2019+ Hyundai Veloster N Resonator Delete Sound Clips

- My wife wanted to have her resonator deleted, so she could get her exhaust sound closer to my Elantra N's exhaust. In this video, I show what the Veloster N's exhaust sounded liked prior to the resonator being deleted and what it sounded like afterwards. Also, I show what the exhaust looks like with the resonator removed. This modification was performed at a local performance shop. It took the shop less than an hour to remove the factory resonator and weld in a replacement pipe. The total cost was right at $100 ($25 parts, $75 labor).
It's hard to capture the sound through a mic vs what it will sound in person. I will say the sound in person both before and after the resonator was deleted is deeper than how it comes through in the video.
When driving the car, the exhaust is slightly louder inside the car, but noticeably louder outside the car. We don't detect any drone while driving on the highway versus when the car had the resonator.
This was an inexpensive modification and worth the money for the sound achieved. I can easily recommend it for anyone wanting a bit louder exhaust sound with more pops and bangs, but doesn't want to replace the entire exhaust.

I had two resonators deleted fron my Kona n. The muffler shop owner thought the one closest to the engine was a cat, and "bet his paycheck" that he was right. After the back one was cut off and he could look inside the front one, he realized I was correct. He was going to charge $60, but asked for $50 at time of payment. Best modification I ever made for the sound in this car.

What’s gas mile? Lol No seriously, we haven’t checked the gas mileage. I will provide an update if we notice any major change.

Yes, it’s a DCT automatic vehicle.
Does it go any better with resonator delete?
If you’re asking if it’s any faster, then no, it’s not faster, just has a deeper sound with more cracks and pops at lower RPMs.
@@nprformthinking about buying this car very soon and I’d also like to do this but as someone who owns a very loud motorcycle I’m afraid of getting more tickets. Is it also loud in normal mode?
@@willfischer5263 My wife never drives it in normal mode. Lol. With that said, removing the resonator does increase the sound, but not dramatically. It enhances the pops and bangs over a louder exhaust sound. My wife feels it sounds closer to my Elantra N’s exhaust now.
