Hi, I have just replaced my roof lining with a second hand one which I have replaced the fabric with new and also added Fibre optics before hand and with you help and with a massive Thanks it was completed in 4 hours , it needs to be on a warm day so the plastic doesn't break while removing the clips . Thanks again Brilliant job Cheers PT
Another great video thanks , just removed mine with this video . Mine has a strengthened area across the hatch area , the replacement I've bought hasn't, is still ok to use to replace .thanks
@@TheParrottBros this thing is crumbling before my eyes..a couple weeks ago I mildly aggressively pushed the hazard switch and it went right into the dash..yesterday morning I glanced at how many kms I (supposedly) had left in the tank, ok..I looked again when I got to work and the bottom half of the numbers weren't there..and here I thought I had some freak good display with no issues..
@@michaelhawk-fitz7563 that’s how they get ya, sneak up on you and surprise you with issues. The switch just needs refitting where the securing plate wasn’t in properly. Easy enough job The pixels that’s just annoying!
You can see how threy come off and where the clips are, the rest is up to you, unless someone has been there before and put some sealent in there too haha
Do you have to remove all the plastic interior trim (the lower parts over the speakers and whatnot) and the trunk lining, or is that not required to remove the roof pillar plastic pieces?
No worries, lol. Thank you for taking the time to respond, I appreciate it. Do you happen to know off the top of your head what is required to remove all the lining/plastics?

If they get broken you could plastic weld any cracks or damage, they should need strengthening as once fitted wont move and shouldn't ever fail as such
Hello, I am removing the headlining; what you tell me how to remove the trim through which the belt goes through; it is the one on the side? thank you. Also is it clipped?
Until you can schedule a day to entirely strip the rear interior as shown, a generic guitar stand, seated on the center console can extend the neck support to prop up a flattened cardboard box and elegantly lift the center mass of the headliner UP against the roof.
I had already made a video removing that trim and the other trim on the boot lid in a previous video so I didn't bother doing it again ha ha, yes they often squeak this one is loose
Wish I watched this before I broke like all of the clips I couldn’t get it to come out without breaking even being gentle lol
Yeah its probably one of my least favourite parts to remove thats for sure
literally just did the same

@@pilott7435 smashed it mate 😊
No wonder the coupe feels so solid when you shut the door compared to the roadster. It's like a luxury cocoon!
hahahahahaha
Yes finally.
Thanks so much bro,
My pleasure dude
🙏 I’ve been waiting for this video, couldn’t find anything on this subject

Great stuff mate the TT diet is going well and looking forward to the end result of it being a track ready car 👍👍
Should make for a nice winter project

I can’t for the life of me get that back roof trim off. Google & forums have failed me as well 😅

@@TheParrottBros I ended up using the just break it method, worked great
Shame to through in bin ida paid ton for all those headliner pieces lol great video thanks so much for the info
I actually kept all the parts still that were intact still :)
This channel is just too precious man, should get them backed-up in another place just in case. Thanks for the great content as usual!
Thanks buddy 😎

Which part are you trying to remove? if the head lining just the pillars, the lower stuff can stay in
@@TheParrottBros the pillars seem to "latch" into the trunk lining with hooks or connect in some way. Not sure if I can put photos
@@merrickmorrill my apologies you are right. The rear door cards do fit into the pillars so it is a total strip down, apologies it’s been a while

Is there a way too stregthen the plastic clips? If they break how can i fix them?

There is a video on my channel showing how to remove the rear 1/4 panels which includes removing the seatbelts
thank you very much
@@TheParrottBros
Dom have you weighed everything? I took all mine out but didnt weigh it
I didn't unfortunately, wish i did there was some serious weight in there
@@TheParrottBros I'm sure with the weight behind the bumper, it has to be 100kg ish
From memory its late teens, early 20's bws tt removed it and weighed it haha@@Lowcollective

Innovative i like it
Please where can I find my engine number on an audi mk1 tt
You mean the 3 digit code? if so its on the front left hand side on a small tab at the front
Grate video as all ways. Is the little Center visor for sale ?
I have a few if you need one, drop me a message on any of the socials or via email, can sort you one
So how good are those coolerworx shifters??
They are wicked mate
Did you remove the dash before?
I've never had to remove one and put it back, bryn at bws tt has made a video of dash removal i believe
Mine has a garage door open and being a real piece to get off.
That's very cool, is it in American base car?
You haven't removed the one around rear window... I broke mine in 4 places :D it was squeaking, now it's not because there is nothing to squeak :D
I had already made a video removing that trim and the other trim on the boot lid in a previous video so I didn't bother doing it again ha ha, yes they often squeak this one is loose
careful with the trim piece that runs around back quarter windows...the clips break easy....
The clips brake easy on all the trims as it’s old and brittle for sure
Its not that easy 😂 i guess UK TT’s don’t see much sun so the clips aren’t as deteriorated as US spec TT’s🥲 great video tho 👍🏼
Thanks buddy, they see a wider range on temperatures tho I’m sure 😂🥶
