'Rauta' is iron in Finnish and 'iske' means hit/strike. This song was full of references to Finnish folklore and used old Finnish language. It talked about, Ilmarinen, who was a blacksmith and an inventor in the Finnish epic Kalevala.
The first verse "Iske rauta, synny rauta. Synny kuumassa tulessa.
    Iske rauta, nouse maasta.
Synny povissa luonnotarten." translates to "Strike iron, be born iron. Be born in the heat of fire. Strike iron, rise from the ground. Be born on the breasts of the maidens of nature." It's poetic and uses the metaphors that come from Kalevala.
There's also a verse that says "Iske rauta, synny rauta. Muutu kuumassa tulessa. Vanno rauta, tapporauta. Älä koskaan omia iske" which means "Strike iron, be born iron. Change in the hot fire. Swear (an oath) iron, killing iron. Don't ever strike your/our own."
There can be many interpretations of course, but I feel like this song is about the strenght to rise up after hard times. Although hardships change you, stay true to yourself and loyal to your people. It also refers to iron as bright and beautiful in one verse. There's beauty in all the forms of us, before and after we change, as life forges us with good and bad things we go through.

There are a lot of bears in Finland, so my best guess for a bell would be protection from bears and at the same time, it works as a good instrument for folk music. This song is really good!

I already hit the like button while watching your reaction to this catchy song (which I already know very well, being a Finnish (folk) metal fan).
There should be a (like)² button for times like this.. that monologue at the end is worth so much more than any song reaction. Your channel deserves more views!

Thanks for reviewing this! This song and video is one of their best all around, in my opinion! I really like Jonne Järvelä's voice in this one.

This was different for sure. I don't think it was for me personally, but there were some great elements like the drums and guitar. Truly unique.

Hey! So there's been a supergroup 20+ yrs ago that released one of the greatest album of our time. They decided to reunite and go on tour. I recommend you listen to at least one song from the awesome Nexus Polaris album. So, Bizzare Cosmic Industries from Covenant / The Kovenant (they changed name with album nr2). 🤘

Catchy, fun. Don't have the slightest idea what it was about, of course.

It's about forging iron from the ground. "Rauta" translates to "iron" and "iske" translates to "hit, strike or forge." The Finnish god Ilmarinen is also mentioned. He is a blacksmith and an inventor in the Kalevala, an epic collection of Finnish poems, folklore and mythology.

Hello, Came over your reactions diving back into the rabbithole looking into what others think of the music i like, and if they interpet it the same way, or differently.
You have earned my sub with your content.
On a side note. I am on a mission. There is a great band out there from brazil, that dont have any reactions to it, I wonder if you could take some time out of your lovely day to look at it?
