The mandolin solo gave me crazy Balalaika vibes. Not a bad thing, Russian folk is awesome.
This gives the song a different feel. It is almost that cold, calm, calculated, silent anger, slowly brewing inside.

It is funny how A7X got a lot of backlash for their "Hail to the King" album, but the title track is now by far their most popular song (judging by Spotify streams and RUclips views)
That’s actually kind of why there was backlash, a lot of people felt like they sold out (which they didn’t). Personally I like this album but it’s terrible when compared to the three before it.
I remember "real" metal fans saying they sold out around City of Evil 😆
"Hail to the King" may not be as heavy as other albums (lack of The Rev in all), but it's really solid. Shepherd of Fire and Requiem are still in rotation for me.
they threw away melodic part and embraced generic thrash metal sound, it was very bad, the stage on the other hand is a masterpiece
@@cheeseisjar3058 I agree. I felt like it just wasn't as interesting musically, and they needed to really kind of find themselves again after the Rev passed. Idk what else may have changed, but Brooks Wackerman has been an excellent addition, and I really enjoyed The Stage overall.

I always love your acoustic covers, probably more than any other style of your songs, but you managed to give this one a true metal feel even if no electric instruments were involved. Really a great job, I have to say! Oh, and those subharmonics didn't go unnoticed ;)
