I saw a large number of concerts in the 70's and 80's. Frank Marino and MR I saw in 1978. One of the top 3 concerts I ever witnessed. A true master who just mesmerizes a crowd. I was transfixed the whole concert. .
He had the American tour planned. So I emailed him and asked if he was touring Canada. He got back to me quicker than my kids lol and said he was. Sadly he had to retire. Loved him since the very beginning :-)
i saw him way back in the 1978 at the Cal-Jam 2 he blew my mind with being a little Jimi Hendrix n Robin Trower Blend..but his voice and melodies were steller live.

This has to be slickest, classiest rock song I've heard in a long long time. That crescendo solo, it's intense but very lean, minimalistic. It's very very tasteful, mature. Not to mention the gritty devil in the main riff. I am new to Frank Marino. But I've listened to this now 500 times and it just doesn't get old.
I think I was about 19 or 20 years old when I was first introduced to Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush, my best friend at the time gave me the album, ‘Tales of the Unexpected’. I was astounded by the guitar work and I was hooked! And you’re still just as genius on the superb leads that blend and compliment your songs. Thanks for letting me re-live those days of the late ‘70s!!! Frank Marino you are one of my favorite artists/songwriters ever!
I'll never forget we were that impressed by Frank Marino and the Mahogany Rush that we absolutely had to cover the 1976 song 'The Answer'... if interested check out 'Sensomania - The Answer' on RUclips.
Thanks Kurt for what you said this guy is one the best, he doesn't follow anyone else he is just Frank Marino and I'm grateful for that because he is Amazing.
It's disheartening to witness an artist of such caliber being overlooked and not receiving the acknowledgment he undeniably deserves. Frank Marino's contributions have not only shaped the sound of rock and blues but have also inspired countless musicians worldwide.
Pressing like doesn't due this justice. This guy is the essence of guitar rock. From the tone on that guitar, his smooth playing, cool voice, and the well-seasoned leather! One of the greats in my opinion. Gotta enjoy him while he's with us. He's not getting any younger. Peace.
Frank kept his music the way he wanted, and the way I wanted. He didn't bow to record labels pushing him to go pop like Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Journey, REO Speedwagon and countless other went.
I got to see Mahogany Rush at a Diamond Head Rock Festival, in Waikiki, around 1973. At the time, everyone was comparing Frank Marino to Hendrix, but his style was distinctive. That's just how creative and progressive Marino's sound was at the time.
What a legend! So greatt to see and hear this - used to soak in his playing in tiny clubs here in Ottawa/Montreal. Truly a genius in our time. His live Norwegian Wood is so magical. Also blessed to have had the good sense to take three bass guitar lessons from their bass player Paul Harwood. His super fundamental intro to bass playing made a huge impression on my little 16 year old brain. Treked a long way downtown to his apartment on Guy Street. He used a tobacco sunburst Precision (70's?) that was a sister to Franks burst Stat. At one lesson the guitar and bass were side by side and I almost had a heart attack! I did not have the guts to play the guitar but to this day, after trying 1000's of others, that P bass was the sexiest playing bass I ever had in my hands.
So damn good. The Agora in CLV??? How did I kiss this show? Talk about an artist that never got his fair share of respect. Total hidden gem that needs a resurgent like asap!
I saw Frank for the first time in Orlando ca. 1978 at a "Super Bowl of Rock" show, headlined by Aerosmith with Cheap Trick, Blackfoot, Nugent, etc. It was like a 12 hr stadium show and Marino came on just after dark. He was easily the highlight of the entire show, guitar wise, mesmerizing the crowd for a long set. Great to see him sounding even better in 2022!! ❤

This is a great example in how to construct a guitar solo: patience; an ode to the melody of the song....then tear loose with the bluesy swagger....just a fantastic...amazing guitarist. I have probably 40 guitar students; I doubt any know who he is....and that's a travesty.

I gave all my albums to my niece about 15 years ago, she's 35 now,. the only song she asked about was this song, and it was a big collection,. Love you Frank !!
Saw Frank play in both the late 70s and early 80s. The most intense live lead guitarist I have ever seen on stage. Over half his set was all instrumental every time I saw him. Mahogany Rush's rhythm section was as intense as any during the entire era. The live album from the 1970s. Such great memories. Seen him play live at least half a dozen times. Each time he brought it. Combination of extreme distortion, flanger, chrous, analog delay and a wah pedal wired to blow the roof off and extremely loud! I've seen all the great ones and Frank Marino is second to no one live on stage! The medley of Who do you love, solo, electric reflections of war and the World Anthem is a must hear for any fan of extreme live music tour de force insane lead guitar fan.
Amazing guitarist, songwriter and great singer and very cool guy in interviews. Unlike many other Rockstars Frank never 'sould out' he kept his integrity. Hope you get well Frank God Bless you and yours!
Saw him in concert early 2000s Indianapolis, that is when I became a fan . He did not disappoint, To say that he was Exceptional Lead guitarist would be a understatement. His music was not in the mainstream! Great playing live even if you never heard all his songs.
Kudo's to Frank for his vocals. He was nailing those high notes after all these years. Also, the drummer did a fine job with the song. It isn't easy following a drumming great like Timm Biery. Great job guys!
Beautiful song, beautifully sung, beautiful arranged, beautifully played. Saw Frank at Rock and Roll Heaven in Toronto. Belongs in Rock Hall of Fame. Kudos to all the band members keeping it tight.
I got to see Frank & Mahogany Rush live in the early’80s and it was a transformative experience!, particularly as a budding guitarist. Land of a 1000 Nights is it! The way the guitar just screams in the opening… 😳
I had heard Mahogany Rush on the King Biscuit Flower Hour on the radio late one night when I was a spry young man and was mesmerized. The next day I drove to our local record store aptly named Licorice Pizza and found the Strange Universe album and after listening to the music from beginning to end it changed my life completely. My next purchase was the Juggernaut album which also amazed me. Frank just doesn't disappoint.
Such a coincidence. One of very few strange dreams from last night have haunted me all day. In my dream I met a very old friend who took his life many years ago. He told me in my dream that he would come back, but he never did. And now in the evening I stumbled on one of my absolute favorite Frank Marino song. Beautiful piece of music.
This is amazing! I have played guitar for over 45 yrs and Can`t even comprehend how he sings the notes like he does at 70. This is an old man singing like he was 20. You think your a bad ass because you can play fast? Forget it. This blows away all guitar players of any age. Do this and I will retract my statement.
Amen and the fact is ha can play fast but he has such a great knowledge of the guitar he can play anyway he wants and it's just beautiful. I love me some Frank Marino!!!!
Just had this track on repeat in my theatre room on a nine foot screen and was absorbed by the words and guitaring absolutely fantastic brought a tear of delight to my eyes god bless this marvel of a man.
There was a period around 76 and 77, when Frank was the “baddest dude” on the planet - around the Frampton era, before the EVH phenomenon - I was right there for it as a youngster trying to learn to play - truly a beautiful time for great players and great music
All of the light traveling to the earth at the speed of light since the dawn of time would never in forever equal Franks talent.See ya in the land of a thousand nights brother.
I had second row tickets for him when his show was coming to St. Louis. I have been a Marino fan since the 70's and was so excited. When I heard he had to cancel I was devastated. I understand though, his health comes before my happiness, and I wish him the best of recoveries if that is possible. Hope you are doing better Frank, miss you man!

Mr. Dave Goode on the drums!
Not just a brilliant guitarist but a very good singer. Shame he cannot play live anymore.
What happened?
Great Song Frank your music Sounds awesome Live Never Got to see you, your influence carries on
Such a coincidence. One of very few strange dreams from last night have haunted me all day. In my dream I met a very old friend who took his life many years ago. He told me in my dream that he would come back, but he never did. And now in the evening I stumbled on one of my absolute favorite Frank Marino song. Beautiful piece of music.
Right on Frank. Your music always leaves me in a better place. 🤘😎
Can't count how many times I've listened to this song in the last week. This version.
Same here
Plus Something's Coming our way
☮️
Been a fan since I heard “Mahogany Rush Live”when it was released in 76’ or 77’! Frank is STILL simply fantastic!
Wishing him nothing but the best.
A major guitar influence!
ONE OF FRANK'S BEST.
I was just watching this Blu-ray thinking, I wish they would upload another song 🎵 from this fabulous 6 hour collection ... and presto, here it is!
My favorite guitar hero. 🎸
All of the light traveling to the earth at the speed of light since the dawn of time would never in forever equal Franks talent.See ya in the land of a thousand nights brother.
Growing up in Little Rock I was the only one of my group of friends that had his albums.
Frank marino.always fantastic. Always will be. Thats just the way of it.
I'm so very fortunate to have seen him play and still remember the concert ,that was in 1979 I think in New orleans at the Warehouse
I remember this tune, I grew up in Toledo, 60 miles South of Detoit/Windsor.
