He was so underrated that he got bushels of flowers from Johnny Winter, Eric Clapton, Joe Bonamassa and many others. Saying Frank was underrated is a disservice to him. The main players know who he is and was. That’s all that matters.
I've witness his brilliance first hand in the early 70's. One of the reasons I use the word brilliant, is because I saw him change a string during a performance, all without missing a beat. Brilliant, Yes. He stands against the music industries compromising demands. For that he is relatively unmentioned and relegated to the background of their supposed great guitarists. But those of us that watch carefully and objectively, Frank Marino is truly one of the best innovative guitarists of all times. I continue to pray for his health and well being. God Bless you Mr. Marino and thank you for all that you have done and continue to do!
Frank Marino is my all time favorite period! I'm a heavy metal guitar player . The first time I seen him live he blew my mind WOW! God bless you Frank Marino I'm praying for you! Robby Faulkner,
Lord take care of you Frank! You are my brother which I will meet you one day when we have all the time in our future lives to talk and play. Until then, I wish you and yours good health, which I know is enormous. Prayers go out to you. ❤️
~1969. San Jose, CA 'Be In.' Big line-up of S.F. Bay Area bands---Jefferson Airplane, Country Joe, etc. Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush take the stage. We remember little of that day 🤪 ...but we distinctly have never forgotten Frank and the band launching into 'William Tell Overture.'
This is an unusually good blues song for a rock guitar player. Most can play blues licks but cannot put together meaningful melodic solos that can move you emotionally. That is when you are really playing the blues. When the tears are falling your playing the blues.
His phrasing is flawless. The way he leads you from one chord to the next. I’m definitely gonna work on learning some of his phrasing. I’d love to see him put out some instructional videos. Frank you’re the best! I’ve been listening to you since the 80s. Thanks for posting.
I was hooked on Frank since the mid ‘70’s, ever since I bought “What’s Next” , a great lp with Roadhouse, Something’s coming, Finish line and actually, they’re all great. My homeboy from Montreal, ……when history looks back at the great, iconic rock/blues guitarists, Frank will be there, next to my #1 blues guitarist of ALL TIME, Rory Gallagher. 🇨🇦👍
At a theater in Athens Georgia (early 2000's), you autographed my red "Duff Beer" baseball cap. I asked for you to write "John, Never Give Up" which you did, and then added your signature. I still have and treasure it to this day, and treasure that l was able to see you live and meet you in person that awesome evening. When l asked you to sign what l asked, it was about not giving up on guitar playing, which l was strongly considering at the time due to drastic changes of all kinds in my life, but particularly because of highly diminished physical playing facility. I'm not sure why l'm writing this except to say that on my own small level l think that l can relate a little to what you're going through physically (and to my own small degree how that effects one emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually when playing guitar is probably one of the few things in one's life that one never, ever, had a "f*ck you, make me" attitude towards lol) at present, and would like to return the sentiment that you wrote for me back to you: Never Give Up, Frank. Thank you for this release, it's wonderful, and just know that many, many people love you and are praying for whatever will help you overcome whatever is ailing you. Myself included. Love and prayers, in Jesus's Blessed Name, flowing towards you man! Take care...
Great bud, I've seen frank a few times soo stupid of me to not get anything signed. Once I was beside him in a phone booth next to rock and roll heaven and kick myself for not asking for a sig
Thank You Mr. Marino And I also thank each one of us, all of us who are his Fans. Frank does what he does for all of us, we are indeed Blessed to be here at this time along with him.
Saw him at Massey Hall in Toronto in the mid 70's absolutely fantastic. Bought most of him albums...loved Child of the Novelty....Thanks Frank, You are the most underrated guitarist in the world. In my opinion, you are one of the top five!
Never heard this before, but found myself finishing the words before I heard them ⁉️😵💫🤩🤔cool slow blues with a touch of jazz thankyou for playing real music 🎶💥🔥😎✌️

Ladies and gentlemen will you welcome Mahogany , mahogany, mahogany, Rush, rush, rush… lol. Frank is one of the great rock ‘n’ roll guitarist ,a man who could sing and play guitar. Frank also has a great band as well ,Awesome ……Keep on rocking Frank.
Frank was my inspiration to play guitar an retire the bass in high school, it took sneaking into just 1 show at 'The Chance' in the early 80's! King Bee was one of my early pieces I learned so I Thank You! I had my tix couple yrs ago to see you there again before the fkn pandemic. I really hope to catch another show one day!! All the best brother...
Just a beautiful little jazz-tinged blues from one of the best to ever plug into an amp. When they carve the Mt Rushmore of guitarists Frank is gonna be right next to Jimi. Just keep livin' Brother, and thank you for all the decades of wonderful music and astonishing guitar.

He was so underrated that he got bushels of flowers from Johnny Winter, Eric Clapton, Joe Bonamassa and many others. Saying Frank was underrated is a disservice to him. The main players know who he is and was. That’s all that matters.
Damn! Frank's as good today as he ever was. Maybe even better!

Well said. I saw him in the early seventies also. A down to earth great man of music. A true master.
Couldn't have said it better myself! His body of work speaks volumes about his greatness!

This guys guitar playing has been blowing my mind for decades. Very few blues guitarists compare.

Just as Frank has grown as a musician, my sound system is now the best I've ever heard just so I can be more appreciative of his wondrous licks!
Missed two shows he had to cancel due to health reasons and now I know I've missed seeing hearing and loving another great bluesman
Tone for day's !! love the vox too Frank Mar !!

Was at that show, my buddy Mick Lane on the "other" guitar, with Frank in top shape that evening!
