@@DogusMD It works for me. I use it for walking tours, and hiking trails. Have even used it to record a wedding ceremony. If you speak close to the unit, the sound is just as good as with the bluetooth mic.
Good summary of some of the key settings. I'd recommend anyone new to the camera to explore the settings for the internal mics. You have three modes - front, front and back, and "all", and for each of those you can specify mono or stereo, wind noise reduction, and (as you mentioned) level. Each setting is good for particular scenarios. Use "front" for vlogging (by "front" it means "whichever way the lens is pointing" so if you use the selfie mode, "front" will mean the mics are pointing towards you and picking up less of the surrounding noise). Front and back might be good for interviews. And "all" is great for immersing the viewer in the full surround sound, for nature or travel video.

Thank you.
Thanks for the video. Learned a lot more about using the Pocket 2. You talked about an audio adapter at the end. For external microphone(s). Which do you use? Thanks ahead. Greetings, Onno. (From the Netherlands)
Yep, the Pocket 2 does have a zoom feature, to be honest it's not that great. In the settings you have the option of having the joystick control the pan and tilt or it can control the zoom, just switch the setting the zoom. To be honest it's not great as it is a digital zoom so if you zoom in too much it will affect the quality, much like a phone zoom. Good luck.
I got my Pocket 2 in the Creator Combo after my experience with the older OP. DJI do give a fair deal in their packages and the savings are sweet, but in the case of the Creator Combo, I’d go so far as to say that you’ll get the 2 most wanted Pocket accessories out there and that’s the Wireless Mic and the Do-It-All handle. These 2 items more than made up for the price difference. It’s enough to get me into the RUclips gadget review game😄
Hey Dave. Great video. A lot of familiar places in your B roll. You live in centertown? I have the same camera and run/walk where you were shooting every day!
I do use ND filters when I shoot time lapse, you can adjust the settings, shutter as you like, or you can use auto mode. The Pocket 2 allows you to set all your settings for time lapses.
great footage and review! will definitely be getting this soon. I love my bigger cameras but this would make it easier to travel and also go on hikes with. the image quality is astounding for such a little thing.
You are correct, that's why I love this camera so small, light and easy to use. Perfect for hiking and travel. I did a hiking video with the Pocket 2 and the Sony a6400 and they worked really well together. I am going to try a camping video only using the Pocket 2. Good luck if you get the camera.
You really did convince me about the ND Filters. I know you said that they are not a MUST but you strongly encourage them. I have noticed a big difference in my footage when I started to use ND Filters. I bough a set of the cheaper ones but they seem pretty good. I think you said you use Polar Pro filters? Have you tried the Freewell filters?
Hi Jake, ya ND filters will really help your image. I have the Polar Pro ND filters but I just received a set of ND filters from Freewell, I am excited to test them out and do a review on them.
I just bought a second hand Pocket 2. thanks for the tips. I think the battery is really bad on the 2, especially if you have the wifi/mike handle attached to it. I notice that the battery is even drained if you don’t use it at all. I like to have a pocket with me all time, but I would love for the battery to last a bit longer. I also love to shoot timelapses and I did one timelapse will a full battery and in less than an hour I had to stop the timelapse. I use my Pocket also to shoot the sky, because the 2 still has the 8 second exposure possibility. The Pocket 3 would be a better choice for normal use, but it has this stupid max 1 second exposure. WHY??? Sure hope the 4 will have the 8 seconds or more again :( Oh and another thing, most times the 64 mp sucks. It’s so grainy. The 16 mp is the better choice I think.
Thank you Dave for the very detailed and informative video! I just received my Pocket 2 yesterday and looking forward to shooting with it! Do you have and good tips for nailing the white balance settings? Thank you!
Congrats on the new camera. I would suggest using the auto white balance to start off, it is actually pretty decent. if not you can use the manual white balance but you really need to know what you are doing otherwise you may screw up the white balance. I hope that helps.
@@DavidDavies Thank you for the quick response. Yeah I definitely don’t know what I am doing in that regard haha, so I will put it on auto for now. It does help knowing that the cam does a good job with that. Thanks again!
Hey Dave! Sorry, another question for you. I recorded a POV walk in NYC last night that was over an hour long. When I checked out the ftg on my computer, instead of 1 seamless file, there are several files all spilt at 4gb. Have you had this issue and do you know if there is a work around? I have been researching this online and can't find a fix. People are saying that you can merge the clips in the editing programs that they use (I use Premiere Pro) but that there is a drop in the audio between each clip. So annoying! Please let me know if you are having the same issue and if you have a solution? Thank you!!
Great overview video! 👍Just got one of these and still working through the settings. Can you tell me if there is an option to switch from slow mo to normal speed in real time like you can on an iPhone? So far I can only see one mode or another. Thanks for the comment, I don't think the Pocket 2 has that options. I wish it did. I can get that look by adding a speed ramp in premiere pro but I can't do it in the camera.
Thanks Barry. I would use 2.7k if I was shooting something for a long time and I needed the storage space or if I edit on a computer that cannot handle 4k footage. Generally if I can shoot 4k I will.
I find that you just have to walk slowly with the Pocket 2. I try to make all of my movements as smooth as possible. Also shooting at a high frame rate, 60fps then slowing down the footage really makes the footage look smooth.
