Brings back memories... used to catch the "Red Hen" train to Bridgewater as a teenager in the mid/late 80's before they closed the station and terminated the line at Belair. Having grown up in a street alongside the railway line near Port Adelaide, I used to see steam locos 520 and 621 make special trips from the Port to the city. Great layout - looks amazing and certainly takes me back 35-40 years. Impressive scratch building and a pleasure to see my home town being modelled in such detail
I lived in Adelaide as a kid . My first trainset was the Hornby Spirit of Progress Set back in the 70s . This brought back many memories - Great set up ... Well Done !
G'day, I enjoyed your Junee video really well done. This is a good one as well. I am glad that you were able to visit the Adelaide Model Railroaders last night and we would be pleased to see you again some time. Cheers Ken
Hi Ken! Thank you for the feedback and also welcoming my visit to the AMR the other night. I will be in touch in due course on when I wish to visit and maybe even do the video there!
From one broad gauge junkie to another thou art a man of class and style. I don't have a lot of interest in non broad gauge Australian railways so it's great to see someone modelling it really well. You're really nailing the look I must say. Pleasantries out of the way, I'd like to invoke my inner gunzel and write an invective on why I hate standard gauge but it would be so full of expletive laden rants that I'll desist on this occasion. Needless to say this layout has eased my disgust of our good Victorian tax payer funded broad gauge locomotives being sold off to private enterprise. Seeing a C class locomotive on the route it was specifically designed for - even in model form is enough to calm the savage beast.
Multiple Options. Out of production Model Design Studio kit, out of production 3d printed body kit on Wombat Models C30T chassis, Ajin/BrassKits Brass RTR offering from the 80s…
Never has a truer sentence been said 11:30 I had to sell my pride and joy, my trains. I had a temp layout in our enclosed back porch whilst waiting to have a 12 metre by 4 metre shed built to house my new layout. To make a long story short the wife decided depart without any warning and wanted half of everything in $$$.....goodbye trains.....Ps I miss my trains more than her, they brought me happiness.
@@Rheilffordd wow, I didn't know you could do that. I went to the model railway show and saw yours but that's was YEARS AGO and my parents think I made it up
Hi Gary, thanks for your feedback! Bridgewater most certainly had three platforms back before it was demolished post-STA days, as depicted in this photograph. www.flickr.com/photos/markcarter/28518232796/in/photolist-Ks4p3U-DeczLv-9D8VLp-9DbQmJ-K2SmBq-9D8VDD-9D8VtV-9D8VAt-mx9mTr-9DbQ61-e1YUH4-mx9n7T-oF731r-mx9Vqt-2mgjuNA-2j9nCmM-2j9nxL4-84RZn2-fzZGZP-adx4Fa-adx4C6-2ixu4WJ-2bq6dpH-9JRahm-2bq6dfV-adzUjo-adzU91-2igc393-mx9V1F-mxbei1-mx9UHg-mxb8xy-mxbes9-mx9nbk-mxbek5-mxbekf-2iM3WLH-pjuvBh-TUmJ1D-2igd6M4-6X3xY2-2mggQR6-2j9nsMb-2dzB6n9-2hHhR5a-2ajtL2y-2bq6d92-kUJ7Qa-kecnkB-kkSxLH
The layout is excellent and good to see you promote Australian modelling, however a few adverse comments, firstly too much footage of moving trains are out of focus , a small example is the 8.28 mark, the 8.57 mark and 11.15 mark, the camera doesn't focus well and lastly the wire wound trees look wire wound, otherwise a good first attempt.
Hi David, thanks for the feedback and completely fair comments. This was the first documentary we made with railway models and admittedly still getting use to it all. We will up our game as the content comes along
Well done Pete, this is something to aspire to
It is a very inspiring layout and modelling standard!

Thanks Richard and indeed our aim of this video was to bring more SA Model Railways out into the open for all to appreciate!
Absolutely amazing. I remember that West End beer billboard!
Awesome Pete! Looks great!
Love the sight of the red hen at bridgewater. I lived at scott creek through the 60's and 70's.
Hi Mike! It’s a classic scene of the former Government railways, much like the 600 Class steam locos climbing the hills!
The SAR Class 520 is beautiful! The entire layout is remarkable too. Surely a labor of love.
Great video Pete, well done team
Thank you for the tour, excellent stuff & the hills scenery is very accurate & realistic.
Our pleasure My Steam!
Congratulations from the UK. Great layout. Familiar with some of the rolling stock from my Trainz simulator.
I love the modeled corrugated iron roof
Oh, wow! Having been stationed at Bridgewater 73-76 it was so very familiar. What a great job.
I’m glad the layout has been reproduced very familiar to you!
Fantastic layout
The layout, the rolling stock, the Crowies shirt, this video is perfect, congrats.
Thanks Zoso, will pass it onto Pete! Check out our other videos while you're here too!

Brilliant thanks for letting us look at what you have done. Always enjoyed looking at the Bridgewater layout at the annual show at Angle Park.
Love it mate! Hi five. Fantastic effort. Your enthusiasm for the hobby is an inspiration. Thank you.👍

I rode the train to Bridgewater once to visit relatives at Mount George.
Fantastic layout and great insight to your progress hope my layout is half as good as that when I finally finish
Remember, this layout started in 2013, 9 years ago. Good things like your layout take time! :)
Awesome, certainly brought back memories
Awesome work Mr. You've got some interesting liveries there and quality sounds.
well done zo
thank you sharing video
I see a crows shirt, I immediately clicked subscribe!
😂
Instantly recognised that first shot, but i did walk up and down that road every day for 10 years
Beautiful spot that Bridgewater is!
(Although the traffic on Mt Barker road gets a little busy at times 😜)

Hallo. Very good video and lokomotivs.
Thank you very much!
This video inspired me to create the "Port Elliot line in ho scale"
By all means! And share with us when you do 😁
@@Rheilffordd I just need to do wiring then its operational
Wow - what an impressive layout! Also, great video. :)
Thank you sir!
Love the Redhens!
They were solid trains for their time, although comfort wise, air conditioning is always good!
I would love to visit Mt. Lofty
Great work and a great video! Would have loved to see blackwood in the middle, but that would just be greedy!
Thanks Ann! A layout of Black... wood be awesome in any scale! 😅
Where did you source your cars and the CFS truck from on the layout?
Do you have plans to do future exhibition layouts
Nice video
Thanks Mccoy!
Very impressive! Just wondering how big your rumpus room is 😅
Excellent work!
I follow you on fb :)
Thanks Izera! Hope to be sharing more content soon!

Love the #520! Is this a Rocky River kit? Great scene Mate!
You will have to add the Auscision Overland to it

Hi JMgmail! Unfortunately not, as this layout is in a private home of the owner featured
Like the one that looks like a 38 class!
Mazda, look up the South Australian Railways 520 Class steam locomotives, they are absolute underrated pieces of

Yes, the track is both OO and HO scale as it’s the same gauge
