I did in fact end up adopting Teddy after all! I'm very happy we were able to work out the logistics so he could stay with me. His behavior is improving a lot as well :)
That's great. If Teddy hadn't always behaved like that before he came to you, my guess is he was just in a lot of confusion and stress at losing his territory and his flatmate all of a sudden. He must have been super scared at first, and then, when he felt he was not in danger, he started fearing he'd lose the place and person again. But if he's getting better maybe he's less scared now.
The cat is treating him like his best cat friend. Anyone with two cats that get along very well, knows that cats have lots of energy, especially indoor cats. And they chase each other around, and turn into one big ball of biting scratching fur. Fur literally flies all over. It LOOKS wild, but they're having a great time. I had two brothers. They were utterly devoted to each other. I got them as tiny kittens...rescue, of course. And when they weren't attacking each other and leaving clumps of fur all over the house, they were licking each other, and curled up asleep together. This lovely young man has been deemed an honorary cat sibling by this fur ball. Which is quite the testament to how nice he is.

I know you wrote this 10 months ago but I almost cried reading it, thank you for expressing it this way. I fostered a beautiful black female cat Luna for several months earlier this year after she would not come out of her cage for 3 months at the shelter where I was volunteering. She came out of her shell big time at my house and I really feel in love with her, but because of chronic health issues I chose not to keep her. I had never adopted her and the shelter knew of health situation but I still felt judged when I made the decision not to keep her, and that really made it much more difficult. Ultimately I know I made the right decision though for both myself and the cat and thankfully she was adopted.
Im 52 and I grow weary of hearing about "these kids today" and negative things about our young people. These fine young people right here I find in my personal experience to be very representative of our younger generations...Im in the restaurant biz and work with tons of them. They have a lot to offer and I have faith in them to create a good future. ❤
Thats cause youre gen x and got the boomer treatment just like gen y and z. We learned to do it a lot less because of that in my opinion, it wasnt nice for us and i wouldnt ever do it to my kids
Teddy is 100% like my cat Genji! He LOVES to play and anytime my attention would solely be focused on something else, he would attack me! He would get so precise that he knew when I was in a match in a game so I wouldn't see it coming. He is a good boy, but he would do it often. We ended getting a kitten earlier this year and there have been zero incidents since. Maybe a few stares but I feel that getting him a cat buddy helped so much! Love to Teddy! And you're a hero, you gave him peace and love!
He's very happy - shows his tummy a lot - and maybe he's just a little insecure because his mommy left him with a new daddy. He plays too rough, but he will get over it!
This guy is a really good person.🧡💛 I know he will ulitmately do what is best for this little guy. What a friend doing what he did. Just an all around stand up human.
Seriously! 🩵🤍 When I go out of town (rarely and for short periods) my friends/family don’t really want to watch my cat… and this guy stepped in, in a huge way, for his friend. That’s just in-credible! 🫂
I'm gonna talk to my grandma about this. She loves cats and I'm living there for a while to take care of my grandpa anyway, so I could totally socialize with this cat.
Update 1: Told my mom. Since we could have a house soon, we have decided it will be our cat. However, I still can't attempt the form until mom talks to grandma.
I'm not even mad he wants to get rid of Teddy. He just wants him to live his best life. Maybe you can find a home that will allow you to visit periodically and you won't lose his friendship forever.
Oh my, Teddy feel’s he’s home and fell for U right away… If U must re-home him yet again I pray He finds a prefect family that can help him forget his bond with U. 🙏🏽👱🏻♀️🐾🐾🌹
Poor thing must be so confused as to where his previous owner went to and why he has a new owner? He probably feels insecure and is poking about with this new guy to test him and see what he is all about. These animals have complex emotions and little mind/brains that can not comprehend what is happening to their safety/security/familiarity. So just love him and try to be patient with him. Hopefully something wonderful will happen one way or another with this little baby.
The guy is just being honest. I think he's done exceedingly well by this ball of floof. When he mentioned that another companion cat or dog would be great, I knew he had the bases covered. It's not a great fit. But he tried his best.
The cat sounds like he has abandonment issues, that his original owner no longer had him and this man is gone for long stretches at a time. He needs someone who's home pretty much all the time.
Giving Teddy to Bill was obviously better than being abandoned on the side of the road. I got my daschund Leah after her previous owners gave them to my family because they didn't want her anymore. This was so much better than being abandoned on the side of the road.
Giving Teddy to Bill was also obviously better than surrendering him to an animal shelter... or worse yet, euthanizing him. But I don't think the purpose of the comment was to suggest that Bill never should've taken Teddy. Rather, it was to commend Bill for recognizing that ultimately Teddy does need a guardian who can be around more & for taking appropriate steps to find him one.
This is my relationship with my cat too he thinks I'm a cat. I would give him another cat but he hates other cats, he's very possessive of me. I have bought him toys he likes that keep him occupied which has helped a lot. I think he super smart so he needs constant new things and stimulation more than other cats I've had.
I'm glad he figured out the cat was bored. Hope he's also finding time to really interact, play and challenge him before bedtime also as that will nip some bad behaviors in the bud before the bloom.
Don't overthink this! Look how happy, secure, thriving, entertained and loved he is living with you! He clearly bonded with you and chose YOU as his person. I also travelled a lot and was away a lot for work, but my cat was worth all the extra efforts of finding cat sitters and finding temporary solutions when needed.
This grabbed my heart~ you are such a sweet guy ~ so loving and in tune with what is going on with Teddy!! The right situation will present itself ~ I know you will do what is right for both of you. Sending you light and love.
There are already millions of homeless cats. Teddy is lucky to have you, even if you don't think it's the "ideal" home for him. He loves you and is comfortable there. Adopt a kitten from a shelter to be his little buddy, live your life, and do your best for him. It'll all work out. Good luck! ❤
What part of this don't you get. I hate when people force their narratives on others. He clearly said he's gone weeks at a time. Even though the cat is attached to him, the cat needs a companion. It needs consistent attention. Getting another car doesn't help this dude one bit. Think about the human needs sometimes. His life shouldn't be dictated by a cat. He helped his friend out, ownership of something you never intended to keep forever shouldn't be a life sentence. I love animals too but I'm tired of the people who say the "he loves you" crap. As if he's obligated to change his life around for the protection of something he never wanted. If he didn't want one, why would he get two? There's someone who will love and appreciate this cat unconditionally. It's just not him. Prioritize your life, not an animal!
@@RealRaw561 Yeah, but he said he loves the cat, so surely it's at least worth seriously considering keeping him. Also, people are only trying to give advice.I personally haven't ever commented "keep him"...but when l see people say they "love" an animal in front of it then you should try to not uproot the little guy again. The guy is obviously wanting to hear peoples advice as well or the video wouldn't be on youtube, it'd be on a cat adoptiOn site, so STHU.
@@Vaudevillain121 I've been in that situation of having to re-home a pet so this hits home. I loved my animals forever but it came to a point where it was affecting my finances because everything revolved around them. All you hear is that "they love you" but no one cares whether I could pay the bills or was homeless because I had to turn down jobs that were not local. So there comes a time where you make the BEST decision for the animal and YOURSELF. That was the best decision I made. I sacrificed 11 years and struggled. So when people look only at the animals best interest and avoid giving a damn about the person's best interest, that is a problem with me.
Gotta love the irony of a grown dude flinching at his little kitty whilst wearing a “Superman” t-shirt, lol. 😂 Part of me thinks keep him b/c of how attached the kitty has become, but obviously this guy is just trying to do what’s best. 🤷♂️ Either way mate, good luck whichever way you go & thanks for sharing. 👍
This is the beauty of fostering. The foster REALLY gets to know what the animal needs so a successful match can be found. For instance, this cat would be a terrible match for my 80 year old mom (who adores cats and has always had them) but straight from the shelter this cat would have had to go and that would be painful but necessary for all parties. Being a foster is one of the most selfless ways to help animals (and people!)
Wow I just saw, you seemingly have this sweet fluffy boy already for 2years... ...- Thank you for having taken him in at first, innitially 🙏 For your close friend, I hope for her health..♥️
Teddy! His mom is sick, his foster dad may surrender him… and so I hope that he gets the best forever home ever ❤ Love you Teddy! Thanks Foster Dad for all that you’ve done!
I am so happy that you ended up keeping Teddy. This video was so great. He is adorable. Thank you for adopting this sweet boy! I love that you were playing God of War in the video ( I think it was Atreus I saw in the quick clip). That is one of my favorite game series! Ragnorak is epic!
Advice to anyone who feels getting a "buddy" would help a social cat ...Try fostering first! If your cat doesn't like other pets, fostering can help you find out before you commit to adoption. You care for the cat for a period of time, and if you fall in love there's still the possibility of adoption, and if you find you enjoy fostering, you can keep doing it and really help local un-homed pets, and local animal shelters. Pets get stressed out during long shelter stays even in the best shelters, and a little time in your apartment can go a long way to helping them feel better, and get/keep them friendly and social so they can get adopted. And some homed pets enjoy the foster process too, look up the video of the dog who takes care of foster kittens, it's pure joy. Ask your local shelters if they need fosters! (and if the comments are right and he said he has to be away for weeks at a time, cats might not be the best pet for that lifestyle, but to anyone else thinking about it, please consider the above)
You sound like a good friend, thank you for taking in Teddy. A lot of people don't go above and beyond for others and I'm sure your friend appreciated how much help and love you offered when she and Teddy needed it ❤
Cats are very social, and they need someone to be with all the time. And prolly part of the reason he's clingy is he still misses his mom. It will break your heart to part ways but that's real love. Putting his needs ahead of your own.
The cat, or the dude? 😀😉 The dude's smart to realize the commitment of pet ownership, the former owner was smart to find an exceptional and kind person to care for her cat when she couldn't anymore. Since the OP adopted Archie, I hope it all works out well. His concerns were valid and considerate. Archie was probably acting out from losing his home, person, stability.
I like that he's taking Teddy's needs more into consideration than he is his love for the cat. Love means a lot, but it can also lead to a bad life for the cat/pet. It's a hard choice to make.
@@leflopjames5628 What is wrong with you, the video makes it pretty clear that his friend was in a situation where she could no longer care for the cat. The video pretty heavily implies that it is likely a medical condition that is worsening, meaning she is unable to take the cat back to care for it. What part of this said to you that she just got bored and decided to give the cat away, other than your clearly inherent misogyny and willingness to assume the worst of people, even in the face of evidence/implication to the contrary?
@leflopjames5628 I kinda forgot about the friend because it seems like his cat now lol. Maybe she is going to be incapacitated for a long period of time, or she is someplace that doesn't allow pets. I agree, she should take some responsibility for her cat, it shouldn't just be this guy's sole responsibility.
I was helping a stray cat out once till I found him a home. He was use to being outdoors running around. When I had brought him in, he started attacking certain people and leaving blood on their legs, so I let him out and he was fine after that, he came home everyday for dinner and breakfast and after a nap, was off, but very sweet to people after that. So I made sure the new owner knew that.
I used to be only a dog lover, but because of "The Dodo," I have come (grown) to be a cat lover also. And if my living situation allowed for it, I'd definitely give this adorable fluffy "stalker" a permanent home. This "stalker's" foster dad deserves respect, because very few persons think of the long-term effects of how an an animal (once someone's pet) will react because of a change in its environment or surroundings. Best wishes for this foster dad & his fluffy adorable, extremely lovable (to me) "stalker." 😁😎👍
Adorable! I had a bookshop in Ohio wherein shelter cats were fostered and then adopted by customers. More than 50 were adopted from my shop over the years. I then wrote a series of novels about the experience (Shelve Under C: A Tale of Used Books and Cats is the first) to encourage other shops to look into fostering dogs, cats, rabbits, etc. The business that took over my location continued to foster, thankfully.
That cat sure is in love with you! Cats are very choosy on who they trust and bond with. All his behavior is a sure sign he trusts you and really likes you.
4:05 the fact that he has doubts about adopting the cat doesn’t make me an hypocrite animal lover, it mades him a responsible one. People who adopt an animal without thinking about the consequences are the first to mistreat or worse abandon them.
It's so nice to see someone who cares about what's best for the pet... Even people who mean well seem to seldom consider the animal's needs. Thanks for the upload!
This was one of the nicest things I've seen on YT, too bad we live in Sweden otherwise Teddy would have had a home here with some equally quirky and nice furry monsters. There is a lot of hunting in Teddy, you have made the right decision even if it is sad.
What a sweet, quirky 'love story.' He's an adorable floof. Once a cat takes a shine to you there's no letting up. Wishing for him to be with you for keeps. You have a good heart.
@BillSchaumberg, Thank you for adopting Teddy! He clearly loves you and your home, and you clearly want to make it work with him. When you have to travel, maybe you can find a friend who does have another cat or a dog who will enjoy cat sitting him in their home while you're out of town - he might love that and the cat sitter might love it too. Even a potential cat sitter doesn't have another cat or a dog, there are people who want to have a cat but don't have the energy for one full time, and they might love to have him even for as long as a month or longer.
you‘re making the right choice finding him a home with more people and or animals. Leaving a cat for that long period of time is not best for him. It demonstrates you do love him. I hope you find him a wonderful forever home that checks all the Teddy boxes.
I have a kinda similar cat. Little guy always wanted to have my attention, was becoming actually aggressive by boredom (not playing), I adopted two kittens and they fell madly in love. It took time, and still we have our habits of training him for tricks to busy his mind, I also used to walk out with him every day to sooth him, and little by little he stopped attacing me violently every day. Now it's a rare occurrence, only when we really disagree on something. But he still loves the attention and demands it a lot. So I will never know if he is happy I guess, but he does love his little sisters that he cuddle every day, and sometimes play with.
I love Teddy! He is so different! And you are such an amazing , selfless person! Taking care of your friend’s cat and treating him with love and respect, even in the most challenging situations! I really hope you keep Teddy, because I feel that he completes you! God bless you for being such an awesome person!🙏❤️
Thank you for sharing this video. I didn’t even know that I needed the good feeling I received seeing your beautiful. It’s adorable. Your adorable. Teddy is adorable. Thank you again 😹….and then I got to the end. I hope you both find the best situation for everyone. Good luck.
When my cat goes into attack mode, he gets a time out in our enclosed front porch. He can come back in when he wants, but even a minute or two out there seems to re-set his brain, and he's back to normal again. Cat toys like "kickers" are also really helpful as well. Good luck!
This guy was just as hilarious as his cat - love 'em both! I would be amazed if he doesn't find a family or retired couple to adopt this little guy - he just needs full-time attention - no biggie
My son had a cat like that; when the cat was bad he would throw it out of the room (gently). The cat caught on pretty quickly and they had an understanding.

You're absolutely right! That's my ultimate belief as well, & couldn't have expressed that better myself!😻
He ended up keeping him.
But also i dont remember that even happening in this video so a bit confused as to you commenting that here lol
I NEED HEALING
The dragon becomes me!
He's very happy - shows his tummy a lot - and maybe he's just a little insecure because his mommy left him with a new daddy. He plays too rough, but he will get over it!
He clearly loves you! He's happy and SO handsome. That sweet little face is precious!❤❤❤❤
Love it when a cat decides you're worthy of their affection😆 Especially if they've been scared, like when he hid under the bed😓 🐺
This guy is a really good person.🧡💛 I know he will ulitmately do what is best for this little guy. What a friend doing what he did. Just an all around stand up human.
Seriously! 🩵🤍
When I go out of town (rarely and for short periods) my friends/family don’t really want to watch my cat… and this guy stepped in, in a huge way, for his friend. That’s just in-credible! 🫂
Yes he has something extra special in a person,I get good vibes from him
I'm gonna talk to my grandma about this. She loves cats and I'm living there for a while to take care of my grandpa anyway, so I could totally socialize with this cat.
Can you keep us updated pls? THANKS
What if your grandma dies?
Update 1: Told my mom. Since we could have a house soon, we have decided it will be our cat. However, I still can't attempt the form until mom talks to grandma.
That kitty needs a stable living situation. Sounds as though things are not entirely solid on your end.
@@eponymousIme things are surprisingly stable over here, even with everything.
What a good human to take on a cat and then keep him when plans change until he finds a new forever home. ❤
Omg! My brothers cat is just like this when I come over. It’s just how she loves 😭😂
Oh no, I just got to the date part. You need help!! Maybe another kitty lol
@@meredithrollins6429 The energy does wane in a cat as they get a little older which can help if they are over physical
That's ur cat. That's just how life is. He's family nothing will ever change that
Poor thing must be so confused as to where his previous owner went to and why he has a new owner? He probably feels insecure and is poking about with this new guy to test him and see what he is all about. These animals have complex emotions and little mind/brains that can not comprehend what is happening to their safety/security/familiarity. So just love him and try to be patient with him. Hopefully something wonderful will happen one way or another with this little baby.
The guy is just being honest. I think he's done exceedingly well by this ball of floof. When he mentioned that another companion cat or dog would be great, I knew he had the bases covered. It's not a great fit. But he tried his best.
Holy hell I am the perfect person for this cat. I check every box. Living in rural desert without a car 75% of the time with dog and cats
Good luck to Teddy's mom and to him; hope he gets the perfect forever- and -ever home soon.
The thumbnail makes it look like the guy's terrified of the cat. It's hilarious.
Bless your heart sweetie. i think Teddy has his hooks in you. he is such an adorable cat and so pretty too!
I'm glad he figured out the cat was bored. Hope he's also finding time to really interact, play and challenge him before bedtime also as that will nip some bad behaviors in the bud before the bloom.
Ohh let's find this FLOOF a home! What a stellar dude for doing what's right for Teddy :)
Keep him! 🐾🐾🐾
❤Please, do not give up on Teddy, he adores you! You are his "Teddy Bear"! Thank you for being patient, kind and sweet with this Fur-Angel! ❤
He's not "giving up on" Teddy. He's thinking compassionately and responsibly about what would make Teddy happy.
This kitty reminds me of my first cat. He was a menace. And I miss him terribly
My kitty is a menace too. But, I love her to bits, and she does love me. She’s just…..the boss. 😂
You can tell that the cat absolutely adores him by the way he shows his belly and how the cat constantly vies for his attention.
@@RealRaw561wow, is everything ok at home?
@@LourdesGzz I'm just tired of all of you sicko's who think someone should pause their life for a freaking animal... Get a LIFE!!!
0:57-1:03🤣😂 I loved this story! Hopefully you find Teddy his forever home.
“It’s complicated” is one of the best definitions of a great cat-human relationship! Keep him. He’s really bonded with you.
Wow I just saw, you seemingly have this sweet fluffy boy already for 2years... ...-
Thank you for having taken him in at first, innitially 🙏
For your close friend, I hope for her health..♥️
Teddy! His mom is sick, his foster dad may surrender him… and so I hope that he gets the best forever home ever ❤ Love you Teddy! Thanks Foster Dad for all that you’ve done!
The foster Dad ended up adopting the cat.
I am so happy that you ended up keeping Teddy. This video was so great. He is adorable. Thank you for adopting this sweet boy! I love that you were playing God of War in the video ( I think it was Atreus I saw in the quick clip). That is one of my favorite game series! Ragnorak is epic!
Prayers to the old owner! Hope she gets better again!
She doesn't want the cat anymore.
So? It’s still polite to send a wish of good health to a sick person, regardless of if she can take the cat back or not.
What a great video! Good luck finding a home for him.
Adopting Teddy is the best decision you have ever made! 😀❤❤❤
This had me laughing till i cried. I also love how phylisofical and analytical he is.🤣
*Philosophical*
The cat, or the dude? 😀😉
The dude's smart to realize the commitment of pet ownership, the former owner was smart to find an exceptional and kind person to care for her cat when she couldn't anymore.
The cat needs another cat buddy in the home! He needs company.
That's a thought
I'm finding that out too with my Blackjack in that being the only cat child may not be right for him so time to get him another sibling.
Yes and he needs a buddy that's as playful and interactive as he is. Not a chill, laid back type of cat.
Teddy is so adorable!! What a lucky guy to have such a stellar cat! 😊😊
Keep Him, he's already been through enough. He's beautiful, and Hamsum!
That cat sure is in love with you! Cats are very choosy on who they trust and bond with. All his behavior is a sure sign he trusts you and really likes you.
You are blessed. The Cat chose you. Serve him.
I hope someone adopts Teddy and gives him a loving home! 😍🥰🤠
He is so sweet.
The most amazing thing about this video is that this guy is straight!!!!!
I thought so too! And I'm him
@BillSchaumberg, Thank you for adopting Teddy!

EXACTLY!
I would honestly adopt him in a second, no questions asked!
Cats are adorable and when they choose you they are like sticky tape
you‘re making the right choice finding him a home with more people and or animals. Leaving a cat for that long period of time is not best for him. It demonstrates you do love him. I hope you find him a wonderful forever home that checks all the Teddy boxes.
This cat would love to watch "Cat TV" which shows birds feeding (loads of RUclips channels out there).
Made my cat learn to chill a lot more.
He’s the type of friend you want in your life forever❤
Omg.. I know EXACTLY how he feels😆
So I will never know if he is happy I guess, but he does love his little sisters that he cuddle every day, and sometimes play with.
please make sure Teddy goes to a good forever home he seems like such a sweet boy
He sounds like a great guy who's made close friends with a great kittycat! 🙂
Bill and Ted's big adventure...
Keep the cat.
HE LOVES YOU!!!
Good luck.
Norwegian Forest Kitties are the biggest love bugs. I had mine for 10+ years before he passed. He was the best cat ever
When my cat goes into attack mode, he gets a time out in our enclosed front porch. He can come back in when he wants, but even a minute or two out there seems to re-set his brain, and he's back to normal again. Cat toys like "kickers" are also really helpful as well. Good luck!
One of my felines is the same. Same species. Needs a lot of love, screams and talks a lot.
Just an absolute gift of joy and love
This guy was just as hilarious as his cat - love 'em both! I would be amazed if he doesn't find a family or retired couple to adopt this little guy - he just needs full-time attention - no biggie
Seems you both are very happy together
I hope your friend is doing okay.
Wish i had a cat like him
My son had a cat like that; when the cat was bad he would throw it out of the room (gently). The cat caught on pretty quickly and they had an understanding.
If i had seen this 11 months ago i'd be so tempted, but im so glad he's in a good home now! We have a cat and sometimes i think about getting him a pal, me and my sister are home 99% of the time
Ooow I think Teddy just needs a play mate. Another cat that he can focus on, take care of and play with.
He’s a beautiful cat!
So cuuute 😊😅😁😂🐱
having the same "issue" with a cat I was fostering, and decided to adopt her. Always express the discomfort when they claw too much, they understand.
