The Truth About Wearing Hijab

  • Almost every Muslim woman faces internal and external battles when it comes to hijab. Whether it’s doubts about appearance, career, or societal pressures, remember: Allah wouldn’t have commanded hijab if you couldn’t bear it. Every challenge is a sign of the strength He’s placed within you. Hijab is more than an outward expression-it’s an act of obedience, resilience, and love for Allah. Your sisters in Islam want you to know: you are strong, you are capable, and Allah sees your effort. Stay steadfast. With Allah by your side, nothing is impossible.

my hijab has kept me away from committing soo many public sins i can not even begin to count, from going to harm venues, buying harm things and mingling with the wrong crowd because i didn’t wanna look out of place doing harm things while looking holy, regardless of how high or low my iman is my hijab has been a means of keeping me in the middle lane and has ensured i don’t fall too far off the deen during lows in my iman, Alhamdulilah for having the strength to wear this crown regardless of my feelings.

The one thing I love most is running into other women with a hijab, they are not so many where I am currently. We always acknowledge each other as we pass by each other. It's the definition of sisterhood

I started wearing hijab a month ago and the feeling it gives me is indescribable. I feel honored even in the face of people who met that decision with an underwhelming reaction. It put so much into perspective, too. It’s like hijab chose for me the distance and proximity of people in a way I didn’t anticipate and I have zero complaints. As of beauty, I feel more beautiful in a certain different way that I don’t quite know how to describe but it’s a type of feeling of beauty that removes the “sexy” from the equation and leaves you feeling like a valuable person that never want to be looked at with desire again. Alhamdulillah a million times.

@@LS-cj8jd subhanallah recently and especially after hijab I started to truly believe that this has always been a manufactured feeling/need that makes you feel like you’re going to get both affection and survival but really brings nothing but ruins. After hijab I felt very close to fitra and it unlocked a version of myself that I knew.. KNEW existed but couldn’t tell how to access it and ironically I tried to become that version by wearing even less layers. That’s how much we’ve been hypnotized to think that the solution to peace is anywhere but where it actually is. I cannot speak for you and whether the peace is going to kick in as quickly as it has for me BUT I can tell you it WILL kick in eventually because fitra is fitra. I wish you peace sister ❤️

I would like to say that as a hijabi from the age of 12 , months before sep 11th, it has not been easy! However, it truly is a blessing despite the struggles and the tears. It’s such an honour to be blessed by this gift. A duty to fulfill the modesty of the soul not just the physical hijaab.
It literally protects you from fitna. There is and will always still be fitnah, but trust me when I say that when you full-fill wearing it as Allah has commanded , it pushes you (or should) to act in modest ways. Protection from fitnah.

When I was a revert or before I have this conundrum in my self is wearing one obligatory?
Cause when I saw those Muslims they aren't wearing one even. But as I read the quran it helps me to understand the reason behind wearing because it's Allah commanded me to do.
For me every time I wear I feel protected and we'll preserve.

    Two reasons
    Which made me hijabi
    1. During migration there was a lady roaming here and there madly ,searching her lost daughter. Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.w inquired about her from followers. They told him, she is just searching for her daughter. Prophet asked why is she not wearing head cover. Followers said she is non muslim. Prophet gave them his shawl , and ordered them to cover her head.
    2. Muslim lady's dress for burial has two extra piece of clothes compared to males. One is for covering head and other is for covering chest.
    . . .
How i can claim my love for Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.w if i dont obey him. He covered a non muslim lady and i being a umati and muslim, not wearing hijab.
Secondly, if my body and hair is going to be rotten in soil, still Allah has ordered to cover a Muslim lady's dead body's chest and head, why i dont cover it while m alive.

I know I shouldn’t be waiting for encouragement from anyone. But Nafs and Shaytan.. especially when the video mentioned “there are worse sins than not wearing hijab” a lot of people started telling me: well before you do hijab do this and that.. or that there are a lot of obligations before hijab.. or know your Deen better then hijab comes.. I wore hijab from 13-17 and took it off because I couldn’t bear standing out and having people that I don’t know think they know me just because of my hijab. I was born and raised in Germany and I had teachers and strangers come up to me and grill me (a child!) about hijab and accuse me of being forced to wear it. I had people in public stare at me with disgust or pity all the time. Plus as a teenager, seeing all the girls at school get attention from guys and me never getting that made me desire to take it off. Now I‘m 24 and Allah knows that maybe if I had never taken it off I would have avoided so many harmful things in my life. I regret it but it is very difficult to convince myself to put it back on. I always cry when I watch videos like this because I know that I want to wear it and I know its the right thing to do.
I‘ve been to Umra and there I even wore a face covering. I love modesty and it makes me feel like nothing else. But when I return to my daily life I just can’t imagine myself doing it. I say when I get married I will put it on. But who can guarantee that I will live that long?

@user-eg1hs5qv8p hey, I Iive in Germany too. And I have started to wear the Hijab when I turned 14, today I am 19 and I completely can relate to all of the struggles you have been through. I feel like for us women living in the west the Hijab is one of the greatest trials. We are surrounded by pretty girls getting all of that attention, who are being desired by men, complimented by everyone and experience better treatment everywhere. No racism, no discrimmination, their lifes seem perfect. My sister in Islam, I personally have struggled so much with my hijab, had and still have phases where I fail to dress properly with my Hijab, I always try to remind myself that this worldly life is temporary. The people, the beauty, the attention.. all of that will fade away, already in this life beauty fades away as you age. I tell myself I am ready to fight against my personal desires in this world because I know the most merciful and compassionate has something better awaiting for me. In Jannah we will never grow old. We will appear in such beauty that we are not even able to imagine. Nothing will be mandatory for us anymore including the Hijab. And this is what is the real life we should aspire to reach. Dunya will feel like a prison to the believer, this is what the messenger Muhammad SAW has told us. My final words to you my beautful sister, I hope that my words could calm you and i pray that Allah SWT gives you the courage and strength to wear the Hijab. Amin. Be strong. Some sisters just cover their head with something, and think they are fulfilling the rights of Hijaab, although part of their hair or body is showing, or their whole neck and chest area are exposed. Actually, that was the way of the women of Jahilliyah.
Al-Qurtubi said: “Women in those days used to cover their heads with the khimar, throwing its ends upon their backs. This left the neck and the upper part of the chest bare, along with the ears. Then Allah commanded them to cover those parts with the khimar.”
So secure the scarf well around your face, covering your neck/chest area, and keep those half sleeves and capri pants for your Mahrams
Sorry.…tight jeans and short shirt just don’t cut it
You can’t wear tight jeans and a short shirt with a piece of cloth on your head and think this is Hijaab. Nor can you wear anything else that is tight, describing the shape of the body in any way, even if it is long. The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said:
“In later (generations) of my ummah there will be women who will be dressed but naked. On top of their heads (what looks) like camel humps. They will not enter into paradise or (even) get a smell of it.” (Muslim)
    ahrams
Some sisters assume that since they are properly covered, its okay for them to sit around and talk, laugh, joke, etc. with the men, but that’s not right, even if he is ‘the Shaikh’.
Allaah says:”. . . then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease should be moved with desire, but speak in an honorable manner.” [al-Ahzaab:32]
So talk to them when there is a specific need, and in a manner that is not necessarily rude, yet it is polite but firm.

When the decision comes from sincerity and the will of obeying and pleasing Allah Subhanahu WA taal then nothing is hard not even hijab. that comment really bothered me because it seemed like a brother was saying it
if any brothers out there think like this, please stop. you’re reinforcing the image that all the hijab does is cause discomfort and isolation when it’s not like that at all. it makes us feel safe and secure
if you want to comment on it, you should make sure to mention the positives of the hijab. please think about how your words might impact other Muslims, JazakAllahukhair

Not sure if you should talk to her as a man. In general it is best to avoid intimate conversation with a woman and especially if she is not covered. Maybe better if you can send a sister to talk to her.

Because so many people believe that not wearing hijab is not a big deal, we can't even talk about how one should wear hijab properly.
What's sad is that female scholars often times don't wear hijab according to the Qur'an too! The famous ayat that says, "draw your khimar over your chest" (24:31). Why do so many sisters not cover the part of their body that men find so attractive and that which God has so bluntly commanded that we cover? Or how so many sisters don't even cover their hair and neck while wearing hijab.
It's become such a norm that the one's who wear it properly are labeled extremist and are ostrasized by the majority because that one sister brings out their insecurities. Instead of admiring and aspiring to be like the sister who wears hijab properly, we choose to exclude her from our social gatherings or pressure her to wear hijab the way we do with makeup, earrings, heels, nail polish and tight ass, see-through abayas. Astaghfirllah. May Allah guide the ummah. Ameen 🤲

It´s also the other way around. Some sisters not accepting you into their "gang" because you are pious, but not wearing hijaab. It´s like, without hijaab, you cannot win their "approval". They only see sisters as hijaab vs. no hijaab. Following a command of Allah shouldn´t make us self-righteous and excluding. Otherwise, I fully agree with you sis! Especially in Desi society, one who covers properly is seen as "over the top". Desi society is just awful in so many ways. They´re always purporting to love Islam, but then showing their insecurities as soon as someone truly takes Islam seriously and prioritizes it. Old generation mothers especially...they nearly seem to hate hijaab. Especially forcing married daughters not to wear it in events when they arrive with their husband. They have this notion, that once a woman is with her husband, now she can wear the sarees with the tummy showing...as if all other men go blind once somebody gets married 🙄. Marriage for them meant "Now you can cut your hair, show your jewellery, wear the clothes you want and look MODERN and attractive". It´s a status game in front of other women, and to show "I am married, so now I´ve truly arrived". The next milestone is always "Now I have a son, so now I am Someone of value". Yuck, Desi society! You could be dying everyday married, but in other women´s eyes, you are "Someone" because you are a wife. Truly abhorrent cultures! They live and die for PEOPLE´S impressions and for material show-off.

Great clip, jazak´Allah khayr! MUCH love to all our sisters out there, wearing hijaab but also those struggling. Sisters are being rejected, side-lined and bashed for wearing hijaab. "Muslim" families trying to hinder them, Muslim families trying to force them to wear it, Muslims trying to guilt-trip them to wear it, Islamophobes trying to intimidate us not to wear it, "Muslim" men (that don´t find hijaab beautiful) trying to convince marriage-prospects to take it off, Muslims dismissing pious sisters based off of them not wearing it....the list is long and all sides seem to hate women´s autonomy and right to self-reflect. Here´s for wishing for ONE day insh´Allah, when Muslim pages post just as fervously about "Lowering the gaze" for brothers, and "Focusing on your own character, instead of focusing on women´s hijaab". It´s like our communities think that staring men is much less a problem than sisters without hijaab. And as if us wearing the hijaab will magically make the droves of men following Insta-baddies and O.F somehow stop their activities and start liking covered Muslim women. 🙄I have tried wearing burqa, STILL men would stare. I mean, I could be a MAN walking around, but they stare because they assume that it´s a woman in there...sigh. The inner sickness that is about harassing women and seeing them as objects will RARELY be addressed by Muslim pages. Needless to say, I won´t be holding my breath.
Before anyone comes commenting "Why do you have to compare?". Would you ever leave out women´s hijaab in a clip about men needing to lower the gaze? Hah...didn´t think so 😏. This ummah will never hold men accountable, for anything. That is our way, and why we are infamous (but in denial of our own part played in the world-wide impression of us). I rest in the comfort that ALLAH WILL. I would have left long ago if I didn´t have hope in Allah swt. I admit, I am Muslim only because of Allah, and Allah alone. The majority of this ummah feels unjust, negligent, ubothered about sisters and downright hateful towards girls and women (for many, even their mothers hate the daughters and rather love the sons committing haraam than the pious daughters). There, I said it....astaghfarullah, may all my sisters out there hold onto Allah as the Internet is completely flooded by sister bashing by "Muslim" podcasters and proud Red-Pillers hailing men who have made a living out of selling women (and never will you see any scholar mentioning that in their lectures). I feel like the "burden" of keeping up Islam is on women. The men are afforded to take their time, look around, play a little....and then magically remember Islam again at 38 years of age when their bones are beginning to hurt (and even then, they see it as their right to go and ruin a virgin, when they themselves are NOTHING even remotely a virgin). We Muslim sisters no longer have only one hater; the Islamophobes. Now we´re openly targeted by our "brothers" too. Hasbunallaho wa ne´mal wakeel.

Whether or not Muslim boxers adhere to this dress code is a matter between them and Allah,we try our best not to judge as Muslims,as we all have struggles that are peculiar to us,what we should do is to ask Allah to forgive them if they've erred, and guide them.

I am an arab Muslim. I think this insistence on Hijab was one of the worst mistakes made in the past 50 years. It became a matter of identity and I don't think our religion is about that. There are far more important teachings and values that need attention and they don't get 10% of the time spent talking about Hijab. One can be modest without a head covering.
Our religion is facing a crisis in the middle east. I think it is time to focus on the core values that will make our lives better.

I don’t think beauty should be measured by that alone. Because you can look at a sunset and call it beautiful. There are many things in life you can call beautiful in a pure way so I like to think of hijab as the same

Subhanallah muslim women are the most incredible women of this world.
On a side note however, I got to read a comment above and had a thought.
The west does really get mad at women for wearing hijabs. They do not even want to hear the women out, sometimes they just go straight for the men, and claim men are forcing her to wear hijab, as if women do not have their own choices (Obviously it is disgustingly horrific if any man forces any woman to wear a hijab, I would never side with a guy like that. He would honestly just be better off behind jail, straight up abuse) What I am saying here is that they do not even want to recognize that women do choose themselves to wear hijabs, which is interesting when I think about it....
Are they trying to brainwash their own people, to say that it is ok to ban it, since women never wants this, and this is not their choice? Or trying to attack women of the religion, to make them take it off? Probably a mix, but it is an interesting way to get around it, and ultimately may even pull people away from islam to them, which is a very strategic way to get around it, it is a way to seem like the protector of women, and target the guy who wants to put her in a hijab against her will, meanwhile not acknowledging they are forcefully deciding not to allow women to dress as they please, not only removing her of basic human rights, but also remove her voice and make another person the target. Basically they are telling themselves and the world, that they are heroes, meanwhile being the villains. Very weird when you think of it from a societal perspective, how this affects each individual from different walks of life.
May Allah protect our Ummah from every attack that is currently happening to the people of this religion

Saying "belittling disobedience is Shaytan's favorite tactic, and it's a sign of arrogance."... feels like an accusation/personally attack. We can use other words to describe the severity of the situation without criticizing someone and using the word arrogant. It's like calling someone fat and then thinking that'll inspire them to exercise

    • @Khwaab
      @Khwaab 2 дня назад

But "belittling disobedience" is honestly such a good choice of words. At least for me, as a non-hijaabi. I appreciate it. The rest, I agree...it does not have to be arrogance. It may be fear, insecurity (feeling ugly with hijaab), wishful thinking ("It can´t be more important than my character?") and more. Another thing people seem to forget is raw guidance and tawfeeq from Allah swt. Wearing the hijaab is connected to barakah in one´s Deen, I believe, and how ready one truly is to walk the path of "difficulty" (at least difficult if you think about dunya). I don´t think any sister not wearing hijaab thinks highly of herself, and is in arrogance...you´re onto something there. Allah will give someone tawfeeq to wear hijaab...it is not just our "choice", I think sometimes. Allah honours the sisters, but it certainly doesn´t mean that the rest are "unblessed". In fact, they may be VERY blessed in their character and even modesty (some hijaabis are just...astaghfarullah, not even wearing proper khimaar). Anyway, what do I know...?
