- First time showcasing the Captainsim 757 on my channel. We're flying flight ICE430 (Icelandair) service from Keflavik (BIKF) to Glasgow (EGPF). Also new to the channel is GSX level 2, which causes us so many issues. In this video we depart Keflavik in some gusty conditions bound for Glasgow which is being hit by storm Ali.
Also I have a new audio set up now - I think it sounds better, but I'll let you be the judge of that!

I really appreciate the way you hold developers accountable. I'm using GSX 2 I have it working fine but I agree with you it is absolutely not, at all, intuitive. The developer is a lot more defensive than they are helpful towards their customers. Also your comment on the CS757 forcing the PW variant purchase is right on point. Alway's enjoy your videos Matt, at least we have one true advocate for the flight sim consumer.

The problem you had seeing the container through the fuselage happened because the 757 doesn't use containers IRL. Bags are individually loaded.

to get rid of the autothrottle warning @36:44 in the video press the black button on the sides of the throttles.
Perhaps GSX was trying to break the Guinness Book of Records for fitting passengers in a van!

An idea for projectfly is a simply phone app so users can track their flight while they are away from their sim
You can send your flight plan route on PFPX directly to your FMC via co route, saved you needing to add it all manually.
your sim performance and stability is quite astonishing.
i am still struggling to do some proper tuning.

Matt great to see a Boeing classic, a shame that Icelandair are the only carrier to still fly this high performing bird. Many a happy memory in the mid-late nineties riding the 757 under a number of liveries/carriers across Europe & South America. Looking forward to the next instalment, will you have to use the lever of shame I wonder... lol

Enjoyed it! FYI.. The RB211 really starts that fast on the 757... Much much quicker than the PW2040. And you definitely have to turn both packs off to start an engine.

Have to agree about GSX Level 2, its far from perfect especially with Cargo aircraft. GSX had it's issues but not this much. Anyway good video as always Matt (Y)

I will be using project fly really soon, just waiting on a repair to my rudder pedals! Loving the content, it's always scary to fly BIKF, I made that mistake a as my last flight a few years back, looking forward to returning to simming!!

this gsx level 2 update is super high priced considering what you get ... its basicaly nothing except of the passengers moving in and out
Agreed. It's great in theory but no way is it worth more than ten dollars
especialy when you fly with a 747, and instead of 2-3 huge busses arriving at the same time, there is the small one coming for like 5 times, making it take 25minutes to board
I mean to be fair, if a 747 landed at a tiny airport that could hypothetically be realistic...
ye, but not if you are at EHAM, KJFK or ZBAA or whatever there is that serves 747s on a daily basis ;)

Your plane is named after a mountain in the central part of Iceland. Snæfellsjökull. Been there, amazing place. The name basically means Snowy mountain (Snæfell) while jökull means glacier. Also, jökull is added to distinguish it from other mountains with similar names ;) I’m crazy for Iceland and everything Scandinavian. My profile picture is actually an Icelandair 757’s cockpit in 2015 haha. Ok I’ll stop now 😝

Matt, max motoring for engine start on the 757-200 RB211 engine is 25% N3 (says Boeing)...look for N2 on the display (Ca Sim not that sophisticated).
Personally, have had no issues with GSX Level 2. In fact I’ve enjoyed it loads. One thing I find annoying is that I don’t knkw how to put in there custom jetways. It’s good tho
GSX is screwed up yes, I look forward to new big update of UGCX 1.4.

There is another bug in the plane. To start the FOs clock you have to turn the knob on the left side, as if you were doing the captains clock. The system doesn’t follow the textures
