Just imagine the Augmek realizing he has to flee not just because of the next game, but because 'he might be the boss now.' Looking forward to see how they pick up in the next game!
Oh Baby, necromunda is back! Jimmy I know I say this every time but your 'munda battle reports are absolutely brilliant, I love every episode, you rock! Just a couple of things - I don't want to throw a ton of Van Saar stuff at you but I feel it's worth mentioning a couple of the more basic tenets . Hystrar Energyshields are not really worth their cost some say, but I like seeing it used, flak armor is always better skipped in favor of mesh especially for van saar. I like that you took an Archeotek with a radbeamer! some people will tell you this guy will be worthless. I say keep him as is and buy some rad grenades for your Teks/Sub teks so you have some layers of rad phage synergy! Otherwise good luck I look forward to your thoughts as you explore and learn the gang!

The early buy path for either example gang is mesh armor for all (possibly skipping the juves) and then more rad grenades for rad stacking with the narrative gang. For the damage gang path is Mesh armor first then frag grenades for blast marker options on the las weapon carriers. Also would be good to get any plasma weapon carrier a laspistol as a emergency last resort since all plasma's are scarce and with bad luck run out at the worst times. The rad stacking narrative gang would be amazing to see in your campaign as luckily none of the other gangs wear hazard suits, which hard counter rad! Both of these gangs are 1,000 creds on the spot. Yup, House Cawdor are very good. Kinda feel like they are the best gang, especially as the articles of faith are free. Most other gangs have to pay to access their special rules!
Perfect welcome to the Underhive for the nerds! That said, I think Teks (the gangers) are a credit trap. Sure you have BS3 and slightly better stats over all, but a lasgun-armed Subtek (the juves) is just shy of half the price, as good a shot as the gangers of other gangs at BS4, plus you get a t-shirt save for free!
Just a heads up! At 6:44 (unless I am mistaken somehow) it looks like you made a rad phage roll after the champion armed with a plasma gun hit but failed to wound the cawdor priest! Only Rad weapons and Rad grenades have Rad-Phage weapon trait! so if this was the Champion with the Plasma Gun as I am interpreting the vid there would not have been a rad page roll. Also! at 10:08 - the van saar leader could fight back using both his plasma pistol and the hystrar shield - he didn't have to fight unarmed!

Gorgeous terrain and a fun game, despite a few rules errors already mentioned! When I saw the lists, I was wondering what kind of madman equips his Prime for melee and not shooting... I guess it's the kind of madman whose Prime gets KIA in the first match. If you decide to reset him, or otherwise get another Prime, give him a 24" (or better) weapon.
What an epic fight did Von Marx put in that little stall! So glad to see Van Saar actually getting up close, but why did he react unarmed in the first turn? He could have potentially hit a plasma shot or knocked back the priest allowing him to charge next turn or shoot him using his 2+ BS... that would have changed the whole course of the game!
I have to often fill my roster whit cheap Subtecks (juves) whit las guns to ad guns to the line. It will cheapen the leaders gear that they can take but it off set the amount of laking bodies in the fight. But ye seem bad rolls is Vansaars curse

Often I build my Escher Gang queen with a lasgun and give her support skills from the Leadership table just to save credits, but also because it keeps my gang leader away from the front line and out of danger to some extent. Champions are where I put my firepower and more expensive builds. The simple truth is if you're not rocking up to a fight with ten models, you're probably doing it wrong. If you're playing a long campaign you can always buy a bigger gun later anyway.
Great game! What a barn burner. Van Saar are an interesting one, it sounds great to go narrative and lean into the rad stuff but I think it doesn't really pay off, especially considering the cost. If rad test was made against the targets toughness I think it would be at a 50% chance all the time we all know how that goes... Also I think the new champion is a trap too, they're just worse than the regular ones and more expensive. For his cost he really ought to be inflicting a serious injury every round but with rad weapons... I think regular champions are just better, don't get me started on Van Saar and melee. Its a real shame but imho Van Saar really seem to be just plasma centric to enjoy any chance of success.
Only played one game so far but I did like the Beamer! 4+ for a flesh wound to reduce toughness could make your las guns wound on 3s. I’ll have to play more games.

Oh wow, Cawdor prayers definitely paid off given the van Saar rolls 😂 think van Marx shouldn’t have gone forwards, exposed himself vs a team, think he should have held back as a counter punch plus would’ve been able to group activate/provide cool check support I think the archeotek is not a good choice at starting, both the rad Beamer and spider rig are over costed for what they do and doesn’t match up to a second augmek instead. Archeo can do some crazy things though, give them two las subcarbines and gadgeteer for two rapid fire 2 weapons or get a heavy bolter from trading post and weapon smith to give it plentiful
That is normal to Van saar as I play them missing and whit plasmas or when hit you do not cause eny wounds it seems to be bane of every Van Saar players

A friend of mine was playing Enforcers and Riko was his leader, he was a legend who kept doing daredevil stuff and simply coudnt die. Till he stood defiant in front of a Stimmer. He rolled 66 and we were all in shocked. We were all lowkey rooting for Riko, but he 's no more. Behold Roboriko, as soon as GW makes the enforcer robot model available that is. and MGM, thank you for you Necromunda videos, they are my favorite.

Yes, finally Van Saar!!! but....they got wrecked. It is to be expected though as they are a really weak faction. They only have one thing, BS and they pay for it by limiting their toughness, having no close combat potential and poor stats that just make them the weakest faction. I believe they will finish the campaign in last place. Time will tell and I have seen through time many times and can tell you how horrible the faction will become. I like their aesthetics but they have the worst rules. I can't wait to see them fight Goliath or any other melee faction. The scenarios, rules, and terrain all favor melee so they are doomed. Not trying to be negative but realistic. They look nice but will get wrecked; it's by design.
I enjoy the games and the coverage but god DAMN some really trash-brain decisions get made sometimes. A firebrand with a heavy weapon with 30" range just running around turn after turn only to pop out point blank to get shot and run away and get dropped some more...... Moronic :/

@@marcusgege2094 I needed a distraction. The weapon is unwieldy so parking anywhere would be exchanging fire against BS2/3. I needed guys on the roof and the archeotek to look at something while I tried to deal with the leader and move up.
@@MiniatureGameMontage I'm not sure what the distraction part is about? I run the Chord of Whores myself (Cawdor, chord whore, get it? Started with the Horde of Doors, it truly was a hard-knock life) so I know the weapon. In a situation like that without suspensors you're always going to be trading fire because yes, it's unwieldy, you have to move into someone's line of sight (as he eventually did) before firing so sit him in the hardest cover you can which looks at that tower from the start of the game, and shove a bonepicker in front of him to force cool checks then shoot for those 3-4 turns he spent running. He had a real chance to impact the game with even a single s4 5" template which would likely push enemies out of cover, at best wound, at worst pin, and potentially force ini checks with all those edges. Instead he went down in a doorway, ending his turn staring at another fighter with an activation marker after running for 4 turns.
Bloody awesome battle report mate. I do have to say that you and son do the best battle report for Necromunda keep up the great work.

That makes good sense to me! The gang definitely felt heavy at the start. Only 6 bodies. That’s just not enough.

Incredibly close game. That bad deadth for the Prime is worriesome, but I was expecting Van Saar to lose really badly with only six models.

I think the archeotek is not a good choice at starting, both the rad Beamer and spider rig are over costed for what they do and doesn’t match up to a second augmek instead. Yes, finally Van Saar!!! but....they got wrecked. It is to be expected though as they are a really weak faction. They only have one thing, BS and they pay for it by limiting their toughness, having no close combat potential and poor stats that just make them the weakest faction. I believe they will finish the campaign in last place. Time will tell and I have seen through time many times and can tell you how horrible the faction will become. I like their aesthetics but they have the worst rules. I can't wait to see them fight Goliath or any other melee faction. The scenarios, rules, and terrain all favor melee so they are doomed. Not trying to be negative but realistic. They look nice but will get wrecked; it's by design.
Time will tell! I'm hoping we can do a better job with them.

I enjoy the games and the coverage but god DAMN some really trash-brain decisions get made sometimes. A firebrand with a heavy weapon with 30" range just running around turn after turn only to pop out point blank to get shot and run away and get dropped some more...... Moronic :/
What would you have done? There weren’t really any spots with los outside 24”.
@@MiniatureGameMontage park that sucker anywhere he can shoot and then shoot. Considering he ran for 3-4 turns only to stand in full view and get shot anyway.
@@marcusgege2094 I needed a distraction. The weapon is unwieldy so parking anywhere would be exchanging fire against BS2/3. I needed guys on the roof and the archeotek to look at something while I tried to deal with the leader and move up.
@@MiniatureGameMontage I'm not sure what the distraction part is about? I run the Chord of Whores myself (Cawdor, chord whore, get it? Started with the Horde of Doors, it truly was a hard-knock life) so I know the weapon.
In a situation like that without suspensors you're always going to be trading fire because yes, it's unwieldy, you have to move into someone's line of sight (as he eventually did) before firing so sit him in the hardest cover you can which looks at that tower from the start of the game, and shove a bonepicker in front of him to force cool checks then shoot for those 3-4 turns he spent running. He had a real chance to impact the game with even a single s4 5" template which would likely push enemies out of cover, at best wound, at worst pin, and potentially force ini checks with all those edges. Instead he went down in a doorway, ending his turn staring at another fighter with an activation marker after running for 4 turns.
