When the boom mic is plugged in, if you try and move it, bend it away from your mouth, does it do the horrible scratchy, static noise from the connected end? Like when you plug/unplug it you hear it, but mine does it slightly when I try and adjust the positioning. Hope that makes sense! Thanks in advance :)

Man, the Astro A30 charged to 100% in just one hour, and when I first used it, it was at 40% but then I used it to 5%. It's an incredible headset. While it might not blast music as loudly, even with EQ adjustments on your phone, it really amps up the excitement when connected for gaming. I'm absolutely loving this headset, no question about it!
bro i have my headphone paired to my phone and ps5 but when i try to use the eq on the app it doesn’t let me it use it. what did u do to utilize the eq on the logitech app??

I know this is old, but thank you. I was curious as to how good it was, or if it was bad and good at the same time. Cleared all the doubts I had on the Astro 30s. Everything was very helpful from beginning to end, well explained and well elaborated.
After watching at least 50 videos in the last 7 days a bothersome situation arose once again All over RUclips are “reviews” of not just headsets but essentially everything-obviously But most of them are brand ambassadors on the DL they get sent these products free of charge therefore creating a review video that is completely biased giving the viewer and altered perception of reality It is wildly frustrating. Essentially leaving me with more questions than before. Which in turn makes it that much harder to pick a dam headset Your videos are long but you do numerous tests and showcase every detail well So I thank you for your efforts
This review was amazing thank you for all the details, it was super helpful so many reviews skip a lot of the little things that I find important. Originally I was thinking about the nova 7x vs 700 gen 2 max. But now sense I was already leaning toward the nova 7x and the a30.
DUDE 18:50 you literally just sold the headset to me. I need a headset that can hear PS5 and PC at the same time. I noticed the mic breakdown though. When connected to multiple devices does the mic prioritize a connection over another? I was kind of hoping to use the headset on PC with the wireless dongle for Discord and PS5 through the aux cable but don't really want to use the mic on PS5. Or is the mic simultaneous with aux as well as wireless and BT?
On my dual sense edge, I get the benefit of adjusting game volume, and chat mix using the controller. More importantly, the mute button. It's significantly way faster than removing one hand off the controller just to flip or press any buttons on a headset. That's one of the reasons I hate the PS5 Pulse headset, because you can't mute it using the controller. You literally have to reach the mute button on the headset itself. So just to clarify, muting the headset using a controller cannot be beaten. There's just no way!!! 🤣
Got one yesterday and I very impressed with it. The ear hole is a bit small for me, and long sessions will have you adjusting it for comfort, but these are not a huge deal. Sound is great, and the look is on point. A great headset!
I purchased the nova pros wireless 3 days ago, luckily I don’t feel any bump , love it ! Coming from a Astro a40 I think the nova pro wireless is at the top of the mountain especially with the battery feature sound is amazing as well I’m hearing every little detail in game

So update.. I purchased the ps5 version and sound is 💯 volume, I returned it to buy the Xbox version and forgot the ps5 dongle in the console.. well hate to say the transmitter only works with one headset meaning if you have 2 transmitters it requires to pair them to the headset every time you want to switch consoles so not very every console friendly.. at least the steelseries novas new transmitters can have two pure headset without requiring pairing each time you switch consoles, only problem you can’t buy them online yet
Well if you use one transmitter use the wired for another device or console as long as your headset is turned on your eq carries over no matter what as long as it’s turned on

I personally loathe flip to mute, because it leaves you with 1 of 2 things. Either a mic that has basically a fixed, hinged drop with very little adjustability - or a mic that eventually wears out and starts dropping from over use. I prefer a button of some type.
Impressed with the review. I am a long time a50 owner and desperate for a refresh as the loss of optical with migration to xbox x has killed the sound quality on the a50. I am really hoping for a refresh 🙏 but I won't touch any headset without a flip to mute option as otherwise its a deal breaker for me. Here is hoping....

I've been searching all over for the answer to this question... For console gaming using a wired headset means plugging into the wireless controller (for the most part). That being said what produces better sound an affordable wired headset like HyperX CloudX plugged into the controller or a wireless headset like the A30's via 2.4ghz dongle plugged directly into the console? I know you have be be careful which wired headset you use because the controller can only output so much power. Thank you!
hey mate, first video I've watched from you. Really enjoyed the production value and quality of delivery. The PC gaming headset market is competitive and overwhelming with what's out there. Often hard to find a great headset wireless headset for a medium budget is challenging as there are so many flaws with headsets in 2022 that get so much right, but still a few things wrong is astonishing. Can you do a video for the medium-medium high budget wireless PC gaming headset? For example, the razer sharks look great, apparently sound great, but their earmuffs have to keep being adjusted after sliding down...and other products that compete have equivalent flaws. Would be good to get a great comparison to see what comes out on top.
Awesome review I'm definitely sold on these. I think the mic sounds good enough for the price, I've had hyper x cloud flights for a few years and those mics are straight up trash. The hyper x headsets do sound amazing but, I did like the Astro A50s but they sound to muddy for me so I'm hoping these sound better then them which you did say they do.
@@skuzi7897 I've had loads of headsets and I currently have the nova pro wired and the a30s. The a30s are one of the best sounding headsets I've heard, they are very clear but also have punchy bass. Beware of the comfort but, I find them extremely uncomfortable, it sucks because they do everything else so right

@@skuzi7897 the earpads feel soft to touch but are fairly stiff on the head due to the clamp force, the headband sucks to. It's just not very good on the head, I've had my kids freinds and wife say the same thing. I haven't tried the epos yet as I've heard that are better for PC. I've tried all Astros all hyper x headsets turtle beach SteelSeries and the Sony's. The Sony h9s are the most comfortable I've ever used but they suck in terms of sound side tone and build
I'm super torn on the Nova 7 because the mids dip and the arctis 7's sounded terrible. How does the nova 7 compare to the arctis 7, BlackShark V2 Pro wireless or Corsair HS80 as far as audio quality, imaging, and sound stage are concerned?

I would grab it if I was you. I have them and they are great now if you don’t like the comfort after about a month or so grab some wicked cushions for these guys your music will sound a bit better trust me.

When I use my mic and the aux cord for my gaming pc the mic sounds HORRIBLE. No matter what input I plug it into w the audio cable it sounds like I'm 30ft away with so much feedback. Any certain way you got that mic to work w the cord plugged into the pc like that?

Kinda odd Astro or Logitech (since they own them now) didn’t use metal sides like the A40. It’s nice that they have speak tags and magnetic earpads like the A40s

I love this headset my favorite headset was the A50 but after all the updates so they can be used with the ps5 they sound flat no bass at all the only problem I got with this is the mic picks up allot of noise but I really liked them
Got my pair from Astro this past Thursday. Got Navy as well. Glad I didn’t preorder from Best Buy because I was damn close since I have rewards points to lower the price. I agree fullly with your review. It’s really a great headset although the microphone is not great.

I didn’t forget because they do not compare. In pure analog mode, the H6PRO is superior in every way. H6PRO does not offer wireless, game to chat mic, custom eq, etc If you don’t need any of those extra features, the H6PRO is better.
The reason why I think you were stuck with the volume with 10% I think u was in pc mode on dongle. Had the same problem and switched and now the audio is loud

I got mines yesterday and I might be just me but they fell to small for my head shape and size and a little uncomfortable, maybe with some use I'll get use to it and fell better Everything else is really good

Great review! You said the headset will play three sources at once without volume reduction like the TBs do. If connected via TRRS to a mobile device for Discord mobile app, and headset is powered on to connect to the console dongle (I have PS5)... The mic both internally and the boom sound so much better on the aux it is amazing
Yeah it shows most of the quality issues can stem from the wireless signal and not the mic itself. They are constrained by wireless bandwidth.

There is no app for this headset for pc only mobile and yes you can customize you have to look closer to the arrow and customize it from there

I'm super torn on the Nova 7 because the mids dip and the arctis 7's sounded terrible. How does the nova 7 compare to the arctis 7, BlackShark V2 Pro wireless or Corsair HS80 as far as audio quality, imaging, and sound stage are concerned?

Did you do a follow up to the EQ app issues being fixed ?
Has the app issue and other bugs been fixed? Considering grabbing a pair for PlayStation. The A30s are only $150 - $180 in most places these days.
I would grab it if I was you. I have them and they are great now if you don’t like the comfort after about a month or so grab some wicked cushions for these guys your music will sound a bit better trust me.
I jus bought my headset yesterday, but for my ps5. But wirelessly why is my audio so low? Soon as I plug in my wire to my controller and my headset it’s much louder. Any suggestions?
When I use my mic and the aux cord for my gaming pc the mic sounds HORRIBLE. No matter what input I plug it into w the audio cable it sounds like I'm 30ft away with so much feedback. Any certain way you got that mic to work w the cord plugged into the pc like that?

Kinda odd Astro or Logitech (since they own them now) didn’t use metal sides like the A40. It’s nice that they have speak tags and magnetic earpads like the A40s

I love this headset my favorite headset was the A50 but after all the updates so they can be used with the ps5 they sound flat no bass at all the only problem I got with this is the mic picks up allot of noise but I really liked them

Why not keep it flat and use Dolby atmos to setup eqs I do that to my nova pros on console I had amazing luck with great eqs

Got my pair from Astro this past Thursday. Got Navy as well. Glad I didn’t preorder from Best Buy because I was damn close since I have rewards points to lower the price. I agree fullly with your review. It’s really a great headset although the microphone is not great.
Gotta say, the internal one isn't bad at all in wireless! Not class leading, but definitely usable! I guess I'll give this headset a try 😉
@@xPenitentOne I actually use the internal microphone myself because itt sounds better to me. I’ve gotten zero complaints while using it and people say they hear me perfectly fine

I didn’t forget because they do not compare. In pure analog mode, the H6PRO is superior in every way. H6PRO does not offer wireless, game to chat mic, custom eq, etc If you don’t need any of those extra features, the H6PRO is better.
my dad got me the xbox version A30 for christmas and im on ps5 so i bought the PS dongle and it won’t connect please help this has been stressful
You have to hold both power and Bluetooth button at the same time until it blinks purple then hold the ps transmitter until it turns purple as well

The reason why I think you were stuck with the volume with 10% I think u was in pc mode on dongle. Had the same problem and switched and now the audio is loud

I got mines yesterday and I might be just me but they fell to small for my head shape and size and a little uncomfortable, maybe with some use I'll get use to it and fell better

I didn't hear you mention it and I tend to like a lot of side tone where some other headsets have very little sideline.

So can you do bluetooth PC and 2.4 console? I've watched countless reviews and no one has talked about this connectivity setup. I wanna be able to hear/talk to party chat while also hearing discord etc without having to use the 3.5mm cord

In what mode do these sound best when playing games ? What mode is recommended ? Wireless Bluetooth or wired ?
All of them will sound great depending on your eq no matter what as long as the headset is turned on.

Unfortunately it doesn’t only the ps transmitter only unless you go Bluetooth or wired.

Great review! You said the headset will play three sources at once without volume reduction like the TBs do. If connected via TRRS to a mobile device for Discord mobile app, and headset is powered on to connect to the console dongle (I have PS5)... Will you still project the highest quality voice to Discord?
