How many miles are you at? I’m definitely gonna try to find a tougher head gasket when the motor gets built, hoping I can avoid any issues in the future
@@NickTrelford I’m almost at 160k. Yea I’m deff buy a whole new engine and just throw it on there. Found one near me with 120k miles and the one I have now I’m fully rebuilt it with my dad and uncle
Definitely worth it man these motors are still pretty cheap for now, I guess people haven’t caught on to these things yet but that’s good for us in the meantime😂

Thanks man! We’ll see haha, I’m planning to 6MT swap it soon enough but the auto hasn’t skipped a beat so far-there’s quite a few auto Type-S/4G guys who’ve never run into issues so I think it’ll last longer than I need it to lol!

Are you planning on getting dyno'ed if you havent already? mind asking how much boost you're running? setup is clean ive got a 07 TLS 5AT in Kinetic Blue Pearl with some bolts on but im sure that rotrex takes it to another level
Yeah definitely, I want to make sure its making the power I think it’s making instead of just assuming-and it’s ~10psi at redline so pretty conservative🙌

Hey man, im considering buying a manual TL-S and was wondering if you think I'd also be able to daily it? Id be pretty conservative when it comes to power and beating on the car because I already drive like a grandma lmao. And I live in PA, DRob is the only place I'd take the car to get tuned
My bad man just seeing this-you can 100% daily a Type-S no problem, I still daily mine in the warmer months with it being boosted and I haven’t had a single issue! DRob is the man for tuning💪 Only reason I don’t drive it in the winter is because of all of the salt on the ground here in Ontario, completely destroys cars🥲
How's the rust underneeth for 400k km? Such a nice TL!
Bought mine 3 yrs ago for, wife's car. Daily all year round. At 253kms now. Krown rust proof has helped keep the rust mostly just surface rust. Just got the timing belt done today too. Such a great amazing all around car I hope to get 10+ yrs out of it for sure!
Surprisingly not bad at all! A few bolts/braces I’d like to powdercoat just to get the surface rust off, but really good for the mileage-the previous owner was pretty meticulous when it came to keeping the car clean! Love to hear about other higher mileage TL’s running strong, these things are awesome!
I recently bought an 06 TL, I’m planning on doing some mods on it, not sure how the engine/ transmission would withstand to any NOS injection though
I think it would be fine as long as you don’t go too far over that 425whp mark on spray, but I honestly haven’t seen too many guys do it-would definitely be unique and surprise a lot of people!
u think the 18x9.5 wheel and 225/40 tire setup would sit similar on a 07 accord ? or should i go 18x8.5?
i goin for the lil bit of poke look and still able to sit low without crazy rubbing

i got a TL SH AWD, looking to mod it. Just wondering what type of power you can run on a stock motor?
I think up to 500whp is doable on stock internals, but between the 400-450whp mark if you’re looking to daily drive it just to keep it safe IMO!
The 08 type s Im buying has 180k miles but I’m sure these cars can go for more miles if well-maintained right? I Google is saying somewhere around 250,000 to 300,000 miles then it might need a refresh at that point. What do you guys think? This TL is white and in relatively good condition and the service is done to include timing belt. Your car is a sleeper for sure and my STI is for the most part if you don’t look at the front. We were commenting back and forth on another video but I think I’m going to get that 08 type s 6 speed but it’s in white though so I might wrap it in black. I agree with you just build it if you blow it up. I’ve done it before lol. I’m subbed now as I would like to see more videos and I’ll be posting my type s if I get it.
I would check that the transmission has had its recommended services/flush done. Bad trannys affected TL’s from like the 90s-2015ish. It’s this cars Achilles heel tbh $$$
@@adventsociety5382 even the manual trans? I read it was more the 05 to 07 trans and In 08 they fixed it but I only want the manual trans type s and I found one the only one I’ve seen on market place

@@adventsociety5382I know it’s an old post but I ended up getting the 08 TLS 6 speed and it’s a fun car and I won’t be supercharging it but it feels pretty quick for what it is. It was stock so I didn’t intake, muffler delete and J pipe.

How did you get your front bumper to have those cool clips ?
They’re just generic Password JDM bumper clips drilled in! I believe you can get them for pretty cheap on Amazon, but just a heads up, the elastics they come with deteriorate pretty quick so I’d recommend zip ties🤙
Does the supercharger kit effect the reliability of the engine?
At the power level I’m at, not really to be honest-I’ve seen guys running this kit for years with no issues whatsoever, but obviously more power=more stress on components so I’m sure there’s an argument that can be made that it’s “less reliable”, but the difference would be negligible if at all
Just got a 07 tl type s at. Hear a bunch of bad things bout the autos but I wanna know from you how long you think the the trans will last? Cause I don’t care much about manual or not just want a fun daily
The bad autos are the pre 2007’s, and the Type-S has an additional trans cooler(‘07/‘08 base might a well, not sure) so they’re honestly not bad at all-I’ve beaten the absolute hell out of this one since boosting it and it’s held up perfectly fine, never skipped a beat!

If she runs healthy right now I’d just do any preventative maintenance you can and send it lol! There’s a ton of super high mileage J-series builds that are still running strong💪
