An excellent battle report as usual, my hat is off to You sir :)! One note though - Paired weapon trait doubles the attack characteristic of a model only on charge action, otherwise paired weapons simply count as two melee weapons (+1 attack).
While the masks spooking the Ogryns so many times had me rolling my eyes, when they kept their cool, man was it glorious. Their toughness and high wounds really kept them in the game. For a sneaky trick, load the Ogryn leader and champs up with incendiary grenades; they can long bomb those 15"! Nothing like the big 5" pie plate slapping in the middle of your gang from what you thought was a more than safe distance. Ammo-jacks help grenadier Ogryns greatly, giving you rerolls on ammo checks depending on how many you got and even if they're in the fight, they bring a boltgun/combat shotgun, a power hammer/sword, and the Munitioneer skill to keep your Ogryns hocking those molotovs at your enemies! They're also probably the one gang where taking as many hangers-on as you can is smart because you're unlikely to add gangers. Sloppers and rogue docs are all good to keep them going fight to fight. Oh yeah, and get carapace armour for the leader if you can and combine it with the armoured undersuit. An Ogryn leader with his T5 with a 3+ armour save is incredibly hard to delete!
Oh my! I’ve researched the grenade tossing but very good info on hangers on to make them more viable. 1) it gives me a reason to paint the buggers and 2) it gives me a reason to not buy more Ogryn 😂 Thank you much!
Miniature Montage Wargaming sets up a full table with beautiful scenery and terrain for a battle. Ends up fighting at one side of the board that has almost no terrain.

These reports are great! I much prefer the narrated and cut down videos you make as opposed to the « streaming » style other channels do. Much easier to follow as someone trying wrap their head around this game!

Very interesting, its a real shame that the gang aren't avaliable anymore, to buy your gang would mean buying three boxes of ogryns!!!
Agreed! I was fortunate to grab that six pack before it went away. T5 is very very good at the start of the campaign. And everyone is multi-wound. Makes for a rough outting.
Great match! Spoiler: I was expecting the "poor Ogryn" to get slaughtered due to the CG masks and was considering them serious underdogs. The fact that they survived multiple CG charges and were able to hit back so well was very impressive. If you hook them up with some incendiary grenades it'll be the "poor Corpse Grinders" who don't stand a chance.
I think T5 is very well early on in campaigns. The grinders really only had S+1 weapons and they had to get close. I think Plasma or high powered ranged weapons would spell doom for them.
What a fight. Those slave Ogryns are pretty terrifying. Shame the corpse grinders couldn’t land the hits. Might have made a bit more difference since they stuck around a long time. You said starting at toughness 5 strength 5 at the start of a campaign was very good. Is that because they can get wounded and lost toughness and strength as campaigns go on? Or another reason?
Most of your normal fighters are S/T 3. Even Goliath are S/T 4. So 5 is a big deal. Plasma Guns are 100 credits and they just wound on 4s. So early on many gangs will struggle to have the weapons to damage them.
I would love to see the Big guys get some grenades and pester a rival gang from across the board. Love the bat rep and cant wait to see who else joins in this campaign.
Spoilers…… Thought this would go a lot differently. I played ogryn against my bros CGC and got mullered. Those masks made it a chore. He also had the heavy chain cleavers with sever and they do not mess around. If I read the rules correctly every unsaved wound is an automatic out of action. Which means multiple roles on the lasting injury table. He attacked my leader and inflicted 7 out of action results which ended with him losing an eye, a hand and going critical. It was not fun

Seen a few games with gangs fighting Slave Ogryns, and usually the big guys do not fair well. This is the first time I’ve seen them win.😸

Hi, it’s for the lobo-slaves only. Other Ogryn can be pinned by ranged weapons.
You only double attacks on the charge from paired weapons, at least give the Ogryns a fair fight. :x
