I don't know, but instead of "Himiss" you could use "Mit". I mean it is a mix of both and sounds kinda like "mid", so.. it would express the neutral feeling pretty good.
I recently finished “Cemetery Boys” by Aiden Thomas and “So you want to talk about race” by Ijeoma Oluo. Both were total hits for me! Such great books 😊
Jesse: Bills, Bills, Bills Me: *Having a Destiny’s Child Moment* CAN YOU PAY MY BILLS? CAN YOU PAY MY TELEPHONE BILLS? CAN YOU PAY MY AUTOMO BILLS? THEN MAYBE WE CAN CHILL!! I DONT THINK YOU DO
I recently read, "Sunkissed" by Kasie West and it was a big hit for me. It kinda had some Dirty Dancing vibes to it but more modern. Anyway I loved it and I love most of Kasie West's books.
Jesse: All adulting is is bills, bills, bills Me on autopilot: Can you pay my bills? Can you pay my telephone bills? Can you pay my automo' bills? If you did then maybe we could chill.
Irrelevant but i just finished the all for the game trilogy. And let me just say that whole thing was a hit for me. Especially the last book, when the official shock of "i thought this was just a book about sports and friends" wore off , the characters are well written and i have found myself realizing more and more how realistic they are. All the relationships are on point. Just. Yes. 😊😊😊😊
As soon as I saw Hit, I knew I'll finally start READING 'The Gravity of Us' which has been sitting on my shelf for years. Thought it was a science fiction from the title but was disappointed when discovered it was contemporary. But now I've made myself accustomed to enough contemporary to know I can like contemporary too, if it contains heartfelt stories. I know Jesse's Hit/Miss game won't fail me, so I'm going to give this book a go!
I got a new book! I rarely get new books, partly because I'm not reading much (besides Fanfiction). The Book is Six of Crows in the Collectors Edition! The most beautiful book I've even seen! But first I finish the Silmarillion.
I want to read The Space Between Worlds. I am sad to say that the invisible life of Addie LaRue was a miss for me, but One Last Stop (which is surprising because it is out of my comfort zone) was a hit for me and is looking to be my favourite book for this month.
King and the Dragon Flies reminds me kind of the Taylor Swift song , marjorie . " What died didn't stay dead . You're alive , you're alive in my head but I know better but you're still around."
Jesse, I have a book recommendation for you. So I know you love kpop and so do I, so I thought this would be the perfect book for you. It's a book called "Shine" by Jessica Jung (yes, THE Jessica Jung from Girls Generation) The book is about this girl named Rachel who is Korean-American and trying to make it in the kpop industry. She eventually makes it into a group, but soon has to face the pressures of being an idol. She also meets this boy, but she can't date him because of the dating ban. I think you would like this book because you like kpop plus it's written by someone who was once in the industry!
Your taste book collection is what I’m aiming towards & I also like how apparently comfortable you are I front of the camera. I love your videos, keep it up! :)💜
Cassie's books are 90% teen angst, romance, and drama. I haven't read any of her books since Queen of Air and Darkness because I was so disappointed that she didn't do more on the political side of things and just focused on the drama. I do plan to read the rest of the books in the shadowhunter world but I need a good long break from the drama.
I definitely felt the same way about Happily Ever Afters. Like everything that happened felt very juvenile, and I get she’s in high school, but the choices she made were always just terrible throughout the book
i loved chain of iron because angst is the thing that keeps me breathing, but i can definitely understand where you are coming from. like if i cared about the plot (don't judge me) i would have been disappointed lol
I don't know how you feel about rereading books, but I know for me, even though I read SciFi quite a bit and read a LOT of it when I was younger, there's always a bunch of stuff that I just don't get until like the second or even third time I read it. Totally normal to have SF go over your head.
Thank you for posting, Jesse! Finally able to watch your video lol. Been super busy, plus going through some things, so prayers are super appreciate! Love you, and thanks for what you do!!
From my July reads - A Man Called Ove: Hit Black Sun: Himiss (leans more towards Hit though) We Were Liars: Himiss (leans more towards Miss though) Queenie: Miss (sad bc I really wanted this to hit)
I haven’t read The Last Hours trilogy because of the fact that I refuse to read a trilogy from her until it’s completed because of the Lord of Shadows ending. And I’m so sad to hear that the final book to that trilogy isn’t being released until November 1st 2022
nooooo i loved chain of iron😭. It wasnt as good as cog, but i enjoyed the plot, especially the murder mystery. the plot twist blew me away and the angst....was perfect! I respect ur opinion tho
I agree with you about Chain of Iron. I hope that book three works well and all. I got my new library in my new town so I can’t wait to place a hold of pick up Sky Blues!! It sounds so good!
Jesse: adulting is overrated Me: Bless! At least ONE person out there gets me 🙏😁😁😁 Spoiler Warning: It hurts me to say it, but Eragon is getting more and more a MISS for me. Book 1 and 2 were fantastic! But in book 3: All the book cares about is if he and Arya will come together. And I hate Love Stories disguised as fantasy.
I recently read the selection, i am curently unsecure wheter it was a hit or a miss. However concidering i am now reading the sequek it must be more towards the hit side. So at the moment you might say it was a himiss📖
I read Chain of Iron, and liked it up until the ending. I was SO mad about that ending that I almost threw the book. Also, my most recent read that I really enjoyed was Witchshadow by Susan Dennard, mainly for the plot twists.
Do you think you can give a recommendation list of books that are amazing for Grief? Not just on Grief of death, but also so maybe of upset in change in life?
I have on my TBR List, and I bought the hardcover a few weeks ago. The title kinda' reminded me of from 1998. Am I wrong in assuming? Also, Jesse, I LOVE your channel and have pretty much every book you recommend on my TBR List. Huge fan o' yours!
The last book I read was Fated Throne from Zodiac Academy series...Himiss😔... Worst part.. ends in a cliffhanger and next book release date is December!!!

as you should lol
Why is HIMISS so stupid that it becomes brilliant
The nurse part of my brain was just staring at the veins in your arms like 😍😍😍. I’m gonna have to go back and rewatch this and actually pay attention.
