labour there goes 100-110£.Now they are not so far apart.
I've had both HW97 & AA TX200HC - my take is that the AA is better out of the box, but the HW with a tune is the best...... however, they are the only 2 rifles that I've sold as I find I ultimately prefer a good quality tuned break barrel. Keep up the great work..always an honest personal opinion.
@@brynybach7741 Hi... I already had a few good quality break barrels to use as a comparison. Mainly HW's and generally tuned by the late Steve Pope (RIP) of Vmach - my favorites being reduced cylinder HW80's, HW98's and a reduced cylinder AA ProElite. These in my opinion are superb rifles and far more convenient to shoot than an under-lever. However this is a very personal preference based on 60+ years of air-rifle shooting😏
I do enjoy your videos Neil, they’re down to earth and honest. Great shooting too. Looking forward to your next post whenever that will be. Enjoy the time with your family and don’t work too hard, you’ve got to save some energy for your next video 😉
Great review, I’m currently shooting a HW77K, a decision based entirely on aesthetics, there’s just something I don’t like about the TX200 stock, and to be honest I really can’t imagine how a TX200 would shoot any better than a HW77 or 97K, so I’m incredibly happy with my choice, however, I may have to satisfy my curiosity at some point and get behind a TX200 (subject to my wifes approval of course).
Good video, it’s all personal when choosing a rifle, when I’d decided to buy a springer I shot loads of different ones from members of my club, and it came down to the TX don’t know why it just felt better. I didn’t want to buy new due to price/depreciation etc so had a long wait searching for the one I wanted. I love my TX and will never sell it, it will be like my grandfather’s pocket watch and passed on 😂
Thanks for another good vid. A good choice I think . Before BAR could no longer export air rifles I had the choice of a new TX or a Prosport and I chose the latter. Its .22. Ive had it short stroked, 10.5fpee ,V mach d, 11.2 fpe, and FACAir Arms at just sub 14fpe. I still cannot after all this time consistently get reasonable groups with it.Probably me, but my CFX gets much tighter groups with far less sffort. Still up for sale but over here its just not got the following it has in the UK. Sorry, didnt mean to turn it into a moan.. All the best Keith
Would love one, if I can save my pennines and one comes up S/H I'd definitely have one...that being said I had loads of fun with a Remington pest controller today 😊
@gardenguns absolutely..a lot of people knock Air Arms over pricing, but they are trying to produce in Britain, something I think has been discouraged more than helped over recent decades, I'm not surprised they cost what they do ,at the end of the day you're getting a very high end springer for less than a good pcp
I just bought a tx200 hc in walnut in canada. Cost was $1250.00 canadian plus 12% tax plus $70 shipping . Beautiful gun is all I can say.
