      L J this game was so bad with the dirty hits that even though what you said was correct, the 1 exception was during this game which everybody forgot because it was flagged. It was the hit that almost killed him though. Not the high/low that wasn’t flagged and replayed a million times. On the wide handoff he went to sell the fake and got decleated after the play was over. After the game he said that was a dirty hit. He never said it again about that hit or any other hits but he said it that 1 time. And it was the worst 1 for sure

      @66limelight 5 лет назад +9

      @@ephemispriest8069 Enough with the "refs gave the game to the Saints". Yes there were bad calls but they were on both sides. And YES they ignored a few bad hits on Favre. There was one early in the game that was much worse than that very first play in the video: After a hand off he was drilled to the ground (and even de-cleated as John Madden would say) well after handing off and it was not called. The refs didn't take control early in the game like they're supposed to do, I'll concede that. But even with all of that the Vikings still outplayed the Saints and lost, not because of the bad refs, but because they beat themselves. I also give credit to Porter when he popped the ball out of Barrian's hand....Great defensive play. That interception that Favre threw was typical of him. As great as he was, he was also a coach's and team's nightmare. What made him great also cost his teams many wins.

    As a life long Packer fan and 11 yr Farve fan who broke my heart going to the Vikings however while watching this game and seeing how he played and by the games end he won back my respect for him. Watching the punishment he took and how he handled it especially later finding out about "bountygate" intentionally trying to injury him was both hard and awe inspiring, almost any other player today and not just a QB but any player even in their prime would more than likely not continue on after just 1 of the huge hits and he took several devastating hits that were clearly painful but even at his age he pushed thru and not only came back out but even returned and played at a high level. It was really special to see such determination a what it means to never giving up, this performance though transcended beyond just this game, that playoffs, season, this was like the culmination of his entire career almost as if this was the final 1,200th quarter of a single 12 yr long game. And even though it ended with him throwing the INT it didn't matter and even makes for a better ending to it all somehow, that even when you go so above and beyond any expectations sometimes it can still go wrong either by your own making or by something else out of your control. To me this game was a perfect example that demonstrated oftentimes its the journey and the destination that truly matters.

    Favre threw a bad pass but was it the reason the Viks lost HELL NOO. favre played a great game while refs refused to blow the whistle on a lot of late hits. Ap fumbled I think three times and even with that the Viks were in position to win the game till Childress put 12 men in the field out of a time out which took them out of field goal range. Favre then tried to win the game with one throw and made a bad pass but it wasn't his fault.

The "Bounty" was so severe after discovered that legal steps were being considered. Instead careersrs like Vilma were ended along with a season suspend of a head coach. This is ultimately the most underrated nfl game in history for fowl play. Vilma's career was not ended. IN fact, his suspension was overturned because the independent review panel ruled that Goodell overstepped his power because he provided no actual evidence that the Saints intended to injure Favre on any of those hits.Vilma would go on to play until 2017. Also, Aaron Rodgers has matched Favre's accomplishments and there are many more QB's who have more. Finally, Favre was not abused by the media. Favre got one of the biggest free passes by the media in NFL history as every INT he threw was excused as "He was trying to make a play" or "he is just being a kid" Favre got more free passes from the media than Brady ever has.

      @@chriskay1449 and the suspensions for a whole season by leaders i mean coaches of the game? They also looked into charges for the illegal bounty which encompasses behavior indicative of maiming a player. Again the "scheme" was to deactivate a player. The only reason why this was swept under the rug was because of Hurrican Katrina. Which to make a place suffer more to such choices but gregg williams + is trivial because it is a game in the end. But to say a player getting leniency to a guilty act while his leaders served sentences is baseless. They tainted their win and for anyone that follows football. And the legacies of great players like brees - payton.

      @@noahnoah5239 Wrong on all counts. It wasn't swept under the rug. All the suspensions were overturned because Goodell couldn't prove any of his claims. It was impossible to prove there was any intent to injure by any player while on the field. Goodell just declared it so which was a clear abuse of his authority. The only reason Payton's suspension was not overturned was because he accepted his. He didn't fight his. Everyone else did. There is absolutely no evidence to prove anyone one of the players were trying to intentionally injure anyone. The only baseless thing here is your post.

    Nobody talks about how this game was fixed by the officials, so many no calls on the saints cheating defense. It was a joke.

      Yeah, there were a number of blown calls, uncalled late hits, but the worst was a first down the Saints got in OT on a 4th and 1 that really wasn't a first. Should've been Vikings ball.

    This still pains me, im a seahawks fan and favre was an amazing player to watch when he was in the league. The saints on the other ropped the vikes their super bowl chances because of bounty claims to injure other players. I wanted Favre to win another ring that season honestly

    Saints cheated with bounty on Favre. Had to hurt an old man to win. Plus the Vikings kind of self destructed with fumbles. In overtime the game was practically given to the Saints with awful calls. THIS GAME STILL PAINS ME.
