Changing Drive Gear on Denso Starter

In this video I show you how to change out the Drive Gear on your denso starters for (John Deere A, 60, 620 and 630 tractors).

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering about an easy way to hold that spring back so that I could remove the clip. I don't have a John Deere, I've got a 67 Ford Mustang with a Denso starter used for racing purposes. Just the same, these Denso's can be found on all kinds of engines. A good design intended for durability.

What is your advice on greasing up the planetary gears, pinion, shafts etc.? Any advice on type of grease and amount? People are very divided on this subject. Thanks
