My brother, I wish I would have run into your videos first. I just got into fpv and it was totally foreign. Everyone that talks about protocols made it mind boggling! I have only watched the first minute or so as of yet but I already have the basic understanding of what these things do! Thank you. Of course I do have a computer background so I was starting to understand it, but would have been soooooooo much better to see you first. Good work!
I'm confused, isn't crossfire a protocol that elrs uses , so it is an open protocol, so its a stack level below the language, ie transmission link. Your explanation at the start confused me a lot.
That's awesome.. glad it helped. I have other videos showing how to install or configure ELRS as well. ruclips.net/video/pUhe3jKzduQ/видео.html ruclips.net/video/HOUFqs6iTAA/видео.html
I have an ELRS Lite (2.4GHz) Wich has ceramic antenna and a jumper T-Lite with 100mw power and 50Hz frequency. I am reaching maximum 100 METERS before I lost signal. I am using in an open field with some trees, not more than 2 imas obstacles sometimes. Is something wrong? I tried a lot of things, saw a lot of videos about range but I can't get any better! Is this the real maximum for my config? Please help! I saw the conector, the wires, everything is fine! Thanks in advance!!
Thanks... hard to beat TBS's safety record due in part to its easy to use and update system, but for micro quads in need of less weight AND a smaller antenna with less drag going to ELRS really is amazing. Fun to watch the progress being made... and remember the James Webb telescope launch is set for Dec 18 at 4:20 AM PST now;-) Just wish the RC industry would look at the sub 250g micro glider scale in need of associated electronics with telemetry and RTH GPS failsafe which has the potentual to grow as large as the micro quad market or even larger IMO given the opportunity. However we now have to deal with the FAA which brings up obvious politics connected to money and advances the RC hobby has created.
Good show. Questions 1. That little receiver you show3ed had a ceramic antenna. That seems to be a great way to reduce the size and weight of your radio gear. I'm more intere3sted in fixed wing and PWM is what I would like. Can a ceramic antenna work on a fixed wing receiver if long range distance is not a concern? 2. Do you think that a company will build a unit with ESC, Flight control and FPV power on one board?
The ceramic antenna is compact and light. It can work with fixed wing applications, but you’ll need an ELRS to PWM adapter/converter. There has been demand for ELRS on fixed wing planes, so manufacturers are now making them without the need for an adapter. I’ll link it below. As far as the All In One, they make that as well. I’ll link it below as well. PWM ELRS receiver: bit.ly/3IWc6nD All In One FC/ESC/ELRS: bit.ly/3CmnIO9
As a beginner, it is so cool to jump into this and see there is a nice selection of fixed wing or PWM flight controllers on the market two years later. Even twin motor options!
I want to purchase a ceneape35. It has ELRS, however i already own a rekon 5 long range which runs on FrSky. How do i switch to elrs when i get my Cineape35
My question is simple- what transmitter -cheapest that can bind to H8 mini (Bayang), syma, spektrum DSM(X) Flysky & FRSKY & Radiomaster & etc etc - or where can u go to simply learn? I had to sell my $400 Frsky as it took too long to find a simple way to learn opentx. I’ll pay you to respond &/or refer me. Thank you
FrSky is not bad, but ELRS is soooo much better in the performance department, and is the same price as FRSky. Depending on your radio, you could easily attach an ELRS module.
ELRL, has great potential. But, there are some downsides to going with open-source systems. Joshua Bardwell has a video out, explaining those downsides. I believe is actually with that Beata FPV unit you have. One of those downsides, is not having dedicated support for the product from a manufacturer. As suppose to TBS, they will stand behind their products. One problem Joshua found with the Beta fpv, is that it has a joystick button, that is not an actual joystick, but a button. . Another problem, is the unit goes into failsafe, when you try to change the output power for a quad you may have with ELRS already built into the flight controller. Anyway, Joshua Bardwell can explain it better than me.
Very good points.. I'm familiar with JB's video, and have noticed the same once ELRS came to FPV. It's really one of the downsides to an open source system. Having said that, it does make for an exciting experience watching all these manufacturers scramble to make new and supporting equipment. I was/am an early adopter, and paid the price with this new product. The biggest thing to take away is, do your research before buying a product, since there is no "standard" with an open source project. With all that said, what we're witnessing is a direct result of competition, and the products WILL get better with time.
@@OneManUnmanned And competition is always good for us the consumers. Not to mention lower prices. I am rooting for ELRS. I hope manufacturers can get their act together.
Is that a Babyhawk at 5:22? I just started recently in FPV with a tinyhawk, and I’m already thinking about getting something else that might be able to handle a GoPro session or an Insta360 GO2. Thought about getting a Babyhawk, but I have a couple other things I’m looking at. Any good recommendations that aren’t too expensive?
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, That was a BabyHawk2 Analog. I’ve done a review on it, and it flies great with long battery life(I’ll leave it linked below). The GEPRC Smart 35 is also a great drone. HappyModel Crux35 is nice as well. ruclips.net/video/VwtPqToEqSA/видео.html
This is the most simple awesome explanation available on RUclips! Thank you! I’ve been flying drones for years, and I’m still extremely confused, especially by all of the big RUclipsrs the worst being Joshua Bardwell, who says you’re gonna learn some thing, and then talks to you on a very advanced level, never ever explaining what some thing simply is, I have been spending hours trying to research what the hell is Xpress LRS without having to watch a 45 minute video which I did watch And still was unable to understand what the hellExpress E LRS is
Bro, can i just link my DJI radio to my pavo 25 v2 without getting a brain aneurism? I just wanna fly my little drone after a long day of work. i don't have time to discover a new galaxy.
If my crossfire breaks I trust the people who built it to fix it. Why pay money to send my open source to a newb and maybe it work or maybe it doesn’t. The old is better than you think
Thanks for your feedback…I think the open source nature of it, speeds up the devopement process. It also open the User to multiple manufacturers instead of one. If TBS runs out of products, the consumer is screwed. If RM, HM, BetaFPV, Jumper, I-flight, and GepRC all runs out of inventory at the same time, there will still be another manufacture making the same compatible hardware.
New sub here, question. I've been using a qx7 with rsxr's forever, am I going to come across issues setting up express lrs on the qx7? And does it matter which lrs recievers I buy? TIA
Hi iam a beginner i need buy this radiomaster pocket which version is good for me Is the elrs version can support all the radio recievers like flysky IA6B etc..or only the elrs version
It's hard to say because there are so many factors like the environment (Buildings, trees, water) or different choices of antennas in both the radio and the receiver. Having said that, the output on this radio is 100mw, which is usually good for a few km. I've used this radio recently for testing, and I had no problems. Review on it is coming soon.
No, this controller in particular is for ExpressLRS, and those two drones don't come with ELRS receivers, unless you wire them yourself. The Jumper-T Lite, Radio Master TX 12, or Zorro controllers are all good radio options.
My friend Greg bought into this ELRS malarkie. For a month in email I had to listen to him struggle to try and get 3 receivers he bought jsut to bind andhe never suceeded. Soemthing aobut probably previous buyer had flashed to newer firmware and then returned it. In the end I told him to just buy Crossfire, it works. You're not saving any money if you spend all that time trying to get it to work and it never works... you actually just lost a lot of money.
Sorry your friend had to experience that. ELRS works, but does have a steep initial learning curve. Once you have the 1st one setup, it gets significantly easier.
I'm a noob to FPV and been considering switching from Frsky to Elrs. I've also heard the same thing about the difficulty of binding and set up. I'm not good enough yet to build a quad so I buy bnf and they all pretty much have Elrs as an option which leads me in that direction. For a noob Crossfire seems to be the way to go but I'm unsure thanks for the videos!!! You help me make my choice when I started last year on a RTF kit. I've since upgraded and purchased Fat Shark Attitude V6 goggles, Radiomaster tx16s mark 2 and Mobula 7. I'm looking to buy my first 5 inch quad and want to make the changes all ones. More videos to watch as I can see thanks again!!!
Thanks for supporting the channel all this time. I'm glad the videos helped in choosing your RTF kit. ELRS will be an option more and more in BnF because of its performance to cost ratio. Good luck in choosing a 5 inch drone... There are tons of selection on the market.
Why would I care about open source. I’m not a designer or an engineer. I don’t want something that update daily. To much work. I want to wheel isn’t broke don’t fix it scenario
