Reminds me of the intro to Nameless, by Miracle of Sound (Gavin Dunne), his Planescape: Torment song! This is one of the times when it feels like you've tapped into the heartbeat of something old and wild and lovely. The instrument choices, all the vocal layers, the video atmosphere, it's all perfect.
the way you converted the scream (...closer to the edge, and i'm about to break) in the chorus to a clean vocal harmony is so freaking cool. I love it

This sounds really nice. I like the viking-vibe both the music and the video has. And while this is acoustic it kind of sounds more metal than the original.
But the way Dave is actually standing close to an edge while singing "one step closer to the edge" is both beautiful an terrifying. Beautiful because it visualizes the metaphor of beeing close to the edge so nicely but terrifying at the same time because if I was standing there I would be scared of falling.
I love how you don't just imitate the artist when doing covers.

I love the musical dissonance these guys tap into that they create something that judt shouldn't work, but then it does . I also love that they could sing without accents like most people do if they really wanted to, but instead they really lean into their accents.
I think I might love this more than the original, and that's saying a lot.
