She’s like a toddler wanting to watch the same movie over and over. I know we all have movies that we enjoy watching on repeat. Bless you for adopting a senior pet. Most people want the younger animals and don’t bother with the seniors. They need a forever home too to live out the rest of their lives. 💕
I adopted a senior cat. She didn't want me and bonded with my mom instead. My mother doesn't want pets but cried like hell when she passed away two years ago.
It depends really, my first cat i got was a baby and I had that cat for 19 years, best cat in the world. However I have also adopted two dogs which I had to find a new home for eventually, cuz they could not be alone, they where barking 24/7 when there was nobody in the house, and my neighbors where complaining
Whaddya mean, even for a senior cat she's adorable??? Being a senior, babes, does not keep a kitty, a doggie, or even a person from being ADORABLE! You'll know someday....
What a cutie Ella is. Thanks for rescuing a senior. Kittens are amazing but there are seniors & special needs cats who’ll love you just as much. I grew up a dog person too. My family had dogs but liked cats. It just never crossed my mind to adopt one. Then I fell in love with my roommate’s cat after getting out of the Army. Then I adopted 2 kittehs of my own. Now I’m a full blown Cat Daddy fanatic & cannot imagine life without them. They are freaking amazing. I hope Ella lasts a long time for you guys.
one time i was watching a not really popular yet very good christmas movie and my dad walks in and was like "why are you watching this?" and im over here staring at him and go "Because why not?" he pauses and replies saying "ya but its june..."
I have adopted a lot of senior cats in my lifetime and what I found is that they realize what you are doing for them and In return, they pour out their love on you. Which just made me realize that it 's time to go wrap up in the sleeping bag with my 17 1/2 yr. old. Snickers was scheduled to be put to sleep because she was totally emaciated, could barely stand and hence no one wanted her. I showed up at the pound the day before it was to be killed and specifically asked for a senior cat that no one wanted. She looked horrible and I only expected her to live another month or two. But in that time, I was going to make sure she wanted for nothing, especially love. That was over 3 years ago. Today she looks like a 7 yr. old and runs around all over the place. Every time she see's me, she starts purring.
That's amazing, thank you for saving her (and many others') life. Taking in a pet who isn't expected to live long, just trying to make the rest of it as good as possible, requires a lot of strength and a huge heart.
What a lover 😍 ❤️ ! I love senior cats especially since I am a senior too. They are the best companions. God bless you for making her senior years so happy 😊.

I had a bad experience with my grandmother’s senior cat when I was younger, but I now know not all of them are angry, aggressive cats. Some are very very sweet and yell at you and give you the stink eye when you don’t put on The Grinch fast enough.
Other animals have personality too. Human is not the only one that have personality. Each cat my mom have owned have had their own unique personality. I really miss the cats. Can not visit my mom during the lock down. Can't even give my mom a hug. :(
Ella is gorgeous. It was so cute when you had to "settle" her to watch TV. Our 2 old cats will sleep all day but I must get them ready for "bed" by giving them kisses and making them a fort out of pillows and a sheet. But we look after each other. Hubby was working so hard one year and the constant lack of sleep actually led to him have a seizure. The doctor said that he needed at least 6 hrs sleep a night. Somehow, Midnight knew. Every night at 9.30, I don't know how he knows the time, he jumps on my husband's lap or desk and won't leave him alone until he goes to bed. He then snuggles into hubby and purrs, which puts hubby to sleep. After half an hour Midnight comes back out to play with his brother. 💗
A cat will take care of you. A cat I used to have woke me up when someone was breaking into the laundry room underneath the adjacent apartment. Same cat helped me quit smoking. I've cut back on the booze in order to tame a fera.
@@belixi2671 Thank you. I think it's pretty gorgeous too. My husband always grumbles about it but he's secretly so touched by it. I can hear them in the bedroom chatting away, he's a chatty cat, and then silence. Whenever I come in to check Midnight is always wide awake but won't leave hubby until he's fast asleep.
I had a cat who would watch every single evening, "Ice Age - The meltdown" on my computer. He would come and demand it to be played every evening. For 20 straight minutes and then leave. Very similar behaviour. He was very amused of Scrat and the acorns.
I follow a chimp sanctuary. Almost 2 years ago, they took in 3 from a place that had to close. One is obsessed with Ice Age. One day he made them put it on 3x in a row, and when the tv got unplugged during cleaning, he made a fuss until they put his "stories" back on! 😅😅😅
I’m one of those rare people who ONLY adopts a senior pet, and it has been SO rewarding to give an animal a loving, final, and forever home, if only for the last few years of their lives. Everyone should open their heart to adopting a displaced, senior animal at least once. (Although, they must really like it here cuz they sometimes come back for an occasional “visit” - nothing too ‘spooky’, but you always know who it is!)
I'd love to adopt a senior cat. I remember seeing some senior cats at Petco or Petsmart. I wanted to adopt them, but my father wouldn't let me have any animals during that time.
My sisters dog Chewie is the exact same way! When she leaves the house, she puts the dogs in their kennels, then she'll put on Animal Planet for them! Haha lol
What a story! ❤ Couldn't imagine, that a cat would love to watch tv that much! Thank you, beautiful lady for adopting beautiful cat. 😘 Thank you, Dodo, for interesting story. ❤
This reminds me of my cat who passed away a few years ago. He absolutely loved to sit and watch cartoons on a Saturday. He would come in and watch it and as soon as the credits roll he would get up and head out. It was the funniest thing 😂 He was like a little kid.
I have a similar thing with my older cat. I started putting whipped cream on my protein shake & gave Skittle a taste. The next day, she showed up at shake time & we now have "fluff-time" every day at 5p! If I'm not home at 5p, I get a scolding when I do get home & she wants "fluff" immediately! I was 5 minutes late yesterday & my roommate said she'd been fussing & yelling at everyone. And I was scolded & had to apologize. Her Skittleness rules the house with an iron paw & an insatiable taste for whipped cream! You'd best be on time according to her schedule!
Emily, I want to say thank you to you and your husband adopting Ella. My first cat Skeeter loved watching The Weather Channel. She’d sit on the couch and watch it forever. The one day my nephew thought she’d like cartoons; thus, he put on The Cartoon Network. I got the same look you got when you paused the movie. She’s so cute, and resembles our current cat.
She is absolutely beautiful, I know what it's like to own a cat like her and they are one in a million unfortunately. Not that any of my other cats were bad or anything but my little pippa was different from any cat I ever owned. If you pretended you were crying she would come sprinting down the stairs to comfort you, she wouldn't move from the kitchen and go to sleep until she got her nightly slice of pineapple and I never got bit or scratched by her the entire time I had her, she was so gentle. I miss her. Rip little pippa.
How sweet I love love cats dogs are good that cats are wonderful, enjoy her my cat loves squirrel and Bird movies oMG how funny and neat 👍🤗 my last cat was 20 years old it took me 4 years to get this new one I'm glad I did 💟 I didn't read about Pippa, so sorry to hear they do so many things that we will remember forever in our hearts 🙏❤️

We adopted my wife’s late great aunt’s cat when she passed about a year ago; she is 20 years old, and a handful, but she is an amazing little cat and also, surprisingly spry for 20. She is a tiny little Scottish Fold. She doesn’t watch movies but she sits and stares at our fire most of the day, looking like she is contemplating the deep mysteries of the universe. I bet if we put on one of those 10 hour long fireplace videos she would watch it. I may try that later today...

This is so super adorable! I have known many cats in my life and rarely do they show interest in the TV, only if they hear bird or animal sounds. I am very impressed how well Ella sits nicely on the sofa to watch the movies. I wonder if it is the vibrant colors of the TV she is attracted to or the positive vibe music too. Cats can live to their late teens and early 20s, if kept on a healthy diet. I don't think any cat is truly "senior" until they are 20 plus. Ella looks like a young cat still.
She's adorable indeed... But attributing "watching TV" to being perfect ? We don't have the same value of what is "normal and sane" and what is not... I never had any TV, and I would be sad to bring another species individual into this. Note that I'm against pet in apartments anyway, I think it's not "loving animals", it's only "selfishness and possessiveness" to force an animal to have this artificial, sad prison life, so TV is just the cherry on the top of the toxic cake. But I'm happy for this nice cat to have found a family, this is not my point.

Senior cats are awesome. I adopted 2 senior sisters right before quarantine started last year and they've saved my sanity. What a cutie Ella is. Thanks for rescuing a senior. Kittens are amazing but there are seniors & special needs cats who’ll love you just as much. I grew up a dog person too. I have adopted a lot of senior cats in my lifetime and what I found is that they realize what you are
doing for them and In return, they pour out their love on you. Which just made me realize that it 's time to go wrap
up in the sleeping bag with my 17 1/2 yr. old. Snickers was scheduled to be put to sleep because she was totally
emaciated, could barely stand and hence no one wanted her. I showed up at the pound the day before it was to
be killed and specifically asked for a senior cat that no one wanted. She looked horrible and I only expected her to
live another month or two. But in that time, I was going to make sure she wanted for nothing, especially love. That was
over 3 years ago. Today she looks like a 7 yr. old and runs around all over the place. Every time she see's me, she
starts purring.
Aww thats so sweet
That's amazing, thank you for saving her (and many others') life.
Taking in a pet who isn't expected to live long, just trying to make the rest of it as good as possible, requires a lot of strength and a huge heart.

They know. Glad your husband is getting his sleep thanks to Midnight!
A cat will take care of you. A cat I used to have woke me up when someone was breaking into the laundry room underneath the adjacent apartment. Same cat helped me quit smoking. I've cut back on the booze in order to tame a fera.

Ella should have her own tv show. I’d watch it
She’s the perfect cat...a cat that watches TV and loves you...actually, she’s the perfect companion of any species.
