Only one I would add is possibly the passenger/centre/driver well LED kit, makes the car especially at night look wicked good 👌

Audi gecko airfreshner in black, smells great. But then you'd want it to at that price!
I've hardwired an Echo Auto, taking power from the switched stereo line. Fitted a 12v to 2x 5v USB adaptor into the ashtray, fits perfectly under that little metal 'shelf' in the ash tray. Stuck the echo auto under the centre console so you can't see it. Voice activated music, navigation and calls. Currently using a cassette to Jack to get sound through the stereo. Next phase is to wire into the changer's plug and remove the cd changer. Love the T Shirt by the way!
That’s brilliant, I didn’t even know the echo auto existed 😂. Not an alexa guy my self but love the idea of it all. & thanks buddy, seems like an accurate T shirt doesn’t it 😂
i just recently upgraded to one of those ATOTO S8 android headunits (no more fancy metal radio lid use for me!) but before that i had an echo auto. i had mine mounted to the side of the passenger knee pad thing. so light / mic / buttons were easy to get at. with a short 6"-ish right-angle plug into a single DIN with a front mount aux input. worked pretty good and i could close the lid.
the ease-of-use / working consistency / automatic connection / amount of annoying bugs... was all better on the echo auto than my new set-up. it was easy enough and convenient enough to use that i'd regularly use it to stream local radio stations vs. just tuning them in. massively better quality and no need to open the lid and switch to radio. etc. definitely recommend. and moreso if you use other echo products at home. as i would pull into the driveway i'd tell the echo auto to move the audio to the living room echo that is plugged into some bookshelf speakers. by the time i got into garage and out of car the living room was playing... and with weird buffering differences i'd normally get like 10 seconds overlap from where i turned off car and got into house. so wouldn't miss anything.

For better audio quality you could use a Bluetooth adapter that connects to the CD Changer port on the stereo. That way you can also use the controls to skip songs etc.
Also does anyone know if theres an adapter for the 2nd Generation Handsfree phone holder (next to the passenger side heated seat controls)? As I don’t like having a hole in the dash and the phone holder doesn’t look good unoccupied.
I enjoy all your videos and wish you good luck in the future. I have a 2000 Mark 1 TT convertable. I have a problem with raising and lowering the soft top hood. I can't find any videos specific to this issue - e.g. topping up the hydraulic oil reservoir. Do you intending to do a video on this or can you redirect me? Thanks for any help.
Hey, thanks for the kind words, usually if it wont work could be a couple things, most common is CCM module failure, could be hydraulics or a sensor that hasn't seen it meet a certain position, unfortunately i dont have a roadster and its hard to replicate some of the faults, best thing to do is head onto the ttforum and do some searching there is a wealth of info on there
CD's That's me, I come from the 20th Century ;) Alluminium vin number, alluminium surround for the dashboard dials...an Alpine CDE 193BT head unit fits with the flap and has blue tooth, for my Garmin.....I don't have a phone, did I mention I come from the 20th century? replaced all the seat levers...Bling....I don't have a cup holder..on the fence about that...eating and drinking in TT just means more cleaning hahahahaha I've kept my rear seats just in case I need to give some pixies a lift somewhere.
😂😂😂 I still can’t get over the fact you don’t have a mobile telephone. Do you set a timescale with someone.. I’m going out in the TT if I’m not back by this time come and look for me & bring a tow rope 😂.
I actually looked for all my cd’s the other day, I’m sure Mrs p threw them when we moved & couldn’t find a single one 😂

I went with the Bluetooth adapter you recommended in your stereo options video and is spot on, also have the phone holder and 3d printed double cup holder. There are options to have steering wheel controls by using a mk2/mk3 flatbottom but the cost isn't worth it unless you can make up the looms and do the wiring and modification yourself although I don't think the flat-bottomed steering wheels suit the mk1
Good glad you found it useful 👌🏻. Yeah the mk2 steering wheels although nice look a little out of place as look too new, I totally get why people use them as it makes getting in and out nicer if your tall or a larger gentlemen like me

Hello, I am looking to install a boost gauge in one of the air vents. But what about driving at night? Is the light from the gauge annoying? If so i was thinking to install it in the storage box behind the three buttons so i can cover the gauge.
If you get a half decent one it will dim when your lights come on, plus they are back lit so no brighter than your clocks etc. having it down low means you are going to be looking away from the road when driving it’s not ideal
Great vid!! Might be a daft question, but my roadster has a snapped ariel, so relying on cds. A new areil is forunes, so considering the Bluetooth adapter, but saw it relies on radio frequency. I'm guessing i need to get that working first?
Depends on strength of your broken aerial, if it’s non existent then yes you will need a new one for it to work, there is other options though you can sacrifice your cd changer for a Bluetooth module

Have tried a couple of cigarette lighter plug Bluetooth devices but had issues staying adequately plugged in. Seems the socket, USA spec, is not adequate. Puzzling. Thanks
That’s odd must just be like you say a dodgy socket. It’s not an issue I’ve had with a TT before. You could always fit a remote socket in say the glove box
The downside I've noticed with my rf adapter is that it stays powered on even when the engine is off and keys out so i have to always remind myself to take it out or i may end up with a dead battery. but i did get it from Halfords so maybe that's why.
If you check out my other videos i actually put a ignition fed supply in just for this reason 😎

It all depends what part of it has broken, it could be quite a few of the components, i would remove the seat from the car then flip it over and have a look and see what's not doing what it should

How do you get the Bluetooth transmitter to work without connect to the original stereo?
the transmitter produces a radio station, you simply tune your radio to the station displayed on the transmitter
Hi Dom, does the fm transmitter need to be taken out of the socket overnight or does it turn itself off when key is removed?
It would need to be removed when finished as thats a permanent live, if you search for my other videos there is one for fitting your own hidden 12v port that can be switch live so no need to remove it

That’s a shame, I can see why they wouldn’t though as I’m sure the cost would be terribly high due to the weight and size of the item alone
Great video dom does no3 work with aftermarket stereo?
It certainly will dude, it just transmits your music to a radio station signal of your choice so you just tune your radio accordingly

Well i got that little thing for music but i plug it into the smoking gate and i dont know how to connect it and what buttons to press to make the compare so i can listen to music ... i cant find any vids on youtube
Usually it will give you a radio station that you need to tune into, then you just go onto your phone into Bluetooth settings and look for an available thing, on the one I have are usually comes up as car kit back to that and then you start playing music through your phone like you were listening to headphones

You can source a double din, dash conversion and wiring adapters but its not a cheap exercise
My two dogs sit in the back and get very sunburnt through the window what’s the best thing to put on the window

That depends, is it a 150/180/190/225? Is it stock or remapped?

The used to via eBay global shipping programme. I get why they may have issues selling the seat delete due to weight and size postage would be extortion
I have the proper double cup holder but some twat cut off one of the cup holders so that they could fit the proper arm rest in front of it.. Obviously didn't have the brains to think of just twisting the double holder side ways! 😫
