Unfortunately the feminism movement has made hijab a symbol of female representation rather than a symbol of taqwa and piety.i have seen women who wear hijab but the rest of things they have to take care of islam are just forgotten or neglected. May Allah guide all these women .

I hate it when people refer to hijab as a piece of cloth on the head. NO. THAT IS NOT HIJAAB. Yes, say u cover your head, but don't call yourself a hijabi. Hijaab is an entire veil over the entire body that does the not reveal the shape of a women, which is loosely fitted and does not bring any attention. That is hijab. A scarf is not a hijab

Thank you for that. I had a classmate, at University in Hawai’i, who was a hijabi and in the 3 years we knew each other in school, none of us ever cared about her wearing a hijab 🧕, and none of us ever even asked her about it. But I guess, to be fair, we have all kinds of races here, and generally speaking, nobody cares if a Sikh man is wearing a turban, or a Jewish man is wearing a yarmulke, or a Japanese buddhist woman wearing juzu beads. I don’t understand why so many Americans care about other people’s religion...I mean, come on, our country was founded because they were kicked out of England for having different religious beliefs! Sorry, it’s just all so intolerant for a country that supposedly prides itself on its inclusivity.
Anyway, Nida, I hope u and ur ohana are staying safe and healthy during this pandemic. Much love and aloha from Honolulu! 😁❤️🤙🏽🌈☀️ (just symbols of Hawai’i)

The important thing is that we respect each other in the end. Hijab is an obligation on every Muslim woman, and it is a beautiful matter that increases the woman’s well-being and beauty that earns her respect. Wonderful words. God bless you brother

Women who say “I know women who wear the hijab and don’t pray and women who don’t wear the hijab and pray” wallah this statement makes me angry! Can a person justify his sin by saying “I know people who drink alcohol and pray and people who don’t drink alcohol and don’t pray” and the likes? Women who say this, what is their intention? It almost sounds like they’re belittling the Hijab. Even those it says in the Hadiths that the worst of women are those that don’t wear the hijab and that those who publicly sin will not be forgiven. Also, observe the Muslim world. The more areas with women without the hijab, the more alcohol, the more Zina, the more boyfriend and girlfriend relationships, and the more people that don’t pray. You don’t believe me? Compare Yemen, a country that has majority of its women in Niqab, to Turkey, a country in which some women publicly don’t fast! Look at Lebanon, with many women that don’t wear the Hijab, many of them drink alcohol! Compare it to Pakistani, it’s much less in Pakistani. That is because a persons actions is connected to his heart, as our prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم described to us in a Hadith, that if the heart is upright, the rest of the body will be upright, and if it’s corrupt, the rest of the body will be corrupt. Wallah these women only suffer from the ideology of feminism. They either want to be equal or have more than men. I never saw a man complain why he can’t wear gold or silver, I never saw women and men complain why they both have to pray and fast, but you’ll see women who complain about the hijab, why?!?! Because she has to cover her head and the man doesn’t. You will also see her complaining about a man having 4 wives at the same time, why?!?! Because she can’t. These women are a disease.

When you judge Islam based on people and what YOU observe and perceive, rather than going to the actual sources, it is only predictable that such distorted views will spread and prevail. This is not only in western countries, but also many so-called "muslim societies" apply the exact same approach towards religion.

In Muslim countries you can also see how many women with Niqab do a lot of horrible things as well as men who have bear. With this I'm not trying to excuse anyone or give less value to hijab/bear but to make clear that only Allah has the power to judge us. Even if our heart is linked with our body, there are people who are hypocrites so you must be careful of that. Also, you can't never know what goes on someone's mine. You can't say because someone does this and this is that or that. See the example that gave our Prophet (pbuh) of that woman who save a dog from thirsty. And she was a prostitute... Instead of expressing your anger and judging a lot of others people stories I invite you to pray for them and ask to Allah to give you strenght so you can be from those who are an example for others by your actions. May Allah forgive and guide us. Ameen.

So now I no longer cover my hair but I practise the hijab in every other way. This is a recent change and I must say, I feel super exposed showing my hair and I get much more attention from ill-wishing men. Asalamu alaikum, great video. We all know that the hijab is not oppressive to women, but I think the purpose of their video was to get the opinion of wearing the hijab vs not wearing the hijab and how those Muslim women feel about it. A scholar (man) doesn’t wear hijab, therefore couldn’t tell you their experience wearing the hijab or not wearing hijab. I have listened to many Muslim women talk about them wearing the hijab or not wearing it, they have never disagreed that it should be worn, they just talked about their experiences. Those experiences never made the hijab a negative thing, nor discouraged Muslim women from wearing the hijab. Yes, I agree that they could have titled the video differently. I also agree They also shouldn’t speak on it from a point of teaching if they have no knowledge. From an experience point of view, then yes they can tell their story.

The question is wrong. It should be: does Western society make it difficult for Muslim women to wear the hijab? Because it is the very attitude of Western societies toward the hijab that oppresses these women in the sense that it is only Muslim women who are judged when they wear it. Non-muslim women can wear whatever they want and the less they wear the more they are applauded for their "braveness".

    • @syedsaad1594
      @syedsaad1594 3 года назад +7

@@r_elyaqub8214 It wasn't that. He wasn't saying that since they weren't mothers, so they are automatically disqualified from speaking about hijab.
He was comparing our inclination towards "professionalism" as compared to our actual role in society (not that women can't be professionals, but they take it way too seriously, even though it is not an obligation upon them to become professionals and earn a living under normal situations), on the other hand, men are to focus on their careers, since we have an obligation to provide for our families and our relatives.
When you become a mother, your PRIORITIES change. And esp. if you're striving to be a true Muslim, then your priorities change even more drastically. And you want to be a role model for your children to follow and learn Islamic values from you. And if mothers don't care about Islam, then the children are gonna be worse.
So, if women come with this mindset, which is that they show concern for their children's good Islamic upbringing, then most certainly they won't be looking at Islam as a "cultural practice" and would actually take it seriously, rather than just speaking about it based on their desires and appeals.
This was all he was trying to get at. And he did mention that many of them were college students. He was talking more about the mindset.

Plus, whether you can have children or not, you still have to strive to become the best muslim, and stop looking at Islam as a "cultural" thing. We can find a thousand excuses for remaining in a sinful lifestyle, but the reality is that none of us (who believes in the hereafter) would want to die in a state of committing oppression against their own selves and others (in disobedience and transgression).

A common misconception (these days) among some Muslim women is that "hijab" is only a head covering. This is especially true among some young Muslim women who only wear a head cover (which is called a khimar) while in tight jeans or other inappropriate clothing and who call themselves "hijabis. The word hijab, an Arabic word, means curtain or partition. Its relationship to the Muslim woman's dress is that by fully covering the body from head to toe in loose (non "body con" style) clothing it serves as a type of partition or boundary between the woman and those around her. It affords the (Muslim) woman privacy and protection from those who have no right to see the size or shape of her body. I was even told once by a non-Muslim man that seeing me made him think of "God." This unexpected statement of his confirmed for me what i'd always believed; Allah (swt) in His infinite wisdom has prescribed this modest style of dress (for women) to provoke this very sentiment in every single person who views her. It, thereby, serves as both protection and daw'ah simultaneously.

Not philosophy but aqeedah is better. Many scholars warn against going deep into philosophical studies as most of it is influenced by atheist and non-Muslim thinkers and leads us nowhere

@@JA-2 Imam Ghazali is definitely no good, brother. He was all over the place, didn't associate himself with ahlus sunnah, and is adored by the make-believe sufis.
Whether he came back towards the sunnah during the last years of his life, is another topic, but his books and stuff etc. are definitely a no-no.

Personal opinions carry absolutely no weight unless they are in conformance to the Shar'ia. Come to think of it the "nafs/ego" has been among the worst FALSE GODS people worship. It needs to be broken, disciplined, purified and made subservient.

What non muslims dont understand is that here in the west, a hijabi is not oppressed from her hijab because she has a choice in the matter. Islam does not oppress women into hijab. Culture, and the dictation of unruly, controlling men does. If those cultures were to truly follow the rulings of Islam, they would allow women to choose when to wear hijab. Encourage and emphasize the obligation, yes, but do not make them feel less than, or oppress them because they choose not to. Allah swt guide who he wills, it is not your job to guide.
