A masterful performance in tribute to Doc. Billy is not only a masterful performer and musician but a true historian of music. The guy is genius.
I admire his talent and respect for those who came before him. A true class act! I LOVE Doc Watson. It is clear he does too. Excellent taste in music, my brother. You did Doc proud!
Clarence was my late grandfathers cousin. I grew up hearing the stories being played. My grandfather was Kenneth Ashley born in Martinsville grew up between the mountains of NC and Winterhaven Florida. Clarence Ashley used to run shine with Junior Johnson back in the prohibition days and secrets along with stories got passed down

I haven't had to much exposure to bluegrass except a couple festivals with people playing and what not but this guy right here will make you wanna listen to it. Ive listened to more bluegrass in the last couple days since RUclips recommend this to me then I ever have

Actually, it's referred to as an "Old Soul", which means a focus on where the music comes from (and being able to play it) like the pioneers. It rounds out the present-day musician from just the technical wizardry, virtuosity, musician, that are nowadays a dime a dozen. It shows depth and appreciation along with the technical skills. 😁
