Like Edmonton, it's got a lot of great transit bones that just need to be stitched back together...

Ottawa did good at having extensive recreational pathways in summer via NCC, but it seems to have resulted in the city not caring a lick about bikes anywhere else. Outside of the newer infrastructure around the train stations and the aforementioned recreational paths , the cyclist is typically squeezed into the car infrastructure as an afterthought. Painted crumbling bike gutters that go to no destination or end abruptly dumping into contested traffic lanes. And OMG Ottawa transportation planners, F$%& right off with the high speed slip lanes. I am fairly certain the people who think these are a good idea have never actually noticed the blinders drivers put on when they enter these lanes. Each one should have a sign saying "Cross At Your Own Risk".

Otrawa public transit is absolutely terrible and it will never be good because the city is run by idiots. A trip that takes 20 minutes in a car will take you 3 hours by bus (one way), and don't even get me started on the LRT.
