I own an oculus rift and bought fsx inside which puts you inside the cockpit. I must admit it is mind blowing, and very realistic. You sense height, speed, change in air speed etc, and experience of sitting in a normal scaled 3d cockpit. Resolution is a bit low due to hardware, but it doesn't distract you from the fact that is as close to a full sim as is possible on a pc.
I've been using Chase Plane for about 4 months now. I agree with everything you said. Super sleek design for the UI. It's sped up my production times, and the over all footage I get is a lot smoother and a lot more cinematic. Just so many options at our disposal now and endless possibilities. Now if we can just get this on X-Plane!
Yet another reason I love watching your videos! I purchased EZDok last year after watching someone do a tutorial on setting it up. I had seen it being used in a video and found out what it was and I became interested in having it for my sim! Well, I purchased it, and after installing it, I attempted to follow the instructions on setting up the different views that I wanted and NOTHING worked. None of the keyboard stuff worked, it screwed up the normal views on P3D and it was just a huge cluster! I uninstalled it and haven't attempted it again since. I just now saw your video on Chase Plane... I'm just amazed with how easy it is. The GUI just looks so user friendly, especially compared to EZDok. You were definitely right to call Chase Plane the EZDok Killer!! I know I'm over 3 years late seeing this video but as always, I love watching them and I always enjoy listening to your commentary! Take Care! Mike
Used EZDOK1 for a long time and went for the $12 upgrade to EZDOK2. Got really frustrated with some aspects of it, including the changing of flight dynamics (something that I don't want in a camera addon). I was hesitant to get Chaseplane because it's still in alpha and its price tag. But last weekend I got weak (based on the reviews from multiple channels) and pulled the trigger. Two flights later I must say I couldn't be happier. To anyone with EZDOK1: save the $12 and go directly to Chaseplane...do it...now!
For me, I love the static camera feature that was broken in Ezdok. It's amazing for me to replay my landing, and also great for movie making. I also love how it stores stuff in the cloud, it's especially useful for re-installs... Before getting Chaseplane, I thought that it was some elitest program with a superfluously pretentious UI and wouldn't really be a replacement for Ezdok - I just stuck with what worked. But now, I can't live without chaseplane...
***** Call me crazy, but I actually considered EZDok v2 as it was only a 12 dollar upgrade. (Actually, I'd say downgrade...) Then I heard the thing about it modifying flight dynamics and stuff... And then I decided to make the switch. And boy am I glad I did. The experimental features/builds were more stable than even the most stable releases of ezdok... It's a wonder
The choice I had was buy Chaseplane for $40 or upgrade my EzDok to v2 for $12. EzDok v2 seems to do most of what you showed us with Chaseplane. No Cinematic mode, but I bet that'll come soon now. I would like Chaseplane, the UI looks really pretty and easy to use, but v2 of EzDok is pretty good too, no more messing about with multiple exe replacements hidden away in some forum. That was the thing I didn't like about v1.
Does it still do that even if you have the dynamic effects switched off? As a side note, I had an issue yesterday with a corrupted file in my v2 install. The guys at ezdok responded to my email within 10 minutes and had it sorted 30 minutes later. So no worries about support etc, I know they did seem to just fall off the planet at one point.
Only one switch can cancel the impact on the dynamics in EZCA2. But if you learn how to configure EZCA correctly, the dynamics of each aircraft is improving! ChasePlane has no such engine effects and very much behind, especially for light aircraft.
Hey Matt, I just wanted to say thanks. You were one of the only reasons I pursued higher-level simulations and payware addons, and I'm so glad I purchased things like the PMDG 737 and the Aerosoft A320. I'm hoping to purchase the 777 or the 747 and the QW 757 and QW 787 when it arrives. I'm in the process of replacing all of the freeware I got from when I was younger to payware high-quality addons. So thanks for propelling my interest (no pun intended) in aviation and making tutorials for my favorite aircraft like the PMDG 737. I'm glad you're getting back into routine uploads.
Matt I think you need to know this, if you want many views of let's say a wing, you title them wing 1-2-3-4-5 but make them ALL use the same key/ button . Just press the key button and it just goes though them all.
Great video Matt. I am one week into CP and am now loving it. Frustrating at first due to lack of full documentation, however I knew when I purchased it, as it is still Alpha, so no complaints there. But thanks to Keven at FSFX and the AVSIM Chase Plane Forum as well as users like you that do videos, it makes the learning process so much easier. My greatest challenge is to determine how many camera presets to have. I think I have too many and that causes a huge challenge on what keys or buttons to assign as shortcuts, there are only so many. I have now added a Logitech F310 (Xbox 360) controller as Keven and others have recommended that for extra buttons and keys. it wasn't until I started deleting many of the keyboard key assignments in FSX (that I never use anyway) that things are just today making more sense. Maybe the thing to do is limit the number of camera presets for inside and outside and then do as you seem to do which is to use the arrow keys to move about. My Preferences are setup exactly as you have. Did you create labels for the different keys or buttons to know what does what? Now, besides my CP comments and questions. I am curious what you use for creating videos as this is something I would also like to fool with?
At the moment I have EZDOK. Idk about chaseplane. Probably, I will get it coz the cinematic mode is amazing! And its so good to see Matt making such kind of videos again. I am soo glad. Thanks a lot Matt!
I was one of those who bought (upgraded from v1) EZDok v2. Then when I found they 1) had not done any major improvement apart from a polished UI and 2) that it was was still buggy and 3) that it really went DEEP in to the system and FS modifying things and 4) that there was no easy way of easily uninstalling it and 5) that it was intervening in Flight Dynamics (crashed B744 v3 on autoland) and 6) that there was no support apart from an non English speaking and arrogant developer (who had dissapeared for years and only showed up after Chaseplane emerged) and a poor guy in Simforums trying to cover the developer's a*s to no avail ... I bought CHASEPLANE Alpha. All I can say its FANTASTIC and in nothing to compare to EZDok. I am a chaseplane fan for good now and really regret all the troubles I had in running updating setting up etc. EZDok. Matt by the way what do "we all know for what that is" @19:47 ?
It's a lie . I think Kevin paid for advertising. EZCA can not be worse than the shit that you advertise because it's shit stolen from the first version of the ezca. There is a correspondence in which Kevin asks the author to share data eka. It's very unpleasant that Kevin is so blatantly lying.
Why I got Chaseplane? It works. It gives me freedom to move around MY aircraft, not relying on presets coming with the addon. The effects are so immersive that it gives me 1 more reason to load up my sim and fly. I love it, and thanks to you Matt Davies, I found it! Honestly one of the best addons for my sim I have invested in!
no its actually more ezdok v3+, since ezdok v1 and v2 still don't provide any real support and you can get support for chaseplane and even features added sometimes within hours its far ahead.

Matt thank you so much for putting this video out. After watching this I'm sold! I want to get Chase Plane. Awesome video with the 747 and San Diego scenery.
Hi Matt, I was considering EZdok when I found out about this and purchased ChasePlane instead, I really like the Cinematic mode I actually ended up being charged twice as I mistakenly thought my credit card purchase didn't go through and proceeded to use paypal, I'm sure that the helpful team at chaseplane will sort this out though. Thanks for the review :)
(1) Can you still look around and zoom with the middle mouse button, and turn knobs with the wheel if your are not pressing the middle mouse button? I am asking because you say that the middle mouse button opens a menu. (2) Is there an outside view that centers on the airplane and lets you go around and zoom with the middle mouse button? Thanks for the video Matt appreciate the tips. I have had chaseplane for a few weeks now unused you made me get it going..awesome intro. Very happy to finally have a P3D camera system up to the xplane standard. Finally! Thanks
I got ezdock v2 when it was released and since I didn't already have v1, I was quite hyped. However, I was quite disappointed as it ruined the flight dynamics of the aerosoft airbus, pmdg 737, majestic dash 8 etc and over exaggerated all the effects. After finally finding out about chaseplane, I immediately decided to pick it up and it is brilliant. Apart from setting up presets, I havent really adjusted any of the settings. It runs right out the box!
awesome video,I used to be with FSX since 2006 til 2016 ,now I'm using xplane 11 , so 11 years passed and FSX still motivates people to make add-ons ,I can't wait to see a new flight Sim made by Ace studios again ,the only reason I quited FSX is cos if you play to much with the views it will crash ,at least it crashes when I changed views so much
How can you do the 'float around behind aircraft' camera view as can be achieved in EZCA eg Camera flying as if its in a chasing plane, moving above , below, left and right as if approaching - for example typical approaching to re-fuel effect?
I've had EZDOK since christmas of 2015 and holy shit did this add on make a difference. Let's begin with the setup, it took me two days to sort out all the bugs and glitches with EZDOK. When I installed Chaseplane, I literally was looking for some catch because it seemed way to easy to install. Let's move on to other things, I could never get a wing view because EZDOK would always move the camera without my input which always frustrated me. Ok chaseplane, it was so easy I was blown away. One last thing THERE ARE ACTUALLY WORKING WORLD CAMERAS (although there isn't a mode to follow the plane, which I wish there was)
Switch from ezdok to chaseplane and happy with that. As you said, ezdok 2 is breaking the flight dynamics. Fslabs with ezdok 2 is impossible to fly (with the effects enabled) one question, do you turn off the builtin effects of the pmdg 747 when using chaseplane?
hi matt hope you get everything sorted out from the last video by the way a good way to get your time management things sorted out is to make a list in the morning of everything you have to do and the go about your day as you would and then go back to your list and see what you did and what you didn't do and then find out how you can manage your time for that better
If this is what your going to be doing now on video wise I am very happy I am happy what ever you upload but plane vids where it's just you and us I am incredibly proud thanks Matt
Great video, very impressive software! However this is all stuff you can do in editing programmes like Premiere Pro and After Effects for free! (Providing you own the editing software)
Matt Davies no no I get it! But realistically most people who are likely to use this software are probably content creators and will already own editing software .. only saying this because I'm trying to be friendly!
That's a pretty stupid comment. Sorry, that's the dead honest truth. Provided you already own the editing software.... If you did, you know know that it costs a boatload of money and is NOT EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO THE SAME THING.
My excuse for not getting Chaseplane is because I'm in NZ studying ATPL (A) Ground school. Looks good though, might be worth getting when I get back to the UK. Although I would be interested in seeing a review on EZDOK V2 if you get around to using it.
It's a wonderful add on Matt. For me it's better than ezdok and easier to create lots of cameras with their effects. Continue your videos Matt they are very good
one gripe i have with chaseplane is the crashing. Just a crash once a while. It's still in alpha but this buy was worth it imo. Great video matt, keep up the good work.
I never understood why I would need this. What is wrong with using the default mouse look around in P3D? Just press space. Up or down with shift+enter and shift+backspace. To cycle through views (which many paywayre aircraft have defined anyway) just assign a a button on the joystick. I don't see myself paying 39€ just so that I can go to the view I want without cycling through it. Or move to the center of the cockpit. Now if you make stylised and cinematic videos I guess this is a must have, but for regular flying I think the price is much too steep. Aerosoft will sell you an entire plane for the price, dovetail the whole sim. All this does is camera views on buttons and moving inside the vc. For a 10er great. But not 39.
Regarding to the stutters does that happen when only recording P3D or does it happen anyways whether or not your recording or is Chaseplane causing that.
No effect on fps performance? And speaking of fps even if my fsx fps isn't the best will the camera transition still move smoothly like when you look around the cockpit, jumpimg from panel to panel, you know what I mean.
haha... first impression Uninstall Ezdok... I never use Ezdok, I would say that ChasePlane is the best Camera addon, no regret , but it still in ALpha, I hope that the new update will be a stable version..... nice video Matt ;)
Now in July 2018 I am trying to find where to buy it and how much, and whether I am buying Alpha or Beta or finished product and it is extraordinarily difficult to get clarity. Any tips?
I am having some problem with my EZDok v2.....When I turn it on, it is difficult for me to turn it, when I switch it off....Its all good! I would love to have chaseplane, but don't have money to buy it :(
Looks cool and all, but I wonder how well it plays with FlyInside P3D. Also, planes never land on 09 at KSAN, it's 27 all for landings and takeoffs all day everyday :p
This is more of an advert for ChasePlane than anything else. where are the not so great things like that your settings are stored in "the cloud" and the thing is useless if your internet connection fails? I also don't like generic camera shakes, i think they should be custom made for the particular aircraft by the developer not by a camera system.
Comparing ChasePlane with EzDok v2 I see that all the effects ChasePlane a copy EzDok v1! What environmental and physical factors could there be? The actual impact of the air environment on the plane you will see in EzDok v2. You just compare and see for yourself.
Does it work on xplane? Also I think the only reason I thought I might like it is so I can press a button and be suddenly looking at a different control panel. But you don't think that's a good thing. I'm not sure why else I'd want it. I think there are add ons to make planes more realistic in xplane (realistic packages or something) that make your head bob around, etc. Maybe those other flight sims don't have these packages?
Tim Quain For ground roll, landing, and g-force effects use HeadShake by Simcoders. It’s free. For the one-button-view-switching functionality, you can set that up natively in X-Plane or you can use the X-camera plugin. It is also free of charge. Hope this helps.
audiojungle.net/collections/2920485-atmospheric-music/?utf8=?&sort_by=sales_count&type_id=2920485 You can buy it from there and it's called "Soft Motivational Ambient" Enjoy :)
I enjoy your videos, Matt, just only if they weren't over 30 minutes. I understand it takes a long time to edit your videos and especially rendering it, but if you can make your videos no more than 15 minutes, I would be the happiest subscriber. Thanks Matt.

Omg i scrolled down just when he said that and read that exactly at the same time as he said it.
That was a great comment!

Hi Matt, I was considering EZdok when I found out about this and purchased ChasePlane instead, I really like the Cinematic mode
I actually ended up being charged twice as I mistakenly thought my credit card purchase didn't go through and proceeded to use paypal, I'm sure that the helpful team at chaseplane will sort this out though.
Thanks for the review :)
We are not talking about emotions, we are talking about physics :-D Awesome!
Just like it was in the old FSX.
These are the points that I missed in EZDOC (or could not get working, my fault). And that is why I used OpusFSI all the time.
Great video by the way!
Thanks for the video Matt appreciate the tips. I have had chaseplane for a few weeks now unused you made me get it going..awesome intro. Very happy to finally have a P3D camera system up to the xplane standard. Finally!

Matt Davies bye bye EZdock
I've had EZDOK since christmas of 2015 and holy shit did this add on make a difference. Let's begin with the setup, it took me two days to sort out all the bugs and glitches with EZDOK. Hi matt, nice to see a return to the new
Thanks Matt, I was wondering which way to jump as I have EZDok Ver 1.
Looks like ChasePlane it is!
Love the 'face to face' talk like you said in your previous video. Keep it up Cpt. Matt. Hope you are doing well

Although I would be interested in seeing a review on EZDOK V2 if you get around to using it.
Good progress matt! But what happend to your fps?
Not on the latest version, latest version is 3.4.22.19868 which fixed vas issues
ClashinJon ?
It's a wonderful add on Matt. For me it's better than ezdok and easier to create lots of cameras with their effects.
Continue your videos Matt they are very good
Matt, could you tell me if i would get better fps in FSX with a graphics card rather than using the integrated stuff. Thanks and great vid
one gripe i have with chaseplane is the crashing. Just a crash once a while. It's still in alpha but this buy was worth it imo. Great video matt, keep up the good work.
I bought it, and was impressed. Question: what is the aircraft you flew at the last few minutes of the video? thanks.
.. and what is the airport you landed?
Thanks for the video which I found from Chaseplane's web site... Just wondering which screen capture you use?? No issues there?? Thanks....Laurie
He uses streamlabs OBS streamlabs.com/
Does chaseplane fix the bug where your camera shifts when youre closer to the equator while turning?
Amazing video, great review and great gag at the start haha.
ChasePlane seems very good and I have high expectations of the addon, I think I might get it when it fully releases :)
Thanks for a good review Matt. Dave.
Now in July 2018 I am trying to find where to buy it and how much, and whether I am buying Alpha or Beta or finished product and it is extraordinarily difficult to get clarity. Any tips?
ChasePlane seems great but 39$?
Beautiful new style of video, looking forward to more!
But u need to sort dem stutters out.
Great review Matt, i am seriously considering getting this software since i do not have any camera app.
Does it do the same things like EZdok but better?
I watched this and enjoyed it even though I have had chaseplane for months. 10/10
hi Matt very good video, could you tell me how to map my hat switch on Saitek x52 to chaseplane using p3d v4
Thanks Matt, really great stuff. Lots of information. Nice job!
Matt is back :)
Are the stutters in the video as bad on your local monitor? Is this a result of recording the video?
I am having some problem with my EZDok v2.....When I turn it on, it is difficult for me to turn it, when I switch it off....Its all good! I would love to have chaseplane, but don't have money to buy it :(
mate the link in the desc to get it doesnt work please help I rlly want it
Do you control the camera with middle mouse Button as in ezdok?
Yes he said it in the video
Amazing effort, well done!
Looks cool and all, but I wonder how well it plays with FlyInside P3D. Also, planes never land on 09 at KSAN, it's 27 all for landings and takeoffs all day everyday :p
Honestly, for the price, EZDok 2 I feel is a better deal. Then again I don't make FSX videos so that probably makes a difference.
I've been using Chaseplane now for lets say since my Birthday 23rd May 2018 -Wednesday-. I would be hppy to pay more than £29!
I bought it because of its ease of use. The UI is brilliant.
You just compare and see for yourself.
how to get the "debug values" under the Preferences button ??
Since I installed Chase planes instead of EZDOK i have problems with VAS resulting on a OOM problems 😒
Nice to see videos like that. I'll watch it later, though
Is there any good free camera programme?
nope
will you do more ttrain sim 17?
does it works in fsx acceleration ?
Chaseplane makes world cameras. IM ALREADY FUCKING SOLD
can u add a camera inside vc VIEWING THE PILOTS???? >VERY GOOD QUESTION
Can you fly Bali or ST Marteen?
even without any add-ons,a fresh install ,it still crashes when changing views alot ,if I don't mess with views than no problem
It crashes when i load the flights. Can you help me to fix it guys thanks??
I need them to delete my cloud presets, is it possible?
can you record flights with this thing?
ok thanks
ChasePlane support the TrackIR ? :)
No problems, thanks ! :)
where is the airport on a mountain at the 31:07
Any idea how/if it works with flyinside VR?
after research ... nope not currently! 😭
Those stutters are ridiculous, I'd dump that addon.
Edit: You got stutters for that GA plane too?
Are those stutters from chaseplane? Looks horrible
what scenery for KSAN?
must be latinvfr
PLEASE WHATS THE MUSIC FROM THE INTRO CALLED! I ASKED YOU A LOT OF TIMES PLEASE RESPONSE
audiojungle.net/collections/2920485-atmospheric-music/?utf8=?&sort_by=sales_count&type_id=2920485
You can buy it from there and it's called "Soft Motivational Ambient"
Enjoy :)
If you've asked a lot of times and he hasnt told you, He probably isnt going to.
I enjoy your videos, Matt, just only if they weren't over 30 minutes.
I understand it takes a long time to edit your videos and especially rendering it, but if you can make your videos no more than 15 minutes, I would be the happiest subscriber.
Thanks Matt.
For FSX you can only run this program in Windowed Mode so a no go for me. Other than that it looks like a better product than anything available.
Hey Matt could you do some more Australia flights I love them
bro,worth every penny
