Story number two: the fact that the brother felt entitled to treat his sister like that shows that he’s been favored for years. He’s immature. He’s taking out his anger on an innocent person. His mother was OK with it. That mother Has raised a real POS.
If someone who keeps investing time into marriage talk and taking things THAT seriously for 4 years says “gimme a few more months” when you propose? Nah, she’s guilt as charged
Her husband is a keeper and her brother shouldn't badmouth his sister whether his problem is. It's not his sister's fault but his own. The parents are morons 🙄
S1 - well...I don't know if there was an affair...but clearly OP was more into his GF than she was into him. Not a good balance. Better for both to just move on. Either OP is delusional or GF is stringing him along.
Same thing happened with my cousins husband and her brother. He beat him up in front of his family. Us being Egyptian, the brothers family stood by and let it happen. The husband's number one priority is to protect his wife's life and reputation, even from her own family. Funny as hell when it happened.
Story 1: No firm evidence of cheating, but it sure is suspicious that she needed a couple months. Like OP said, why did she need a couple months? Accepting a proposal doesn't mean you have to get married within a certain timeframe; an engagement can last for years, so why would she need a couple months before she could say yes? Because she was seeing someone behind OP's back and if she accepted the proposal they would have to go public with it, which would complicate things with the AP and everyone who knew about the affair. The AP might not even have been aware that he was an AP, she might have hidden it from him.

Husband did exactly what a real man should do!!! Protecting his wife

S2: Yup, a weak man. The mother is angry at the son-in-law cuz he makes her ashamed of her husband
Story 2 husband is the EXACT kind of man I wanna be. Buddy stands on complete business bout her.
