No, you have to use the app in order to connect the strip to your wifi.
I have a question I bought these light but do I have to keep this power plug in or does the lights have to charge...help me

Good job on the video, my brother. I just got a C by Ge flood light and connected it to the Nest Mini that Google gave me for free. I like the bulb, and your video confirmed my thoughts on the light strip. I'm getting a few! Good luck on your channel. As far as suggestions, I would recommend putting some foam on your walls to dampen the sound, so you won't have much echo in your audio.I got mine from Foam Factory. It was way cheaper than any other sites I checked. Again, good luck and good job!

I recommend you get the monster prism wall panels they sell these at Walmart and get the c by GE colored bulbs

Yes!
I think it's a shame that a LED strip that cost $60 doesn't have much options, for exp you can only change the color on it, u can't program it to go thru all the colors by itself, or fade or anything a $20 LED can do.. If your looking to just have one solid light this is good for you. The quality of the light it produces is good tho. Other then that I don't recommend this LED strip.

You can change the colors manually, not sure if you can have them set to rotate automatically.

Make sure you didn't buy the extension, I almost did that
I bought the correct one, it said it had the power supply but it didnt come with one, I plan on returning it tomorrow

Their app is not good at all. So damn hard trying to connect and set it up. Lights just stopped workin with the app. Restarted the lights and can’t even connect the app to the lights.
you will have to follow the steps to reset the lights. its a horrible step by step tutorial on here. I ended up having to call the toll free and have them assist me in the process

Might need help. I’m using the same WiFi (and password) that I always do for the light strip. However, it always tells me that something went wrong and that I need to make sure my router is on and in range. It is indeed on, and I am sitting right next to it. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Is the light strip close to the wifi as well? I would suggest reinstalling the app.

i ended up returning them, i really like the quality and the smart features about them, but honestly i really like the cheap pair i have bc it can fade in and out into different colors and i really like that aesthetic over just having one solid color. and also the cheap ones are like 20 bucks

Ohh lol my bad! It actually connects to your wifi. Then you download the app to sync with it and change the colors.

Seems like a waste of money considering you can't combine two of this 80 strips. It doesn't come with a connector or anything. What is the point. I rather pay less for a cheaper one that has triple the amount of feet.
I mean 🤷🏾♂️ It worked for my needs and so many others. If its a waster for you, then look elsewhere lol

Spent like $150 on some hue lights worthless rgb strips all the way
I’m going to subscribe too you right now boss, I just got theses light for inside my gun vault can you PLEASE PLEASE do a tutorial on how to link the lights to Siri, I can’t find anything anywhere really and I threw the box’s they came with out already. c by GE stuff isn't compatible with HomeKit (yet). There are workarounds with a couple different hubs, and programs like Home Assistant, but they are quite complicated and not very user friendly. From my chats with GE about HomeKit compatibility, it is one of their most requested features and they are working on it. Supposedly there may be some new features and compatibility dropping Q2 2021? I obviously can't guarantee HomeKit compatibility will be in that feature drop, but I'm hopeful.
