I've been meaning to suggest this for a while... _Little River Band._ They were popular in the 70s and 80s, kind of a mellow rock sound. Some of their hits include "Cool Change", "Lonesome Loser", "Help Is On Its Way", etc... but the one I think you'll really enjoy is "Reminiscing." It's about an elderly couple looking back on how they fell in love during the 40s, dancing to Glenn Miller tunes... Lovely melody with a nice groove. I think you'll dig it. Anyway, thanks for all the good times. Keep 'em coming! ;-)

They wrote this and Too Much Heaven in the same afternoon, and later that same evening wrote Shadow Dancing which became a #1 hit for their brother Andy.
My mom showed me her kind of music she heard growing up. The Bee Gees were one of them. Thanks to her I LOVE the Bee Gees and THIS song is my FAVORITE of theirs.
No auto tune. No computer. No drum machine. No click track. Real talent playing musical instruments. With hits for forty years. RIP. And thank you for beautiful music.
I’m pretty much obsessed with the Bee Gees I’ve been watching a lot of behind-the-scenes interviews with the brothers and the mom and the dad. They are so talented! Here’s a cool story that came from the mom. When the twins were two and Barry was four they were in their bedroom and the mom thought that the radio was on and told him to turn the radio off and it was the three of them harmonizing together when they were supposed to be sleeping. True story.
Jamel, one of my most vivid childhood memories is when we had a small boat and it broke down and we drifted all over the lake through the night. Our whole family and a neighbor kid were on board. This song had just been released and was on high rotate on the radio, which was our only link to the outside world. My parents kept hearing it and feeling responsible and started to stress that there was going to be a tragedy. My dad couldn't listen to this song for the rest of his life. I just bought my first ever boat on an online auction, and this was the very next link I clicked. Everything works out in the end. Thanks Brother.
The Bee Gees perform and a smile appears on my face. I love them and I miss them. Tragedy is one of my favorite songs. There's a video of them taping and developing this song it is worth a watch. Barry may you have a long and successful career. Greenfields is an outstanding album. Love you Barry.
They were fabulous. They were young when they wrote and performed this. To have such conflicting ideas the beat the desire to get up and dance but the words are talking about a tragedy a personal tragedy. They were musical Geniuses and sometimes they are not given the credit for how excellent they were. When you sit and listen and analyze their music You Come Away with wow that is over the top. Fanny be tender is another one Too Much Heaven is another one just way too many to list. The world will not see another group as talented and diverse and exceptional as the Bee Gees. Love them very much and I miss them.
"Tragedy" was originally recorded in 1979. This video must be from around 2000. It is a good version but not the best. You should listen to some of their earlier stuff like "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart," "I Started a Joke," "Run to Me," or "Massachusetts." That is all pre-disco.
The BeeGees have written SO many songs for MANY artists. A lot of times they are playing songs they wrote for other people. Also the album for Saturday Night Fever was written by them super quickly. I saw a program about them.
When I was 2 years old my mom found me playing my dad's One Night Only CD on his car. Bee Gees are just amazing and tbh I never realized I knew so many songs by them. This one is among my favorites.
The Bee Gees had a whole other career and sound prior to their move to the disco era. Check out some of their older classics such as "I've Gotta Get a Message to You," "I Started a Joke," "Massachusetts," "New York Mining Disaster" and "To Love Somebody."
One of my favorite songs by The Bee Gees is "Edge of the Universe", which features Robin's voice more and rarely gets mentioned. I would love to see a reaction to it. I don't find where anyone has ever done that one yet. I was one of the few people in the 1970's who would admit that I loved their music, and still do.
The original was done in 1977. It’s part of the Saturday Night Fever Movie Soundtrack album of 1977. They wrote every song on that album. The song Staying Alive is also on that with other gems. This song has always been my favourite Bee Gees song.
They wrote a song called "Heartbreaker" that Dionne Warwick performed and they sang backup on. Really great early 80's song. You can hear their version as well, but Dionne's was the hit.
@@bobbierobinson6269 I saw them live in Birningham, Alabama in 1979 on the Spirits Having Flown tour. Great album anchored by the glorious Tittle Track, Spirits having Flown. Children of the World still their best album, top to bottom though.

You need to see some of their earlier stuff... and their later stuff, after the disco era. Earlier... I STARTED A JOKE, Massachusetts, I'VE GOT TO GET A MESSAGE TO YOU Later... For Whom The Bell Tolls, Wedding Song, Guilty, This is Where I Came In, Alone And this is just the tip of the iceberg!
Absolutely brilliant writing. They took one of the more poignant breakup songs and made it _work_ as a dance number. For something a bit more upbeat, I'd recommend "Too Much Heaven", "More than a Woman", and "How Deep is your Love."
Tragedy - My mom just called me to notify me that one of my good friends from back home (NYC for those who don't already know) just died. Today. He lived just downstairs from my mom, in the same building. His liver and kidneys failed. He left behind a wonderful wife, about 5 kids and a couple of grandbabies. It's a sad day. She also told me that the wife of a good friend also passed today. I didn't know her too well, but I did know her, and her husband is an amazing, sweet man, who lost a leg to Type 1 diabetes before I left for California. The youngest brother (Andy) passed first an this was a Tragedy to the family. Then the twins passed Robin and Maurice and the oldest Brothers Gibb is still with us at 74. Loving the memories
that voice playing and simple has to just be a gift from God because I don't see anybody else doing it I mean there's people that sing high there's people that sing along there's people that sing in the middle but he's got as good a range as anyone I'm seeing he can sing middle to low in his regular voice and his falsetto can go tremendously high so what can I tell you.
My favourite BeeGees song is "Spirits Having Flown", which came out around the same time as "Tragedy". Well worth checking out. By the way, the older guy in the interview at the end of the video was Sir George Martin, one of the UK's top music producers, who produced almost all of The Beatles' music.
