    From personal experience, the roadster is actually not too bad in the winter, temperature wise. I do like the crisp air with the roof down in December so maybe that is just me being odd. Best A/C in summer is the switch at the back on the centre console. Drive it fast, just put on some suncream and jobs a goodun. Great comparison Dom!

      Haha love that explanation mate, I got caught out the other day as of course if it’s not raining the roof goes down. Got on the m1 and half way through my journey got dark, then started spitting then was in the reduced speed but with no pull in area.

    I've got the roadster fitted with the hard top atm. Best of both worlds. Toasty warm in the winter with the hard top and nice and cool in the summer with the roof down. The other thing to note is that the front subframe on the roadster is different with additional bracing to provide rigidity..

      @@TheParrottBros Interesting, thank you for taking the time to reply to my comment. Your videos have been a godsend for me getting up to speed with my car. Even though mine is going on 20 years and 200k miles I still love it and have only had it for 2 weeks. I don't plan on doing anything for a while as my car is completely stock atm but do you have any recommendations for turbo upgrade paths on 225s? I plan on rebuilding the engine first with new rods as people seem to be in agreement on that but everyone seems to have a different opinion on which turbo to put in. Some people swear by frankenturbo some say its crap, some say big turbo but don't really elaborate. I'm looking for something that isn't crazy laggy but could maybe still hit 400 brake if I wanted to push it that far. Just trying to collect information so I can make a reasoned and informed decision when the time comes.Might be a good topic for a video if you haven't done one about it yet. Cheers!

    Excellent! That trim on the roadster door as actually part of the hard top fitting kit trim, it’s designed to compliment the strip that goes around the back of the hood that the hard top sits on - that car must have had that at some point I’m guessing!

    Another great, informative guide. Thank you Dom. I have a couple of roadsters (150 & 3.2 dsg) very different cars to drive but both are fun as well as a couple of coupes, all 1.8s. The coupes are a far better everyday car but...The thing I would say about the roadsters is that on the motorway with the roof down it's extremely noisy- mostly road noise from other vehicles, but find an open, twisty A or B road when the sun's out and the roadsters are great fun. Dom, if you've not done one then can I suggest a video on the drain tubes and protecting that vulnerable (and expensive) CCM?

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  2 года назад

      Yeah I totally agree with you, I found that when travelling on the motorway recently, I ended up using my headphones to block out the noise. But like you say on a sunny day there is nothing like it specially in a 3.2 with the roof down.

    I'm late to the conversation here, but it seems like I read somewhere that the roadster has extra structure inside the doors to provide more safety for the driver and passenger in a crash. Along with the roll bars, it helps create the protective cage that is missing with the soft roof.

      Probably an n75 issue, but worth checking your throttle body as well - it might need cleaning. Plug in a bluetooth code reader and try to see if the TPS reading match the accelerator pedal position as well, since there's so many electrical gremlins with our beloved TT.

I don't know what's up with that, maybe the plastic's gone brittle over the years, but there's been cases when I popped the hood down, I saw cracks or small gaps being made, which of course will ruin everything on the back if it rains. That’s fair enough, I get it feels quite nippy being 2wd, I’ve heard the 150/180 are quite good fun round town

      @@TheParrottBros Yeh it does feel nippy being lighter too than the 4wd and living in a city has more than enough for me, sounds good too when you boot it with a cone filter and forge diverter valve.

    I heard the coupe would be better for tall people as the seats are more adjustable.
    Anyways I wanna get one lets hope I‘m not too tall at 6‘4.

    My TT is a fair weather car. Currently waiting for a compressor / collector combo + alternator for my ride do I can blast some AC on my balls n' face whilst' driving in an abnormally hot summer.

    This review provided nothing interesting. Anyone could have made a comparison between a roadster and a coupe. You should write your review first. Get into specifics, not generalizations. We just watched you standing between the 2 cars the whole time. Take the camera into the interiors of the cars and show us. Drive the cars and tells us if the coupe handles better or not. Waste of time.
