It is a good product but unless you have 5 guns to coat its way to expensive almost 100 bucks for 1 kit? For one single gun is not a good deal especially considering once you activate the can its only good for 48hrs
@@arthurc4531 who has 5 guns laying around that need to be recoated at the same time? Unless your a gun smith or a huge collector the price for this kit is just not ideal
This is actually pretty good. After ten years the wear and tear is better than I would have imagined. I’ve seen guys paint their slides with aerosol spray paint from auto zone and the paint wears off with in a year.
Although we had a MUCH limited amount of quality options, Bowie Tactical Concepts and a Trijicon RMR was THE set up. That history is why they are EVERYWHERE today. Progress is always slow.
@@jaxfernandez3684 Because light holster wear from thousands of reps on a stainless steel slide doesn't really need it. That gun has "earned" that appearance as a real tool that I use as a professional. I don't own any "safe queens." Everything in the collection has a purpose and does work.
@@TrainWithWillis Look, I get it-light holster wear can give a gun character, but Cerakote isn’t about avoiding that or making a safe queen. It’s about protecting your gun from corrosion and extreme conditions, making sure it performs for thousands more rounds. Just because a gun has earned some wear doesn’t mean it can’t benefit from a coating that makes it more durable and reliable. Cerakote enhances its life as a working tool, not a safe piece.
@@jaxfernandez3684 Ok friend, its obvious you don't know much about who I am, who I work with, or how obviously familiar I am with these products. I'm a professional firearms instructor and spend most of my life on the gun. I'm clearly aware of Cerakote and its purpose.
Looks like my carry pistol all kind wear on my pistol alot of miles on my pistol I'll keep on carrying her she's not pretty anymore but she still shoots.
I think the wear makes it look even better. It gives it a battle tested look.
For something you can do yourself, Duracoat is a great product.

Definitely way better than rattle can. I'll save that option for rifles. For a DIY solution, it's a great option.
Didn't know optic cuts and forward read sights were a thing 10yrs ago.

This has held up pretty well.
Great video. That stipple job is killing my ocd tho.
Great review. Just out of curiosity, did you spay the underside as well? Thanks...
The real question is, how's it holding up to gun oil and cleaners?
Thanks
I didn't know that they made that model of smith and Wesson 10 years ago.
Send it in for cerakote! 😃
Why?
@@TrainWithWillis now that the old coating wore off… why not, right?

Nice stippling smh.
That is some disfunctional shit for real. This slide does double duty with another on a properly stippled frame with better trigger.
