My dad is a Vikings fan and this happened on his birthday. By this point, he was looking pretty down cause he figured it was a longshot to win the game at this point, then this play happened and we all started screaming.
My dad got mad so he went outside to shovel and when diggs got the td I ran outside and told my dad what just happened but he didn’t believe me so he ran in to watch the replay and he freaked out 😂

You know usually it’s the coaches who always tell the players never celebrate like you have this thing in the bag until the game clock hits 0:00 Yeah that wasn’t one of Payton’s finest moments...
Right at the end of this game with seemingly no hope for the Vikings, my dad said he would give me and each of my 4 siblings $50 if the Vikings won. Then the Minneapolis Miracle happened 😂
Watching Diggs running with the ball held out in front of him made the last few seconds seem like an eternity. As a die hard Vikings fan used to watching them lose in every conceivable manner, I fully expected him to drop the ball short of the goal line, trip over his own feet, or do something else that would cause the Vikings to lose.
As a Minnesota fan, I still get goosebumps every time I watch this play, especially with Paul Allen calling it. This is one of those moments where you remember exactly where you were and who you were with when it happened. I was in total shock and awe that we managed to come back and win it after seeing our lead slip away so quickly. Shame about what happened in the game afterwards, but the whole season was worth it for this moment. Someday we'll get our Super Bowl!

@@stratdaddy Back in 2016, Vikings QB Taylor Heinicke (the same one who nearly beat the Bucs in the WC), was slated to be the 3rd QB. However, this all changed one night when he was coming home from an evening with friends during training camp. Keep in mind that he was kind of drunk. It was dark outside, and Taylor couldn't find his key. Therefore, he was locked out of his house. In Taylor's mind, the most logical solution was to... try and break into his own house by literally kicking his front door down. It backfired tremendously, and Heinicke suffered a major gash on his foot. The Vikings put him on IR shortly after.

As an Eagles fan I was so hype on this play. I'd been a big Vikings fan that year and even though they were facing us in the Championship, I couldn't help but think how amazing it'd be if these weird, upstart, Case Keenum-led Vikings could become the first team to play a Super Bowl in their home stadium

SKOL!!! Can't forget the scene after this where Case leads the stadium in the Skol chant. Also, have to remember and give respect to the Saints punter, Thomas Morestead, who breaks his ribs but still goes out there to line up for the required extra point.
I was bartending in LA during this game. Michael Thomas' family came in and they kept bragging about it. They said they were his cousins. And they were super annoying The left in silence and paid their bill without tipping immediately after this play. Glad they lost

I'm not sure what series this would go under, but can we have an SB list of best announcer calls? "Touch 'em all Joe!" "Agueroooooooo" and "It's a Minneapolis Miracle!" all give me the chills.
This play is special to us Vikings fans in a way seldom appreciated. We who have been beaten and kicked in the playoffs. We who have failed over and over in the Super Bowl. This play is special because it’s the only time we’ve been on the receiving end of a great all-time play. Every Vikings fan knew this routine: great year but we lose. “God damnit I really thought we could go somewhere this year”. That’s what I said after the first missed pass on the last drive. But I still had a tiny bit of hope. Then I remember screaming with joy when Diggs caught it. One of my favorite memories
I actually think Joe Buck had the better call on this play, if only because he never gets excited about anything, and this play just left him speechless
Great vid my guy as a saints fan u made me remember everything else that went into this I had completely forgotten about the fact that Sean Payton decided to run it on that third down. I had also forgotten about the blocked punt and the 4&10 big play by brees. The one thing is ur trying to say the Vikings had a lot of heartbreak. Anyways, this is a great channel. Any nba or nfl rewinder u make I will watch.
Every bone in my body was screaming get out of bounds just because I was 99% sure there was a safety back there, then Stephon turned and ran and it was the best moment of my life
it's a really great call and it also lets us not have to listen to joe buck (despite this being one of his few moments where he actually showed excitement)
I remember watching this game and I am very happy for the viking fans because they deserve a moment like this... People say it was an amazing catch and run but in my opinion it wasn't really a miracle... It was the saints particularly Marcus William made a horrible mistake because all he needed to do is let him catch it and you can tackle him before he gets out of bounds and the game would have been over.. he's completely missed the tackle which let the Viking win this game but I don't want to take any credit from the Vikings this was a really good game... My 49ers we had our share with incredible good games with the New Orleans saints particularly the 2011 divisional playoff game so in the way I know how they feel
I love these deep rewind videos! i remember most of them and its so cool to look back on things with even more depth. You thought you knew every narrative but sometimes you forget. Thank you for making these videos!
The thing that really caught me off guard when I was watching the play was Joe buck. But, I still wish the Vikings didn’t get blown out the following week.
Well, the Buck call is absolutely legendary. Especially as he’s not known for sounding that excited. I imagine they put this call in the vid instead because of the “Minneapolis Miracle” name-drop. Certainly caught me by surprise.
As a Vikings fan, this is the worst moment in recent history. This one singular meaningless win has kept the franchise in mediocrity ever since, as it gave upper management confidence in keeping the worst HC in the NFL in Zimmer.
@@JWex-jy7sk my ranking of Zimmer as the worst coach in the league is based upon the fact that he produces mediocre results with elite talent. I have Nagy as the second worst HC in the league due to the same rationale. I just have a hard time putting Taylor in my bottom 5 coach tier because he’s only been there for 2 years and the cupboard is pretty bare or young in terms of talent. After next year though, Taylor will most likely be in the discussion
I can’t believe that there’s only been three episodes of rewinder about soccer. You’ve barely touched it. The amount of “moments in history” to choose from is just mind blowing. United v Bayern 1999 two goals in extra time to win the champions league final Iniesta 2010 OR Götze 2014 - a goal deep into the half hour of ‘overtime’ to win the World Cup final Celtic’s 18 year old Tony Watt’s second goal against Barcelona to seal one of the biggest upsets in Champions League history Steven Gerrard’s screamer to win the FA Cup against West Ham Nakamura last second free kick to win the SPL for Celtic the year their legend Tommy Burns died Troy Deeney last kick of the game goal after a penalty save on the other end of the field to send Watford to the playoff final I could list 100 more of these. There’s just so much material guys please.
@@mcurgs Lions don’t suffer they know they are not good and won’t win it’s sad not suffering tho Browns are similar unlike bills and Vikings where we suffer from almost getting to the dance and choking

I will always remember exactly where I was in that moment. How I felt both before and after. What a magic play! And there was a lot more to the 09 NFCCG than just Favre throwing an interception. Just look up the ESPN coverage the day after
I would say this is the first season under Zimmer our offense was better than our defense. Danielle Hunter, Michael Pierce and Mike Hughes (who would’ve guessed Mike would get hurt lmao) all missed the season. We lost Griffey, Alexander, Wayne’s, and Rhodes, and several key back ups like Sendajo and Kearse. Wouldn’t be surprised if we signed a guard and had a really defensive draft. Getting another edge, safety, 3 tech, and some line backers

Well, unfortunately, you still blew us out in the nfc championship game
The Minneapolis Miracle is one play in football history that always gives me chills when i watch it
One of the few moments in my life where I will always remember exactly where I was when it happened.
Me too
I remember walking away to go to the bathroom like okay let’s go saints this will be a good ga......... wait what . Just . Happened 🤣🤣🤣
Ditto
On my couch, in my basement...
I was in the stadium.
This almost makes me cry I watched this when I was in 4th grade all of my sports teams have been shitty I’m a Dbacks fan a Nuggets fan and a Sabres fan this was my one moment of glory and it feels amazing
The 2017-2020 Saints are like the 1991-1994 Bills, except the Bills actually made the super bowl.
Unfortunately smh
I don't see the comparison, Bills were clearly the best team in their Conference thru those years, Aints were not.
and lost all 4 times
@@MasterOfViewership That's the point... A great team that should've done more than they did.
Almost never even went to an NFC championship game had Alshon Jeffrey caught that ball in the 2018 divisional.
"Why wont anyone hug Case Keenum?"- Bill Burr
That helmet toss at the end is the equivalent to a walk off bat flip in baseball
Don’t care if we lost the next week still the greatest moment of my life
Freaking love the helmet toss in the end zone.
Been waiting for this for a long time! I'm not even a Vikings fan (Falcons fan) but I'll be damned if I didn't say this play was iconic. Excited for this Rewinder. Secret Base knows what the people want and delivers in spectacular fashion! 🤑
SKOL!!! Can't forget the scene after this where Case leads the stadium in the Skol chant. Also, have to remember and give respect to the Saints punter, Thomas Morestead, who breaks his ribs but still goes out there to line up for the required extra point.
2017 playoffs was where a discover and fell in love with this game. Thank you for that
I was bartending in LA during this game. Michael Thomas' family came in and they kept bragging about it. They said they were his cousins. And they were super annoying
The left in silence and paid their bill without tipping immediately after this play.

Secret Base: "The Minneapolis Miracle deserves a deep rewind"
Me being a saints fan: Hell no it doesn't.
great video all jokes aside.
I mean after what y'all did in 2009 I feel like it's only fair
*DIGGS*
*SIDELINE*
*TOUCHDOWN*
*UNBELIEVABLE*
I actually think Joe Buck had the better call on this play, if only because he never gets excited about anything, and this play just left him speechless
We need one of these for the David Ortiz home run in 2013 ALCS
I can’t believe it’s already been 3 years since this game...time flies
Love these rewinds. The build up and history to that one moment, makes you appreciate it so much more. Brilliant
The saints fans will never forget this game
This video made me realize that as a Saints fan, I no longer feel pain... just acceptance and zen
After the no call I became numb to playoff loses
Please let Diggs have a moment like this today. Our city needs this
As a vikings fan: LETS GO BILLS!!!!!! break the super bowl of 4 curse!
🤞

This is the most amazing play I ever saw live besides AB's game winner in Super Bowl 43. Glad you guys did a video on it.
A WALK OFF HOMER BY SECRET BASE
10/10 well done as always !
Every bone in my body was screaming get out of bounds just because I was 99% sure there was a safety back there, then Stephon turned and ran and it was the best moment of my life
From a Vikings fan, thank you for using Paul Allen's call!
This!
it's a really great call and it also lets us not have to listen to joe buck (despite this being one of his few moments where he actually showed excitement)
@@SecretBaseSBN any excuse to use Paul Allen is a good one, and any excuse not to listen to Joe Buck is also a good one
Ive been waiting for this
I maintain this is the best piece of camera and production work the nfl has ever done the camera angle and cuts could not be better
Thank you thank you thank you for posting this! This was one moment in time I had the privilege of catching. Ah the memories...
You guys really didn’t use “ DIGGS!!! SIDELINE!!! TOUCHDOWN!!!”
We need an “Untitled” of Philip Rivers career
Dadgummit
YESSSSS AS A CHARGERS FAN THAT WOULD BE PAIN BUT THATS A GREAT IDEA

I love these deep rewind videos! i remember most of them and its so cool to look back on things with even more depth. You thought you knew every narrative but sometimes you forget. Thank you for making these videos!
I get chills every time. My eyes tear up. Such a beautiful moment in Minnesota sports history
i wish everyone seeing this gets to experience the feeling in the building after it
The thing that really caught me off guard when I was watching the play was Joe buck.
"Next Wednesday's Sixers-Lakers game deserves a deep rewind."
The dramatic final flourish to the 2006 AFC Championship Game deserves a deep rewind
I’ve been waiting for this video for 3 years
Idea for Rewind:
-'corner taken quickly'
-Kawhi's buzzer beater
ORIGI!!!!!
Vikings fans: I’ve been looking forward to this
38-7
As a Vikings fan, this is the worst moment in recent history. This one singular meaningless win has kept the franchise in mediocrity ever since, as it gave upper management confidence in keeping the worst HC in the NFL in Zimmer.
@iiivmmi Don’t forget then signed Kirk Cousins to where it’s just been downhill ever since missing the playoffs 2 out of the last 3 years...🤦🏼♂️
@@justingregor6329 Man I agree Zimmer should be fired after how the team looked this year
But he ain't no Zac Taylor to be considered the worst?
@@JWex-jy7sk my ranking of Zimmer as the worst coach in the league is based upon the fact that he produces mediocre results with elite talent. I have Nagy as the second worst HC in the league due to the same rationale. I just have a hard time putting Taylor in my bottom 5 coach tier because he’s only been there for 2 years and the cupboard is pretty bare or young in terms of talent. After next year though, Taylor will most likely be in the discussion
Not a Vikings fan but this is one of if not my favorite play in sports. Watching it live was crazy.
Man idk how to explain how it feels like its beyond anything that's ever happened to me before.
100% agree. I could not believe what I was seeing. Top 5 play of all time
I can’t believe that there’s only been three episodes of rewinder about soccer. You’ve barely touched it. The amount of “moments in history” to choose from is just mind blowing.
United v Bayern 1999 two goals in extra time to win the champions league final
Iniesta 2010 OR Götze 2014 - a goal deep into the half hour of ‘overtime’ to win the World Cup final
Celtic’s 18 year old Tony Watt’s second goal against Barcelona to seal one of the biggest upsets in Champions League history
Steven Gerrard’s screamer to win the FA Cup against West Ham
Nakamura last second free kick to win the SPL for Celtic the year their legend Tommy Burns died
Troy Deeney last kick of the game goal after a penalty save on the other end of the field to send Watford to the playoff final
I could list 100 more of these. There’s just so much material guys please.
Help someone! I’m trapped in a Rewind binge and I can’t stop!!!! Ahhhhhh!!! This is such a good series
Saints fans are already having a bad week just for secret base to drop this on them
People never talk in how much us Vikings fans suffer :(
It's true. I think you guys are top 3 with the Browns and my Bills.
Lions still be #1 tho
@@mcurgs can’t argue with that
@@mcurgs Lions don’t suffer they know they are not good and won’t win it’s sad not suffering tho Browns are similar unlike bills and Vikings where we suffer from almost getting to the dance and choking
As a Falcons fan this brought a year to my eye.
Yes I usually get years brought to my eyes

Hell yeah. Been waiting on this vid. This is the day my love for football was solidified. I wasn’t and still am not a big fan of either of these teams, and I still think it’s the greatest sports moment I’ve ever seen. Unreal stuff.
I will always remember exactly where I was in that moment. How I felt both before and after. What a magic play!
And there was a lot more to the 09 NFCCG than just Favre throwing an interception. Just look up the ESPN coverage the day after
As a Falcons fan, this was one of the greatest days of my life.
As a Saints fan, when I watch this now I just think "wow, I can't believe it got worse over the years".
The Vikings own you guys 😭💀
It's funny. You make a point of the defense waiting on a consistent offense. Now, it's the opposite.
Case Keenum is one of the most underrated players in the NFL.
22 TD-7 INT in MIN.
18 TD-15 INT in DEN.
11 TD-5 INT WAS.
51 TD-27 INT for 3 Different teams in 3 years.
One of the greatest moments in Minnesota Vikings history. What an amazing feeling!
Pretty sad history when a divisional round game is one of the greatest moments.
