This video is very helpful
HAHAHAHAHA! Best intro EVER! :D
Super helpful except for one thing I edit on da Vinci so I have no idea how you do that stuff 😫
Just purchased your LUTS and they are FIRE!!! Thanks!
You obviously are really skilled with video production. But why the heavy emphasis on using presets? Using presets without understanding the process doesn't create better content creators in the end, it just makes them skip the learning process. Your LUTS look incredible, but I wish there was more emphasis put on learning the craft. I think this is why my favourite videos from creators like you are the in depth tutorials. I love improving my skills and learning from pros. I feel like there's a ton of stuff we could learn from you, but a LUT doesn't teach skills.
*leaves harsh comment, buys LUTS anyway, turns out they're actually great, wishes you had a utility pack for the R5.
ooh this is just an ad for his lut pack
Came to learn to color grade but was told to buy luts. Matti is probably one of the most frustrating RUclipsrs, but I can’t stop watching his videos, so clean, and the clickbait works haha, cheers to an excellent RUclipsr that’s both hard to watch and entertaining and likeable all in one
@MIND they're not that expensive, and a good lut isn't that easy to create, not as easy as spending 15 bucks hahah
I’m not sure what I love more: the fact that you’re a great teacher or the fact that you genuinely love what you do. Such a great video, Matti!
Oh man that window entrance in combination with the music! I almost choked on juice. Respect for showing that to the world. :)
😂 life happens right
Man I am loving all these kind of back to basics how to’s. Exactly what I need
🙏🏻
@@mattih what intro song did you use
DUDE! That luma vs sat! That’s going to be a game changer for me! Thanks so much. 🙌🏻🍻
Gosh this channel....I remember when i started out two years ago and was trying to figure out which gear to get for my RUclips channel.
Almost every search I did had a Matti Haapoja video in the results. So I watched one video, then two, then ten etc...eventually i just decided to get an iPhone X, lav mic, tripod and a small cheap light off AliExpress..
This Matti Haapoja channel taught me so many tricks, do's, dont's, how to setup. I cant imagine how much more time i would have wasted trying to figure things out if I didn't find this channel. Ever since then I've been watching your video "almost" all the time if and when i come across any.
Fast forward two years, the channel I started did so well that i decided to start this one to teach the tricks/lessons I picked up.
Keep up the great work Matti. May the good lord bless your handwork and grant you the best of heaven. You rock! Much Love from Ghana🥰🥰
ever since making the transition to resolve, I've really enjoyed the manual grading process, and I think it's something I'd want to do professionally. It really makes a huge difference.
I'm so happy you are doing these videos about colourgrading and LUTs because recently I decided to try to learn how to make videos myself and I'm learning a lot from you. Also, I really like your LUTs 🙂
The kinda video i love watching these days thanks for the upload. Your kids are growing up fast. Bless your family ❤️
Thanks Matti. These are by far the easiest Luts I’ve ever used. New to Sony and always terrified of log but now ready to go. Great job 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧
bro donated money and didn't even get a like my Matti or a reply :/
Just recently bought my first sony a7 iv and this pack is awesome, made my work flow so much easier and eye appealing, thanks Matti!!
Matti! One of the first things i learned when i started piloting drones: when you return home and drone is close to you - turn your drone back to you (not camera facing you). Then your left and right are drones left and right ;) and you will avoid crashes like that one. 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Great advice!
Man I need to get these! The conversion Luts easies up the workflow so much! I'm partly colorblind also so these are going to save my color game so much !! 🤘🏼
Man these basics are what I started watching you and Pete for. Learning from the pros is so helpful. You are a natural teacher. Would love more content like this! Also your secrets on how how you made that window title sequence in After Effects (im guessing XD)
Thanks dude 🙏🏻 😊 I definitely enjoy it
Totally agree
Great video Matti! Love color grading content 🙌🏻 you should do a video where you take subscribers’ footage and grade them with your new LUTs!
I crashed my drone the EXACT same way 😂 Tried flying through the roof window (small gap) and forgot the bottom sensors would kick in… sad times. But hey! Great to see you back on the tutorials Matti, definitely would love to see a lot more useful content like this!
Matti thank you so much for this video. It has already saved me a TON of time and I just shot a commercial for a local business today and I'm editing and it's making things so much easier and quicker. Thank you for the quality and helpful content!!!!
Mike - Im buying a A74 will it have some sort of view assist, or will I be looking at a flat image in the camera.
Incredibly helpful! I’ll definitely be grabbing these luts and start shooting in log moving forward. Thanks Matti!
I can't with your kids. They're precious!!!!! Great video!
Thanks Matti. Simple, but brilliantly explained and laid out. Thank you so much for the explanation and tips.
Just bought the lut pack and WOW! They are fantastic! So easy to use. Makes me want to create more content.
I love the look of this video! The background and lighting seems to be simple!
YES! This is what I needed badly for my vids. lol Awesome job Matti!
I’ve been listening through all the old podcasts and loving your work. Found you through Peter!
Wow man!!! I’ve just downloaded these today, loaded in some log footage and holy hell 😱 I’m going to start shooting in log tomorrow and use these, thanks Matty! 👊
Bought the LUTS last week, can’t wait to watch this!!
Fantastic tips Matti, realising I could make presets was an absolute time saver with my first few projects.
Just purchased the lots tonight and have no idea what I'm doing but ill figure it out in the morning lol. Happy to spend my money with you. The total value learned from your channel in general was worth the cost 10 times over. Keep going bro.
This was the EXACT video I needed today! Thanks Matti! Love it
Great tip with desaturating the shadows, I’ve never thought of that but it makes perfect sense.
I love how simple you always make everything
The Most Needed Video. Thank You So Much Matti. Lots Of Love From Nepal
Matti, thank you for posting this! As someone who's just starting out on youtube, this was very helpful!
I'm a bit color blind so this is honestly the scariest/most stressful part of the process for me - like to the point that I never even mess with it... so THANK YOU! This was legitimately helpful
Hey big dawg. Just watched this video and thought to share it with you. There is a scope that will show us what color our image is made up of. This whole link may be helpful, but I think around 6:00min will be super helpful! ruclips.net/video/tMtM4fyGH70/видео.html
Thanks Matti. The best one yet. Been waiting for this help for using log with my Sony a7siii and a7iv. Shooting log from now on!!
Thank you for the great color Grading tips Matti!
This is great - I've been editing for a number of years and I still learn so much from you. Sometimes it's just those little tweaks that make such a big difference in the overall look. But one thing - do you feel that if people are only using LUTS, they're missing out on how to learn to color? I'm not sure how I feel about that. Sorta like, I drive a stick shift. When I go to a car wash and they find out my car's a manual, they run away in all directions. lol
I agree. LUTs can be time savers but they don't work for every situation and all footage (especially camera systems and RAW vs mp4). Purchased LUTs can be good starting points but should be used to create more customized LUTs for your particular footage and work flow. I use Leeming LUTs but have to modify to to get to a proper correction place. I've tried other LUTs too but again they are not one-size-fits-all tools. And truly learning and understanding color correction, grading, reading scopes, etc. is the best way to get the most out of it.
These videos are made to sell his product. I get it and don't fault him and others for it but this isn't a "how to color grade" video. It's a "buy my product and I'll show you how to use it" video.
Thanks Matti - this helps a lot. You’re a great teacher
Finally, something about color grading ! 😍
Awesome! Thank you for sharing these tips and tricks.
Thanks Matti. Just copped the A74 + wanted to use S-Log3. These luts + audio pack def needed.
Exactly what I needed ! Thank you 😊 🙏🏻
I love color finale for all my color correction.
smoothest drone landing I’ve ever seen 🙌🏼
Thank you for not gatekeeping this bro, real legend
Super helpful video Matti. Thanks for sharing!
I've been using Log profiles for months and I can say it's the best way to do
I no longer feel bad about my drone flying skills. LOL That intro had me on the floor and feeling better, thank you.
Love this! Thanks Matti!
Drone coming in HOT!!!! Thanks for your video G.
It's a really helpful video Matti. Like the tutorial. Appreciate it 🙌🏻
Love it! Thanks for this. I just save so much time!
Thank you Matti! I was wondering why all my editing was kind of muted, I did not know I had to do this conversion step!
Thank you for mentioning that you are going to do Color grading for skin tones. Because hard to achieve a neutral vibrant look for light or dark skin tones. If find that when I use a LUT it makes my skin look too saturated. I can’t wait to see the video and this was dope.👍
Yes please! Colour grading takes me forever!
Great video!! I just finished a video this week for a client using one of your older LUT’s. I wanted to try another very popular SLOG3 LUT first but just couldn’t get the look I wanted.
So went back and started grading again. Converted to REC709, applied the Matti’s Cinema LUT and bam! Looked better than the other LUT and was easier to work with.
Would be great to get version for DJI DLOG as well if you ever get a chance to work on them Matti. My biggest challenge after grading was matching the DLOG to SLOG footage.
Do you have a guide on the exact settings as far as color mode and gamma black level blah blah blah for this log?
OMG firstly cant believe you saved the drone and secondly thanks for saving us sooooooo much time !
you were sooo helpful, thanks!
What a great tutorial mate! thanks!💙💙💙
This works so well!!
I believe the first video I saw on your travel feels channel was about color correcting, TBT 2018? The 2022 office look is insane, congrats Matti.
Amazing luts and I’m so happy you are still using Final Cut :)
Thanks for luts😊
Amazing video. Thanks. A hug from Brazil.
I was literally making a video on things I need to learn this year and proper color grading was one. Then this just happened. Thank you!
Color grading is defnitely one of the things that make or break your footage!
I wish i saw the workflow in premier. Thanks for the video tho! I am still using my favorite lut, the singularity from the travel feels pack i got years ago
Awesome video Matti, thanks for sharing
Man, I came for the lesson, but that opening. Haha showing family + fails (and a little charisma) is the holy grail… next level promo. Imma go check yo luts!
That intro was something :D great vid keep up the good work :)
It’s funny because I love canon and have been using it for years but the Sony 7c has caught my eye! A lot of users said it’s hard to color grade with Sony compared to Canon so I’m glad you created these Luts specifically for Sony users trying to get that Canon color! Before I purchase the package, does your luts work well on colored skin tones as myself? If anyone purchase them and has used it on colored skin tones please let me know, thank you 😊
Well I bought the LUT pack. I’m stoked about this video as well as the other and figuring out how to implement this into my workflow.
I’d asked your advice on when to switch to SLOG and you said now so I took your advice & switched my camera to S-Log3 ->S-Gamut3.Cine -> Saturation +15 -> Level -1
You’d suggested S-Log2 due to 8 bit & A7C so if going to S-Log-3 is a poor choice please let me know. I probably need to watch both of these videos a 3rd time & take some notes 🤣 Thanks!
Ok the drone landing made me a little uneasy, flashbacks to my crashes I guess.
I really love the way you work
Love from india ❤️
It helps me a lot ❤️
Keep creating 🔥🔥🔥
Got the LUTS, might use them, might not...but i wanted to support in some way. Great work Matti, keep them coming ;)
thanks for your tutorial from japan!!
I love this, thank you!!
The dron part!!! hahaha gonna play with your luts this days, order ir on the weekend
Awesome video thanks for this.
Great video. Thank you!
Just purchased. Thanks Matti :)
Brilliant video, thanks. Subscribed.
what i didn't know was how those layers in color grade are supposed to be. I've always thought the color correction (lut) is supposed to be on the bottom then color grade is on top. that's soooo good to knw.
Thanks. you're such an inspiration 💯💯💯
Really great tutorial 👍
😂 glad you left the drone crash in. Love the look of the lut pack, just about to buy ✌️
Very helpful and kid is awesome!
Love the tips Matti! Cant wait for the skin tones video.
Do you do a custom white balance in camera for all the shots or try to adjust in post?
Love the content!!
I just used this song too. It’s GREAT!!
Thank you. And thank you for your years of experience figuring this all out…so I don’t have to. 😉👍🏼
I'd love to see how you decide to adjust your camera settings when shooting log so that the footage becomes easier to edit. I find that I tend to blow out my highlights way too much
For the longest I was fighting to use luts. I Do use them now for my slog footage.
LUTs Are Just better than me 😩😩😩😩🤪
Great tutorial man, thanks bro
Thanks for this video. Magical Intro. 🖐
Hey Matti love the video, hope you do a Final Cut tutorial in the future. Good Job keep growing Matti, you and Peter are the BEST!!! 😉😁
Hey Matti, great vid! Will be testing these luts out, any chance you could make a video for how to shoot in Slog3? Exposure, ISO, expose for subject vs. background etc... thanks!
Cool! Thanks for sharing it. ✌️
Extremely helpful 🙌
Excellent video thanks :)
