I love this series. It was 1976 and newly arrived at my next duty station in Okinawa while serving in the Army. It was a rainy Saturday and was hanging around the barracks with nothing to do. Went to the day room area and selected a paperback from the book case. It was “All Creatures Great and Small” by James Herriot. I was an instant fan and read the series again and again over the years. My children grew up hearing the stories and I’ve been watching the old series reruns again and can’t wait for this next season.
The casting of the two brothers was spot on. Shout out to the casting director. 👍🏻
This is one of the best series ever. Way better than the older version.
I love that this series deals with the drama/comedy of real life in all its joys & frustrations. There is war, death, poverty, injury, illness, moral conflict and yet it is infused with the joys and laughter and sacraments of daily life shared among good people.
I loved the old series and am so loving this new version. It’s very well done in my opinion! 👏🏻
I fell in love with the books. I fell in love with the original series. I honestly did not think that anyone else could play Sigfried, James, and Triston. Now I find myself falling in love with this series.
Can't wait for January 9 2022
This show is an amazing stress reliever! Can't wait to return to these lovely characters.
Such a sweet show, this is a very well-done remake. excellent casting, acting, costumes, set design and animals!
This is my all time favorite PBS Series! I still watch the original series.
Yes, both versions of ACG&S are superb.

Bravo can't wait for second season. Loved the books, loved the first series and this series is the best! Think the scenery steals the show.

Awesome! 😍☺️🤗
Such a great show
So looking forward to this!
Well, this I did not know. Prunella Scales is Samuel West’s mother. He’s the best Siegfried Farnon I’ve ever seen, even truer to my internal vision of him from the books than Sir Anthony Hopkins was.
Samuel West also appeared as a troubled newlywed, who meets Jean and Lionel, when they pay a visit to Paris in “As Time Goes By.”
Samuel West was also in an episode of “Midsomer Murders” with the great John Nettles.
Is there a new Dorothy ? Not happy about that ! Mrs Pumphrey had to be replaced sadly but Dorothy is alive and kicking no excuse not to bring her back.
It sounds like her name is Diana, so a new character.
Im confused. I bought Season 2 but it only had two episodes. ??? Where are the rest of the episodes ?
Another job offer
With the way the storyline is for next season I wonder if this will be the last?
How to watch last episode of season 1?
Maybe your local library has the dvd's?
Thank you Elizabeth. Library closed and desperate to see last episode AND I found it on You Tube. Would haveoreferred on
Preferred on A big screen DVD. Will tell friends who missed series - like I had. Cannot wait to DVD new series! Thanks again!
Looks like Diana Riggs was replaced as Tricky Woo's owner.
Unfortunately, I feel James has been miscast. The brothers are superb and i love their scenes but the actor playing James doesn’t interest me at all, yet he is meant to be the main character. He comes across as weak and simpering which has put me off watching.
He has stood up to his boss at least twice, when it really mattered. I have read all the books several times and watched the original series, and I think he is well cast.
I disagree. I think he is absolutely perfect for the role.
Watch the original series from 1980....far..far closer to the books than this over sentimentalised soap opera....
