I got the gen 1 astro a10's and I don't have any issues with them, had them for over 4 years now and still in great condition.
Bro you just got big ears, just got these and they are way better than the gen 1s. Just make sure you break ‘‘em in a bit because the Pads are a bit tough. But DONT break in the top pad because you want that support but slowly massage the ear pads, and please don’t just massage it down because that will make them flat. Massage it like a pillow, like your trying to fluff it not squish it up and down like a stress toy. But honestly these are amazing and definitely a 9.5/10.
Haha that’s exactly what I said. I got mine today and I love them. They fit me nicely and are way better then the Gen 1s a lot lighter to.
When I was like what’s he talking about the ear pads they are comfy as fuck. But then saw he has big ass ears and he wears glasses so year they aren’t gonna fit him and with glasses your gonna feel that discomfort with any headset if you wear glasses. I should know cuz I wear glasses myself and with my glasses on these still feel very comfy. And that swivel action whatever that is who needs it. When everyone plays they keep their head straight so swivel action is not necessary and all that other unnecessary bending and twisting he was doing to them I was like lol who does all that to a new headset. Plus who twists there headset when gaming lol but any way I agree with you man they are very comfy and way better then Gen 1s. And everything he said these were made for kids like no they weren’t just cuz dude has big ears then normal these may not be fit for him and others with big ears. To be fair there are prolly bigger pads made that ge can replace them with to. So eh

I'm glad you mentioned the Blackshark V2 Xs. For one reason or another, my virtuou XTs have an echoing problem when I connect them via 3.5 and since I need them connected with that when I stream, I definitely had a problem on my hands. Picked up the V2 Xs to use just while streaming with my friends. Even went back and watched your review of them. I think these Astros LOOK great, but you have proved that's all they got going for them.

Improved comfort over the horrible headband on the original A10, better sound. Lighter, same durability.. this headset can’t miss! I’m sorry it didn’t fit you properly
can you tell me if the bass is better then the first gen astro a10?? i have seen a few reviews that say that the original a10s had better sound quality because they we 40mm drivers and this gen uses 32 drivers???
@alexlobito08 I don't have the originals but I can tell you that the bass sounds pretty good
@@Ikeona125thanks for letting me know but i would love to know if tha bass is better on the first gens or this 2nd gen version because a friend let me borrow the astro's a10 1st gen and i could say it has a pretty good bass sound but i would love to know it this 2nd gen version is less powerfull by a big margin or not that big of a margin
Took your advice and got some wicked cushions for my cloud alphas and they look so nice and feel great to definitely not bad for 30$

Most comfortable headset I’ve ever had, I’ve had a50s and these are still the only headset that hasn’t hurt my ears or given me that “pony tail headache” feeling on the top of my head
How does this compare to the rig 400 hx wired 40 mm drivers? I like them but they finally stopped working in one side today after 2 years of good gaming..im more interested in affordable sound quality cuz it's about gaming and music for me
Im 24 and they fit over my ears just fine.
I was gonna get the BS V2 X but I need a Removable cord. These headphones sound so good that I even use them to listen to music with.
I had a pair of the original a10s and they lasted me a few years. I had to get a new headset because the pads started to wear out, and I moved up to the a40s because I was so impressed with the durability. Cool to see you can replace the pads really easily with this version as you can with the a40s.
I replaced the ear pads. The original A10s are just so good.

I’ve been using Astro a10 and a20s for the Xbox one for about 4-5 years and now I have a series s, I loved the sound from them and they felt comfortable but after 4 hours they got uncomfortable and they also didn’t produce as much bass as I was likening because I use Spotify frequently but the durability is insane for these headset, I’ve thought them at wall multiple times, met the floor very violently, etc. and they still work with the only thing needing a replacement was the wire for the a10. Are there any recommendations for anything else to have wat I’m looking for saying as to how the a10 second gen is not it.
4hrs is way too long for a gaming sesh, also youre throwing your shit at the wall so u probably didnt even pay for it u should get a job and get therapy instead of gaming so fkn much
You can’t knock the bass on a GAMING headset when using it for Spotify because it isn’t made to play music through its made for gaming
@@AJDReynoldbass is extremely important for a gaming headset. Footsteps are completely bass.
Does anyone get any weird faults with the volume control? It switches between Mono and Stereo sound when turning up/down volume?
I wonder if Wicked Cushions would make aftermarket pads for these. The overall headset is good, but some aftermarket gel pads would make it so much better.

Honest review from someone who owned it. It was amazing especially for someone who was new to gaming. It was very comfortable and worked well. I had no issues my whole time using them until I switched them. I used them for about 5 years, and it never failed me. I absolutely love these but I'm switching to newer gen headsets. I would definitely recommend to not as serious gamers. They will be perfect for any new gamer but if you are not a new gamer and are relatively experienced, I would get newer ones. I hoped this helps.
On their website it says the drivers are 32mm Neodymium Magnet
Oddly enough I seen these on display at my local Best Buy and tried them. My ears actually fit inside and they were pretty damn comfortable. Almost grabbed a pair just to try but didn't
I think the Gen 2 went with a 32mm driver too instead of the traditional 40mm driver. :-/
Why does the A10s have the best mic quality out of the entire series while being the cheapest? I will never understand this, all I want is a wireless A10 or A20-50 with the same mic quality.

some who knows a bit about foam - there is no need to massage them. memory foam reacts with heat, they get softer and more responsive with the heat of your hands/head.
I loved my old Astro A10 but my god the headband on the old one hurt my thicc fat skull lol but these new ones look way better already

What would you recommend for that “competitive” sound. I do notice on the last gen a10’s I can’t hear footsteps or anything else going on when there’s a ton of other noise.

You buy the mixamp separately and hook the A10s to it.

I just want my headset to be durable and last long because my A10 v1 broke only because of the cable not working for some annoying reason. Everything else was perfectly fine. I just want to know if these are more durable and can last longer or has better cable.

Alright so this is a long one, b I've just recently gone through so many headsets for my girlfriend that I was thinking Best Buy and Amazon were going to flag my account for unusual behavior lol. I kept looking at reviews (like yours that's how I found you!) trying to get her something with good surround sound as Ive been using the gen3 a40's since the PS3 was out so I'm a bit picky now. But we went through everything starting with Razer. I wanted to try going beyond Astro because she's a PC gamer and Razer is so synonymous with PC gaming, but it also have me a chance to try them too. But Razer honestly just did not impress. The thx and synapse 3 software experience was just a nightmare. We tried Corsair, Roccat, Logitech, Hyper Cloud and none of them sounded as quality straight out the box or with software as my Astros or just Astros in general. So I said screw it, new ones are coming, the lilac is something she liked so I got her these and she absolutely loves them. I myself have the tiniest ears on anyone I've met besides my dad and my ears still didn't fit inside these. But my gf says they are perfect and I bought her a Dolby license on PC for Apex and she couldn't be happier. I keep wanting to get her the A20's but she already tried those at Best Buy and said they felt just okay. I definitely think the memory foam on these is great though especially the headband it's just so much better than on the original A10's.
Why is there Xbox and PlayStation do I need both? Or just one

They fit my ears fine, and stay comfortable. I think it depends on your ears. Not necessarily one size fits all.
I just bought the a10 gen 2 and out of the box the microphone just wont pick up audio. I can hear others but they cant hear me, what should I do?

You didn't like the original A10's? I really loved my pair and I held on to them for a long time until I recently bought A40's after being extremely disappointed with the A10 Gen 2. While the parts of the original A10 may not have been easily fixable/replaceable (besides the AUX cable) but it had the comfortability for me. They went over my ears because they are significantly bigger than the gen 2's and the top headband wasn't that bad, it was definitely the worst part in terms of comfortability though. The Gen 2 did so good with the easily fixable/replaceable earcups and headband but they made the earcups smaller which was easily the WORST design choice known to man. The A10 gen 1 isn't as big as the A40's but at least they go over 90% of peoples ears. Really upset I had to spend $100 on a headset lol, wish Astro didn't drop the ball with this one but unfortunately they did.

I know these aren't really marketed that way but to me they should be pushed as a headset for kids and young teens. The small size would probably be perfect and you just plug it into your controller and you're good to go.
The 1st gen model suffered from uncomfortable clamping force.

It's almost as if Astro reverted back to their old A30 on-ear headset with those pads. Granted the A30 wasn't garbage but I personally prefer over ear design

@@CG-xx2er I definitely don't have a large head. I usually barely adjust my headband's off their smallest setting and they are fine. The Gen 2 A10 have a smaller earcup. My ears fit in but just barely.

2:32 and saved me watching this and like 5 more reviews. You'll still get your thumbs up. But I can't use on ear headphones. Ear hurts over the simplest of pressure. Thanks for pointing this out very early.

tbh If u're someone that often break the cable of your headset, i think that the astro A10 might be a better choice than the blackshark v2x. From my experience, razer headset are definitively not the most durable especially on the wire side. ( My razer kraken's cable broke after 2 years ( still good tho ) and i had to replace it just because of that as the rest of the headset was in perfect condition )
On the old a10s the wires sucked and I had to buy a pair every 7 months or so. I just bought this pair and once they come in the mail I’ll see how they hold up.
@@sispyhus how are the gen 2s holding up? Yeah I've been through 5 pairs of a10s due to the wire, over a period of about 3 years. I still have two working ones brought my last one 5months ago. But im thinking of buying a the gen 2s as the ones i have now are the red call of duty ones and the mic isnt as great as the blue and green a10s. Hoping the gen 2 has a better mic as it sounds distorted at times when i record gameplay
I grabbed some they are smaller and less powerful than the original A1s. Mic is very clear, less bass boost but clear mids and highs

The audio positioning in that game is garbage. This is coming from someone who's played it with A40's, A50's, SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless. It doesn't matter how good ur gear is that game has disgusting audio. Tracking whats going around u is terrible. All the headsets u stated will shine in other games.

@@TheTechne had the hyperx cloud orbit s which is basically audeze Penrose and they sounded great but the build quality and hinges are weak and steelseries for me the earcups hinges gave out sadly

Push the jack all the way into the headphones. It takes a lot more force to plug in compared to plugging into other devices

They're very good for gaming really good sound and they sound fairly flat so its also decent/ good for editing music and the mic sounds great too plenty of volume

So these are good for people with small heads. The mic sounded good. Yes, please swivel. What test I'm looking for is if the mic picks up background noise and how much? If there is noise / people talking in the same room I'm in, will the mic pick it up and everyone on the other side of the headset hear?
These v2 are not the move. I prefer the v1 for WAY more durability & comfort. The only good thing about v2 is the bugger headband . Cheaper & lighter plastics made mine break after dropping on floor

SUPER regular. Just picked these up and I'm returning them tomorrow. I still have the first gen A10s (that I bought about 6 months ago for PS5) and they honestly sound exactly the same, maybe even slightly better/louder than the new V2s. I think there's a tiny bit more bass with the older gen too. If you still have the OGs, there's no need to upgrade unless you want the latest/not so greatest. These just aren't it for me, so buyer beware.
i wanna buy them for my laptop do you recommend gen 1 or gen 2 or another model? my usage is work and gaming from time to time...
@Kareem Gameel either one is fine really. I do think the V2s are slightly smaller than the OGs. Specifically the ear cups. I have average sized ears and they fit completely inside the old version, and the V2s just sit on top of my ears. I prefer the OGs.

@Kareem Gameel if you play alone, hands down my all time favorite are Skullcandy Skull Crushers. They're bluetooth, so I turn them on, and then plug in the cable so I still get that teeth rattling bass. I SWEAR you can feel the footsteps in the ear cups, and can tell which side the enemy is coming from. They're amazing.! But for multiplayer, the A10s are good enough for me without breaking the bank. The Corsair HS60 were nice too until the detachable mic and left ear cup went out six months later.
