Seeing how genuinely emotional Jason got when he was given that photo, made my day.
I don't know what to say anymore, I keep repeating myself on these comments, yet I'm compelled to at least say 'THANK YOU!" to Tony & Jason for the podcast and the super awesome guests (like Lance here) for the incredible stories and insight! Much love!

Didbyou spend much time on Virusmäentie or Cube skeittihalli? At cube times you might have had "a bit" other things around the world tho.
another absolute banger podcast.
this podcast is becoming the vault of skateboard history.
That’s why I can not understand why they have only 42,500 subscribers. These are GOLD! Especially if you grew up in the 80s. These are so good.
Jeff Grosso would be proud ❤❤❤
Yes
It is!!!
48 year old skater here and when i saw the thumbnail for this i went and got a big bowl of cereal and sat in front of the tv like a kid watching my favorite show on christmas day. thank you for just being you lance.
I can't like and describe enough how much I love this podcast and now an interview with one of my all time favorite people, Lance!
Was having a rubbish day and a notification flashed up...Hawk V Wolf: Lance Mountain. My day just got better. BTW Ellis got style for miles...was watching the recent clips on Facebook earlier. He looks at home up there.
Hope your day is going better buddy go cruise around if you can
I freaking love Lance Mountain. He was the guy that made me feel it was ok to be a goof ball, have fun and just rip at the same time. This ep was so great, I could sit and listen to his stories for hours. Such a cool dude.
"Grandpas falling from the sky" -Mountain. Best quote in Ton'y's Documentary!
Nah
Please make Lance a recurring guest. I smile like a child everytime i see/hear him.
Yess!! LANCE MOUNTAIN!! Thank god for HV.W!!

Its maybe a bit much to ask but... What did that poem go like? 😅 I'd love to know!
Lance Mountain and he comes out with those gifts?! What an absolute great guy even decades later. I've cried and laughed so many times already
Lance is such a nice guy. I was really waiting for this episode. Thank you guys! Keep rocking!
I have never had an hour and forty three minutes go by so fast! When Ellis stood up at the end I said "no!" out loud, I didn't want the conversation to end. Gent's, that was a fantastic podcast, thank you!
Lance was such an inspiration in my teen skating years. Copied his style every move like hands on my head frontside boardslide. Thank you good sir.
Great skater to emulate when you are a kid. Hell yeah dude
Please have Lance on again so we can hear about Ellis crashing at his place?! Legendary episode once again! I’d love to hear Lance Mountain and Rodney Mullen monthly! Jason and Tony are absolutely killing it! Hearing all the stories behind the story is phenomenal 🤘🏻🤙🏻✌🏼🤙🏻
First on Lance?? No way... Anyways, first board was a Lance Mountain Future Primitive mini - black. Wish I still had it :(
Lance is easily the biggest influence on my skating from day 1!! Stoked on the stories...thx guys
It warms my heart to see Ellis get genuinely emotional about the photograph. What a beautiful human being! 🤘
Lance is such a dude 💚
Lance Mountain is the reason I skateboard. The clip of him surfing the grass still makes me wanna go skate. My dad educated us on the Bones Brigade before I can remember not knowing about them. RIP My Pops. He’d be just as stoked as I am to hear this conversation.
Skateboarding in the 80’s is hilariously similar to Midwest skateboarding now.
Grown men who've managed to preserve the best part of their childhood selves; I fucking LOVE this!❤
Ive watched this ep a dozen times over. Love it more each time. Lance is such a unique individual. Thankful for his time here and on the nine club. Powerful stories.
That was so good. Laughing so much, especially at the end. Great job boys. There must be a part 2 in the making. 😁😁
I'm so glad you guys are doing this. I started skating in 1987 at 9 years old. You guys have been my heroes for basically my whole life. I've gotten to watch all of you grow up, while I was growing up, all the while you were putting your stamp on sports, culture, and what in means to go outside and play with your friends.
Hell yeah dude, 87, 8 years old here. Still skate now at 44. Keep pushing man
I love the episodes when you guys get into the 80’s and 90’s era of skateboarding. I remember meeting the bones brigade when they toured Australia in the late 80’s,lance bailed a mctwist (on one of the most terrible ramps ever built) and his board split some kids head open. He ran over to the kid picked him up and wrapped the kids head with his t shirt. I hope you have him back on as I could listen to him tell stories for days. Definitely one of the kings of skateboarding.
Shout out to Lance Mountain. I started skating for real in 1989, and the Bones Brigade videos were massive. Lance being silly and just having a fun always translated for me and my friends. A joy to watch and big inspiration. Love you, buddy.
Just about to listen! Hoping for a lot of skate nerd chat about Whittier, "GUSTING"!?!?, Lance's Ramp and Lance's museum of skate curiosities!
I have a few hilarious Lance mountain stories. One in particular in Queens New York during a Maloof money cup contest. We get into that later. But right now, Lance mountain everything that skateboarding is supposed to be. There’s nothing else to say. That’s the bottom line. It could be argued, but it can’t be questioned. Thank you Lance, thank you for bringing us everything that skateboarding has to offer. You are an icon. You are of the epic. And you are appreciated. And even if they said they don’t, we all love you.#OfTheEpic
Please elaborate in the Maloof Money Cup situation 😆
I could easily watch another 3 hours of you guys talking with Lance
One of my favorite human beings:) Lance is in my top list of favorite skater’s. Hilarious, talented, & inspiring 🥷🏼 Love y’all’s stories ✨
❤❤❤ One of my favorite humans to ever walk the earth. The Moutain "cavemen" board in the 80's was my first *real* deck. Btw, I loved Jason's sincere appreciation receiving the gift from Lance. 🙌
This podcast is the only thing I have to look forward to nowadays. Thank you so much for all your hard work to bring these amazing stories to me and everyone watching and listening.
Not a skater but have followed skating since the 90s and seeing Lance brought me back to why I love skaters. Thanks
Lance Mountain has always been a favorite pro. Dude can skate and has character n funny as hell.
I used to see Lance at the grocery store where I was a cashier. He would always come in super early and buy those healthy green smoothies. I was always in awe. Such a nice and rad dude! Stoked to see him on this podcast
It is the best birthday gift for y'all to have Lance Mountain on the podcast for me specifically. Thank you for this.
Lance had a massive & awesome effect on skateboarding & the culture ❤ a true legend ❤️🔥✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
It's been a long wait, but it was so worth it. It's so cool how many people relate to Lance.
I have never seen you both laugh so much and it was infectious. Lance was my inspiration in skating and was so happy today when it popped up. I am still smiling and laughing to myself after watching. Thank you
Lance mountain is a beast, hill bombs are legendary
Rewatching this for the umpth time. The Slob discussion is so great. Everything else as well, but that bit… Tears.
Lance should make a podcast where he just rambles for an hour(w/ Lucero maybe?) ,I'd sub for sure
This is so great... I was 5 years old riding the Lance Mountain pro model... I think I was on the Cab, 2 years later! Love Lance!
Watching Lance sitting in the guest seat - I can't help to think how rad it would have been to see Jeff Grosso(RIP) on the show. To have seen Grosso and Ellis going back and forth would've been priceless and a helluva interview.....
You've outdone yourselves again! Amazing episode. And the chemistry between you three guys was great!
Lance Mountain as a guest?!… this episode is already giving me the vibes !
I'm itchy 2
5 minutes in and I already love this interview!!!
Turned 26, and have skated for 20 years. This podcast makes me feel very young. Thank you guys
That’s because you are very young!!!
Enjoy your last 4 years of youth! All down hill after that 🤣
Lance is the best! One of my all time favorites... You guys should get Jason Jessee on that would be amazing!
I love this, i'm 20 and it's so cool hearings about these guys growing up together and how they would just keep pushing themselves not only to learn tricks, but create new ones. Amazing❤️❤️❤️
Loved this one didn’t want it to end! Great stuff guys thank you!
yet another awesome episode guys, love your work. Lance is always great and so entertaining, thanks for this.
Love this interview with Lance, just radical insight into his perspective on the progression of skating and the people who made it all happen. 🙏🏼🤙🏼
I don't skateboard but I love watching competitions and podcasts. Great episode today.
Absolutely Amazing Episode! So much fun! Keep killin' it guys.
Lance Mountain was my favorite skater in the 80s!! Dude was always goofing around! That's what kept me interested in skating back in the day! Ever since The Search for Animal Chin, I've loved all these guys!
i came to this by accident, while watching the 2016 documentary about the 30th anniversary of animal chin. :)
this amazing. a new subscriber here. im 47 yo . originally from Colombia . you guys were my child heroes, cant wait for more videos to come :)
when lance laughs i get flashbacks of his 411vm bloopers lol
The more you see these guys reconnect, the more you realize skateboarding is a brotherhood. It’s awesome hearing their stories.
Lance was always my favorite. So awesome to see this interview!
I love lance and people like him, he’s such a rad guy. Beautiful interview
Yes. A thousand times YES! Gonna hit the 'Play' button and just sit back and smile for the next hour and 43 mins.
I’m gonna need a part two of this one.
Omg, Lance is every bit as awesome as quotes of other skaters in Thrasher detailed. I was very much an admirer of the entire Bones Brigade, and Lance was the biggest personality as reported in the literature.
Excellent episode
Holy!!! Shit!!! Fuck!!! Yeah!!! Damn, I have got to go to work, thus must watch this tonight. This might just be a valid reason to call in.🤔 Since we don't have Thrasher and Transworld to come in the mail and skate nerd out on, like we did in the '80s, Grosso's (Rip In Peace) 'Loveletters' helped fill that void. Since the 'Letters' are no more, it's things like this podcast that now fill that void. A lot of happy old skateboarders out here! -Much Love Tony and Jason
Whittier native nobody but it totally warms my heart to hear my crummy lil’ city mentioned whenever I hear it on a pod from my hero’s/absolute legends. Love you Hawk vs Wolf!
So looking forward to watching this one. Thanks chaps.
This is all fascinating. I would skate days before a NSA contests with the incoming pros and they all seemed like friends. They all cheered each other's progression. The hotel parties weren't all restricted to teams. This rang true when the pros would leave town: at the ditches and ramps everyone was accepted and everyone was cheered on for making tricks, or doing something new. I never had any sense of hard-edged competitiveness or disrespect between competitors when NSA came to town. I'm from Houston, and I refer to Kahuna and the SUAS series.
Hahahaha, man I was freaking out thinking that the podcast started without introduction. Happily it's not. Congrats about the podcast
Fantastic interview! Lance is a pivotal individual in ways this community will love even more as time goes by ❤
Please bring lance back for his insight and perspective, a truly legendary skater ❤️🔥
Lance was my favorite skateboarder. I saw Lance at a contest in Houston Tx. Me and a friend was standing on the bleachers. I started hearing this really loud clapping noise. So I look to see who was doing it and there he was Lance Mountain. I told my friend look there he is. My friend told me to go say hi to him and I was like no way, I probably couldn’t even talk to him face to face. I could talk to him now but it would be still so surreal.
Amazing as always. ❤️❤️❤️ best podcast on the interwebs❤️❤️
I think we all agree... We need a part 2! It just kept getting better and better as it went on, I didn't want it to end. I also wanted to here Lance's take on Jason living with him for (according to Ellis) a couple months until Lance had to finally tell them to leave lol. Keep em coming boys!
We badly need a Part 2, for both the Cab and Lance interviews!🙏
Lance is a legend. I remember seeing him at a Pro Contest in Tempe Az, during late 80's. I was surprised at Lance not being a good street skater. I think some of riders had hard time adjusting to Launch ramps etc.
Amazing episode guys. Love your podcast
Yes! This was so awesome. Thank you!
Such a good interview ! Incredible listening to lance painting a montage of skateboarding history. Love Lance ! Such cool dude!
Lance may be my favorite guest they have had, it’s like listening to warriors telling stories about past battles, their dynamic has been the best! Like and describe!
Jason got it right about Lance's influence.
I struggled with my friends to find anything decent to skate throughout the early eighties in northern England. However dumb the "Junk Skating" segment on Ban This was...it kinda gave us a new breath of life.
As amazing as Rodney or Tony were in their field, people like Lance and Mike Vallely were in our field.
Oh yeah! Lance has always been my favourite skater. When I first saw him in the Search for Animal Chin in 87 or 88 I just loved him from then.
He came across as just a good down to earth guy who didn't take himself and his skating seriously and was just having fun.
Finally got to actually see him live in 2008 in Wellington NZ at Bowalrama and he ripped.
Real talk - from the heart - sincere, non corporate/non phony, creative and humble jedi masters. So dope. Thank you - God speed.
What a beautiful look into the mystique of Lance, one of the best podcasts out there and this was one of the best episodes ever, love from Baltimore Tony and Jason keep shredddiiiiinnnngggg!
Anything with Lance is a must listen. Bless him.
hyyyyyypeddd for this Whittier skate city hopefully some Neil blender stories !!!!!!!!
Lance Mountain was my very first signature deck, I had no idea who or what he was about at the time, but i loved the shape, at the time everything was a bomb board.
I laughed so hard listening to this the dog came over to check in with me. Watching Lance and Jason messing with each other while Tony tried to keep them reined in was a beautiful thing. So enjoyable!
Unquestionably the best episode yet, Lance rules!
Finally Lance! My 8th grade skate inspiration.
Amazing interview/conversation.. !! Lance is Awesome..!!
❤🛹
I haven't hated any episodes so far. I definitely didn't hate this one either. I didn't know what an imp Lance was. Awesome, boys. Keep it up!
Lance is the OG who always keeps it real 💯
Just awesome, what a legend, cheers guys.
"my eggplant was based on your eggplant" 😂😂
Really cool to see how emotional some people get when thinking about skating memories.
The set up on the Everybody was genius!! Lance killed it on this episode!
I was at the Eurocana Summer Camp 1985 life was good! 😃 Keep skating!
1982 to 1988, I had every Powell pro board except Lance's. My friend had the silver version of Lance's pro model
