Great video and demonstration! 7 PRC is one of the best calibers out there currently! 7 mm bullets have better ballistics than the .308. I went the 7 PRC route over 300 WM...just a more efficient round and a beltless cartridge for reloading. Less recoil as well.
Was the hole in the aluminum seen at 5:12 already there? If so, then the 7mm proved itself better at barrier penetration in a real world test, not just in lab numbers. From the clay damage at 25 yards, the 30-06 looked like it dumped its energy in the clay, leading to more damage to the clay rather than the aluminum. In the 500 yard test, the 7mm looked to have done much more damage with a single shot. It would be interesting to repeat the test at 25 yards with a layer of aluminum in front of the clay (of a thickness you know will be penetrated) to see how much energy is left in the bullet after penetration.
Just to hit 500 yrds back to back,,, is amazing to me,, the clay is a good representation of tissue n blood,, it a really shows physical proof instead of jello
7 prc smokes the 30-06. Dropped my 1000k bull in one shot. Flatter, faster, way more energy at distance. 7prc is a great round. 30-06 is fine for sub 300 yrd shots. If ya want to go long the 7 prc is the ticket.

THAT 30.06 IS NO SLOUCH MY FAVORITE CALIBER
I just added a better scope on mine and really plan to dial that thing in. The 30-06 seems awesomely consistent.
Definitely good cartridges for hunting 👍👍
Damage down range is the most interesting fact of them all.
Very good and interesting video

The hole in the aluminum was already there. However, I do plan to redo this test so I’ll probably use a barrier with clay next time.

What scope do you use on both rifles?
The 30-06 uses a Blackhound Genesis 6-24x50 MOA while the 7mm uses an Arken EP-5 5-25x56 in MIL. Both are FFP
