I like that you included the sights and sounds of the actual work in the video. People considering this type of project can greatly benefit from it. I think I should buy my next used car from Herbie.
I had a company do something similar here in Phoenix area and it lasted about 2 years on my outdoor porch that is covered by a roof. We had to chip it all up and do tile instead. So glad I didn't do the whole driveway or anything in the house!
We would love you tooo as well! And check out how far this has come - the boys have grown up now and figured out a really neat way to clean it ruclips.net/video/tK-ZHqLLLzA/видео.html
Do you sell DYI high temp epoxy? I want to have pebble edges on my out door patio with clear coat (give a beach theme) but here in Arizona there only 3 seasons hot, hotter, and monsoon
We never recommend using epoxy outdoors. Polyavastic is what you need. And I'm sorry about Arizona, but I can relate bc I live in Florida. And we don't even have a Flagstaff to escape to like you do in Arizona.
Jessica Blaesing What I did with my 19 dollar tub is I took a measurement, broke the depth down into 19- 1 dollar increments, measured down two increments from the top lip, then used a felt pen to make a line around the entire tub. I tried tin snips at first but they were a pain in the azz, so I drove an hour to the next town where I bought an angle grinder (79.99), and some extra cutting wheels. After cutting off the extra 2 dollar strip, the tub worked great!
Everlast Epoxy Those people at lowes really must not know construction. Even went to corporate asking if they carried the $17 tubs. Nothin'. Are they some specialty tub y'all include with the service? Did y'all patent the $17 tub so we couldn't do it D.I.Y style?
Video is better than most - no annoying music, but the discussion about the car in the background could have been edited out. I like the descriptions about what type/size trowel to use, but I could use more info on setting up the vinyl barrier (assume it is to block the sun-maybe that affects drying time or curing somehow). Also I would like to see what edging was used around the patio to block the stones from falling off the edge. I also don't know how to use a gauge rake. Thanks.
The vinyl barrier was actually tarps. They were nailed to 2x4's and leaned just inside the soffit. The purpose was to keep the rain out while the floor was curing. You could hold the stones in with a 1x4 then remove it when the stones are cure. Put a car wax on it first so the stones don't stick to it. A gauge rake really isn't that hard. If you had one and were tasked with spreading a pile of sticky rocks with it, you'd catch on really quick, I promise. I hadn't used one before my first time using one either.
H E L P!! We moved into a home that has the Chattahoochee pebble stone surface. After the first here (FL) it started molding in-between the pebbles. We lightly pressure washed it and resealed it, we thought it was never sealed when they laid it, now we have horrible white patches all around the pool area. We have resealed it twice and it still looks very patchy, you can tell where the pressure washer has been, it actually has streaks. We did not pressure wash too much under the lanai so it still looks pretty good. However outside the lanai area it looks as if they painted the rocks because the rocks are very faded in large patchy sections. Did we pressure wash the paint off, hard to tell what is going on. Can you guys suggest what we can do to even out the colors?
THANKS TO YOUR VIDEO I CANT WAIT TO GET THIS DONE ON MY CONCRETE FLOOR....BUT I HAVE THREE CONCRETE STEPS AND IM WORRIED ON HOW TO GET THE STONES TO STAY ON THE BACK OF EACH STEP....CAN YOU HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM???
Make forms out of 2x6's to hold the pebbles against the risers. Leave a 3/4" gap for the pebbles. Put car wax on the side facing the pebbles. Then fill it with the pebbles. Remove it the next day and do the steps.

I found a hardware store selling metal tubs for $17 but they had a special offer of buy 2 for $24 and I could not resist the bargain. Now I am worried. Will the tubs still work even though they are effectively $12 tubs now? 🤔🤯
I purchased all of the bags of rocks, the epoxy, trowels, tarp, spent close to $2000. I finally unloaded it into my back yard. Then I remembered I needed a $17 tub. Ran to home Depot but they only had a $19.99 tub. I was so distraught and depressed I quickly ran home and became a hermit for 8 months. All the supplies still sitting in my back yard. Because I did not leave the house I lost my job and so I had to sell my belongings. Then I decided to cut all of my hair and join a cult. They had jobs for everyone. I was excited cause I really felt I was again worth something. The cult leader assigned me to a job which was written on a sheet inside an envelope. I opened it and the task was to install a pebble floor in the sacrificial hall and had a link to this video. I quickly had a frightening flashback as thought I was back at home Depot........
Those folks talking in the background need to be quite and one of them should be narrating what and why the installer is doing. Instead of standing around talking over top of the recording. Great tube!!!
Interesting idea, but you lost a lot of credibility in my eyes when you declared that you're the only company that can produce a UV resistant epoxy resin.
I'm sorry to hear. But a few comments down someone is selling them for $16.99. All you need to do for that to work is give him an extra penny for his troubles.
You are absolutely right. Even so called "UV resistant epoxy" still yellows and chalks over time. We recommend using polyavastic instead of epoxy outdoors.
Why recommend using a Marshall trowels?? 20 yrs in building game never ever seen anybody using a £70.00 trowel doing floors.. Marshall trowels are for smoothing walls/plastering due to their thin blades, use one on cobble stone/ or pebble stone as we call it in UK? You may aswell throw it away, won’t be good for anything else anymore.. and then buy a $17 bucket?? 😂🤣 99p buckets from B&Q would do exactly same job..
You are absolutely right. Epoxy does that 100% of the time. That's why we developed polyavastic, it doesn't do that. Learn more here: ruclips.net/video/T73KbaSRjgA/видео.html
I like that you included the sights and sounds of the actual work in the video. People considering this type of project can greatly benefit from it. I think I should buy my next used car from Herbie.
Its good to see the son is out helping on the job as well!!
That's the best part! BTW - He's much smarter than I am so now we recommend a much more professional installation method then what this video shows.
The main thing we learned from this video today is that Kirby is a nice guy and gives great deals on cars!
I had a company do something similar here in Phoenix area and it lasted about 2 years on my outdoor porch that is covered by a roof. We had to chip it all up and do tile instead. So glad I didn't do the whole driveway or anything in the house!
It was probably an epoxy. We developed Polyavastic so this kind of flooring can last outdoors now.
Probably the nicest looking flooring I have seen in a long while!
thank you for showing us you did a wonderful job explaining this and reminding people to take their time and do a nice job that is very important
Glad you enjoyed it!
Rice crispies can be made the same way! Except use melted marshmallows instead of epoxy. And rice crispies instead of pebbles.
If I buy a $17 tub on sale for $15 will it work or do I have to wait for the sale to be over?
Shocking workmanship!!
Kirbys a good guy
WOW! That would be beautiful inside or out. I'd love to have that in my kitchen or bathroom.
We would love you tooo as well! And check out how far this has come - the boys have grown up now and figured out a really neat way to clean it ruclips.net/video/tK-ZHqLLLzA/видео.html
That was a good technique and more useful for beginners
the floor looks beautiful!
Thanks!
"put it in a 17 dollar metal tub" that is a really nice measure unit...
That is one gorgeous floor!
Falisha Stewart spent
I like how it's so professional and then you get to hear the workers talking about buying a car. :)
Yeah, that gave a very amateurish feel to this whole video. It was annoying.
Maybe if they'd have taken a little extra time to do a nice job on the audio editing....it's not hard, it just takes more time.

Will a $19 metal tub suffice?
Nope. Tub HAS to be $17 or it won't work. LOL :)

Everlast Epoxy well I can't do this then ☹️. I live in England and can only buy in £. Can you post ? And change my currency?.
Jessica Blaesing I don't think my $17 tub is the same size does it matter?
Kirby is a really nice young man
We like him too!
But... how much did he pay before he put in most of the work?
Video is better than most - no annoying music, but the discussion about the car in the background could have been edited out. That is a common problem when using epoxy outdoors. That is why we developed Polyavastic.
I AM IN NEED A NEW CAR.
I WOULD LIKE TO MEET THIS HERBIE BECAUSE I HEAR HE IS NICE YOUNG MAN TO GIVE GOOD DEAL ON A CAR.
could i put this out by the pool, is it slippery when wet?
Thanks to our proprietary VaporVent Technology, water won’t collect or pool on the surface, minimizing the risk of slips and falls.
love how you can hear the guys arguing and cursing in the background.
Where's the cursing? So I can tell their Mom.
THANKS TO YOUR VIDEO I CANT WAIT TO GET THIS DONE ON MY CONCRETE FLOOR....BUT I HAVE THREE CONCRETE STEPS AND IM WORRIED ON HOW TO GET THE STONES TO STAY ON THE BACK OF EACH STEP....CAN YOU HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM???

but i could only find a 15 dollar metal tub. :(
Tear up two $1 bills, and mix them in your rocks. If you are using the outdoor epoxy, tear up a $2 bill instead.
I'm in Canada. Our dollar is so bad, I can't find a tub under $50. Is that ok?
Only if you're a Jet's fan. If you go for the Leafs or the Habs, then our CEO, David, says we really aren't looking for your business anyways. #GoJetsGo
How much is $17 metal tub
Only $17!
But I can sell you one for $18.
I also have a special bulk buy of two for the price of three.
Can this be applied to small vertical faces. Like the face of a step?
Yes it can. You can learn how here: ruclips.net/video/AxpjCWbes6o/видео.html
(The tripod lovers will like this video too)
I'd hate to be the one removing this floor.
agun17 lol
A couple of sticks of dynamite should do the trick.
I found a hardware store selling metal tubs for $17 but they had a special offer of buy 2 for $24 and I could not resist the bargain. Now I am worried. Will the tubs still work even though they are effectively $12 tubs now? 🤔🤯
We're telling people $18 now.
Can I use it in my garage and drive onto it and park my vehicles ? Or is it not capable of support the weight and everyday use ?
Absolutely it will work just fine.

Sorry I took so long to reply :(
I was sad from your story, so I didn't know what to say. But I'm over it now, so, I'm sorry I guess.
I think Sugar Puffs would look nice also.
I think you're on to something.
Sorry I couldn't find a $17 tub
In to a 17 dollar tub if I buy a 20$ one will it still work
Mike like i dont think so.
Mike like
Mike like Yes, but it won't come out as nice. It has to be precisely 17$
Looks really great Can you drive a car on that when it is finished?
Yes you can.
Thanks for the video. It's a good step in the direction of a kitchen floor idea I have for a home I'm building.
what if my tub is worth more than or less than $17
Has to be exactly $17
Pickle Tickle not gonna work. 😄😅
If you use a $19 tub, add more rocks to the mix. Use less in a $15 tub.
Everlast Epoxy Your replies to everyone about the tub having to be EXACTLY 17 dollars is killing me! Great job guys. I love how this floor came out!
Pickle Tickle I used a nine dollar Rubbermaid tub.....it ruined the whole floor.....
I love how Everlasting Epoxy continues to reply to comments and joke around that the tub has to be exactly 17$ or it wouldnt work 😂
Just trying to be sure everyone's project is a success.
Can one use this product on steps? How do you handle the risers?
Yes it can. You can learn how here: ruclips.net/video/AxpjCWbes6o/видео.html
estou apaixonada mais como faço pra contratar esse serviços
..how does it smell if done in basement? .... strong odor or not?
Nope, in a basement we would recommend Everlast Natural Stone Indoor Epoxy which is 100% solids and contains no solvents.
is that Kelly ripa
great information about tub...
looks awesome you can't go wrong with this type of floor
VERY NICE WORK LOVE IT!!!
Would this be good for a bathroom floor?
Yes, absolutely.
ruclips.net/video/tK-ZHqLLLzA/видео.html
I want to hear more about that care he got a good deal on.
does it have to be a $17 metal tub or can I use a $16 one?
I think we covered this in the video.
Those folks talking in the background need to be quite and one of them should be narrating what and why the installer is doing. Instead of standing around talking over top of the recording. Great tube!!!
*quiet
Great Information!!!!!
Very nice thank you.
nice job
KP Sparkle Cleaning tyg
Kirby sounds like a swell guy
He is!
Damn Kirby paid $17.50 for this tub.... FIRED!
We pitched in and gave him 2 quarters back so he could keep his job.
Will it adhere to vertical surfaces?
It will, you'll need to use a form board to hold in the stone while it cures.
"Then pour two bags of pebbles into a $17 tub" What if my tub is $18?
very cool
wow looks amazing, 😊👍👍
My metal tub was $18, can I still use it?
I wanted to reply sooner, but had to wait until I could tell you an $18 dollar tub was ok. The $17 tubs now are $18 tubs, so now it's ok.
$17, um carry the 1, I was never good at the metric system...
us neither
Should add some relaxing music when you apply it! Instead of having some chatter going on in the back :) Love that look,
I have a 18$ tub what do i do
It's perfect. This is 2020 who has a $17 tub anymore?
cant see that drill lasting long
No, but the floor will!
Interesting idea, but you lost a lot of credibility in my eyes when you declared that you're the only company that can produce a UV resistant epoxy resin.
There is no such thing as a UV resistant epoxy. That is why we did not use any epoxy - we used polyavastic.
I sell that same tub on my website for 16.99
That is awesome. I'll tell our customers to throw in an extra penny and we have a winner!
tell me what part of nature looks like that ?
the rocks by the river
Nice floor. Would've been a lot nicer if you used a tripod when making the video.
How many views do your professional tripod videos have? More than ours has?
lindo, mais acho que todas as explicações, tinha que ser tudo em português
cool floore
Couldn't find a $17 metal tub
I'm sorry to hear. But a few comments down someone is selling them for $16.99. All you need to do for that to work is give him an extra penny for his troubles.
Had to hear about Herbie's car deal, lol
it' perfect i liket
Interesting
where you gonna get 17 dollars... the ol. catch 22. and for that reason I'm out..
Hang tight, I just may know of some people who are looking for your tubs. Soon you just may have the $17!
He worked all summer for a $1,500 car??
I Like ;)
perfeito ,,,,amei
epoxies should never be used outdoor they are not UV resistant
You are absolutely right. Even so called "UV resistant epoxy" still yellows and chalks over time. We recommend using polyavastic instead of epoxy outdoors.
nice
perfect
$17 metal tub is not good but not terrible.
Go get the new and improved $18 tub, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
hey peeps ! hell star it is cool!job right
I buy my metal tub from Mexico ( is a Mexican tub ) do you think I'll work ? Pay $200 pesos for it ,, good job guys just kidding ;)

If you had to deal with the stiff junk that they sell here in the USA, you would be thankful for Marshaltown. Trust me.
Hold the damn camera still !!
Does your videos have 10 million views?
And then it turns chalky white when done in the sun.
You are absolutely right. Epoxy does that 100% of the time. That's why we developed polyavastic, it doesn't do that. Learn more here: ruclips.net/video/T73KbaSRjgA/видео.html

that's pretty novel
little less chatter, a lot more work gentleman.
Sorry it took me four month to reply, I was busy working.
this video was horrible, informative yes. however the editing could have been so much better.
I wonder, why do our "professional" videos get 1000 views and this one so far has 7600000 views? I think editing is overrated :)
please speak spanish
That prep job was ass!
It really should have been better. I agree.
