Awesome content man, appericate you sharing this build on youtube. I have a 07 TL-S 5AT in KBP as well, have you done any kind of preventative mods or upgrades to the transmission? Always thought about doing the GB rotrex kit but im over here in Cali so getting it smog certified would be a pain
Thanks man!🙏 I haven’t had time yet but I’ll be doing new OEM pressure switches and a trans flush/fill with the Redline trans fluid mix recommended by Andy-it seems to hold up really well after that, there’s a guy who’s been running 500+whp for years and had no issues whatsoever with the 5AT!

Also on the resonators- you’ll want two. I am on the exact same journey here with a 6-6 accord. 2 vibrants and a muffler is still loud. Better, but still loud.
Yeah I’ve been wondering if I should get a second one on order just in case-I love loud cars but this thing is significantly louder than my pretty much open header C63 AMG so that just ain’t right😂
I’m thinking of doing this with mine, tho mine having 250k miles, will need major rebuilding to handle boost

Thanks man! I don’t drive the car in the rain at all(mostly because it’s scary with r-comps) so it wasn’t a concern for me! If I recall correctly you can get an extended intake that sits up at the top/front of the engine bay, but I want the cooler air flowing into the intake to keep IAT’s down and hear all the spool haha😅
Bout to get an 08-14 model with the sharp ass lines through it. Going to Texas to look at it in a few weeks. I don’t think it’s a type s and I thing it has a 3.5 with FWD 6 speed auto…

Just stage 1 for now, it’s pretty easy to upgrade the kit as the internals gets built for higher power, but it should be plenty in the meantime!

Yessirrr!🤝 I did lose it however I don’t mind because I typically never use it anyways, but you can retain it via an electric AC compressor-details can be found on the Gerzy Bear website or you can DM them on IG and Andy can set you up, he’s super knowledgeable!
What parts had to be removed for the supercharger to fit? I have a 8th gen Accord Sedan with the V6 and I was wondering if there was a way to boost it without gutting the engine bay.

Thanks dude!🙏 The AC compressor along with some of the lines(lines removed just to clean it up, it could still be added back), the AC fan since it is no longer being used, and the slightest trimming on the inside of the bumper-aside from that, the only parts that came off were replaced by aftermarket parts, such as the OEM intake, injectors, plugs, fuel pump, etc., the engine bay almost looks stock aside from the big ol’ TurboSmart BOV sitting there lol! Even all of the OEM plastics still fit perfectly.
I’d reach out to Andy @ Gerzy Bear Performance on IG and he will be able to advise in a more in depth level, he is suuuuper helpful with getting you set up and helping with any questions you have

No problem man! There is an electric AC unit that can be installed(details on the Gerzy Bear website) and you can retain AC with the kit, just a little extra work haha

I went with the Stage 1 kit just to keep it safe, and we unfortunately don’t have E85 around here-it seems that it’s pretty easy to upgrade injectors/fuel lines down the line if you ended up building the motor and want more power, which is likely the route I’ll take!

What was the approximate cost of everything? My Friend has a 6 speed TL Type s that he’s going to sell me for a steal price and I want to boost it. I’m not too far from the shop you took your too at all too, only about an 8 hour drive. Would help a lot
I have a full build breakdown video on my channel with the cost of everything! I would highly recommend Fast Auto Concepts for the install, I haven’t had a single issue and they actually did a few custom brackets/lines to ensure everything was done right, super knowledgeable guys

In my opinion, supercharging with the Gerzy Bear Performance Kit is the way to go because it doesn’t take any drivability away from the car-it fits super nicely and is almost like an OEM upgrade, and it has been done and revised so many times that it is really well sorted out. Turbo charging is going to require a lot more custom fab work, but it’s definitely an awesome option! My buddy “The LifeStyle” on YT is doing a turbo build on his super clean Type-S💪

Is it possible the stiffer motor mounts are causing false knock reads?
Absolutely-we’ve been wondering if it’s possibly a harmonics issue! Between the stiffer mounts and how loud the exhaust is, there is a TON of crazy frequencies & vibrations that I’m sure could freak out a knock sensor, especially at that throttle tip in area

Derek at IMW(Innovative MotorWorks) tuned my car remotely via his E-Tuning service, which was $500USD and I would absolutely recommend it-amazing tuner💪

I might have missed it, but what stage are you running with? This is something I'd like to do in maybe a year or 2 with mine. The fact I can put this on a automatic has my scrotum tight! I love the sound of your whip, but I'd probably put a resonator on it. I deleted mine and although louder.....I get this nasty drone in the cabin.

Hey man, my Crosstour's motor's done and I'm putting in miles to break in the engine while it's NA.
I've been watching your videos to try and get an idea of the fitment and was wondering what air filter did you use for the supercharger?
Do you have a part number I can look up, or is that part of your kit from Gerzy?
Was there no space to route the intake and filter away from the engine? I know the pre-cat is right there... I have a RV6 high flow pre-cat so it's not as bulky as the OEM but I think my Crosstour's even tighter than the TL.

Hey man! It’s a K&N 3” inlet filter that comes with the kit! You can definitely route an intake pipe up to the top but I like it right off of the Rotrex for max power haha, definitely cooler down there opposed to up top
I had the RV6 high flow pre cats and had to switch to the PCDs because the kit won’t fit with the high flow cats, even that is too bulky unfortunately!😅

What about your air conditioner? Is it possible to have the AC while boosted?
Absolutely! I chose not to since I never use AC anyways, but per the Gerzy Bear website: “While it is lost by default, you are able to reinstall Air Conditioning (AC) using an aftermarket Treeligo electric AC compressor. No changes are needed to the factory HVAC system other than having a specialized AC shop extend existing refrigerant lines to the new compressor location and wiring up 12v power & the oem on/off trigger to it. Even if you choose not to implement AC, the vehicle will still retain cabin heat and all other functionality. While we do not provide the compressor and refrigerant hoses, we can advise you where to purchase them.”

What fuel injectors are you using? I've heard other people that tried to get tuned by Derek have knock and he was never able to fix it and they went to different tuners and there was no knock
550cc Bosch injectors-I have a new OEM knock sensor going in tomorrow so we’re hoping that solves the issue🙃🤞

Not yet, really hoping it’s just the sensor. The car drives completely fine so it doesn’t make a ton of sense to see that much detonation imo-I’ll post an update once the new sensor is in!

I'm doing this for a 2014 Honda Crosstour (J35Y1 built motor), do you have any plans on getting the AC working after this mod? If so please share your plans.
I did ask the FB group about the compressor, and research hasn't been the best on this, the price is also high for the ones that I did find. My mechanic was thinking about getting an electric compressor for some other cars and using it with the existing AC system and just re-running the lines.
Nice man! I am not planning to reinstall AC-for whatever reason I’ve just never used AC in cars because I don’t like the design/additional stress on the engines(weird I know) so it didn’t make a difference to me at all haha
But that’s an interesting idea, I suppose you’d just need to run a few new lines/power to the new compressor and it should work!

You can get to around 425whp with the stage 1 kit!

You don’t lose power steering, and you can retain A/C! Gerzy Bear sells optional A/C hard lines for an electric compressor and quite a few guys run that, I just chose not to because I never use A/C lol!

Not sure yet as I still haven’t had time to get the car dyno’d, but should be around the 400whp mark at the moment!
Only reason I don’t mod my regular 3G TL is because the gearing is trash on autos… only the first 3 gears are usable then the car falls flat on its face at 4th gear because it’s so tall. 5th gear? Forget it.

380,000kms on the chassis😂 The motor/trans are significantly lower mileage however haha
Why would you boost an auto knowing the transmission wont hold up lol should have got a 6mt..
Because I can🙂 The trans is holding up completely fine and I’m swapping for a 6mt trans whenever I get finished other projects, this is just a car I bought to be a daily driver, I don’t care
