What I love about David Lee Roth is that through it all, he has always been Dave. Unapologetic, outspoken, honest, in your face, completely batshit crazy Diamond Dave. I can't think of anyone who has had more fun with this crazy thing called life.
I saw DLR on tour in 1988... most entertaining live concert I've ever seen. Man... Steve Vai. DLR and VH songs. Steel drums ensemble. The guys playing the Beatle's "I've just seen a face". DLR doing a tapping solo on Vai's guitar. DLR flying over us on a surfboard. It happened 21 years ago and I still remember every minute of it.
Dave in his 'excessive stage set.' He got those guys to do things VH would never do....amazing what he talked them into. And....uh....it worked, he made money.
@Hunkola Dave always picked the prettiest girl out of the backstage room, and quickly left the scene. She, being escorted outside and Dave going off with his body guard. lol!
Saw Dave's solo tours in '86 and '88('86 the better of the two) and they were good, but I also saw Van Halen in 1981, '82, and '84 and there is no comparison. The original Van Halen should have done one more tour in 1986. It would have blown away Dave's tour and the 5150 tour.
you know...i don't know about the rest of you, but every once in a while i have a dream that dlr falls from the air while doing one of those stunts & splats on the stage never to perform again. how beautiful that dream really is.
The Bible says Sinners shall not inherit the kingdom of God for the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and the eyes of the Lord are on the the anger of the Lord is on sinners Jesus said what's a profit a man gain the whole world and lose his own soul there must be an existence of hell it's in the Bible you don't die and go back to dust the soul lives forever except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God
That was a brilliant tribute. No one performs like that now days
Dave is not only a rock icon, he is also a true showman!

Legend. DLR.
dave is the man, he always has things to say, never a bad day for that guy
Classic DLR .... never disappoints!!!
Dave had a good run for about fifteen years. 1978 - 1993.
Nope. 1978 - 1982 was he"s run. A GREAT run but in 82 he began to loose his Voice and went more and more Las Vegas and less Rock N Roll😦..
Got some pretty pumped up guns there, David!
You know when Dave talks and some of his actions remind me of Spicoli
At 4:33, the best part is the model snorting with laughter at Dave.
Where can I get some of this footage on DVD? Thanks for sharing man!!!!
geniooooooooooooooooooo
I saw the Eat 'em and Smile show back in '86. I consider it the 7th Van Halen album.

Comical way go Mr. Roth
Fun to watch.
I sure wouldn't want to be in a relationship or a band with him tho.
uulllk, those spackle remnants are starting to itch.
I always thought the brunette was Dave's sister because she sort of resembles him in the California Girls skit.
now it's just getting crazy in here...i think it might be from the heat. whhaaa whhhaaa whhaaa whhhaaa!!!
@Hunkola Dave always picked the prettiest girl out of the backstage room, and quickly left the scene. She, being escorted outside and Dave going off with his body guard. lol!
@David Lee Roth oh we have met more than once. I may be one of the few to shake only your hand. haha
@David Lee Roth I was born at night, but not last night. You're obviously NOT Diamond Dave. lmao

After seeing this, I dont see him as a prick to much anymore.
you know...i don't know about the rest of you, but every once in a while i have a dream that dlr falls from the air while doing one of those stunts & splats on the stage never to perform again. how beautiful that dream really is.

"........I think we went through 31/2 couches before........"
Girl on right starts laughing-

Never combine spandex and cocaine
Christopher Landrum turns you in a gaymillionair
do you think after all the years of partying (cocaine abuse) that dlr has a large amount of spackle built up on his colon walls?
That lucky mofo!
