This is 100% a beginner's bike and I still have my 883 for 5 years, no plans on getting rid of it. Picked it up for $5k, works fine on the highway for me (I don't do long trips about 3 hours max)

How does it ride on long trips? I plan on getting a 883 to commute to work. Work is about 50 miles away. 100 miles round trip back home.

@@IAMDENNIS_24 if you are going to use a motorcycle for work everyday, and it's 100 mile trip. I wouldn't recommend the sportster. I would 100 percent go with a softail or bagger type bike. (I don't use my iron 883 as a commuter bike, I ride occasionally)

Hi mate, I just got one myself. But As you can see you've never looked at the manual of the bike. You can set a preload on the rear shocks and it will make the ride much more enjoyable. It will not bottom out that easy. I as I can see it from the video, yours are pretty much on stock set up on 2-3 dots. I assuming you are not a 100-120lb, So you might need to change it to 4 or 5 Dots. I tuned mine up to 5 dots on each side and it was day and night. The previous owner had it also on less then 3 dots (probably still stock), and he was about a same 180-190lb like myself. But as soon I sat on it just bottomed out. Lot of people don't really recognise this and they just buy new shock, which is fine and I'm sure they are way better then the stock but you can save yourself some cash by just doing some adjustment. And it might work for you.
You were spot on with your review, I bough it for the city and short trips. Perfect for that. I have a Stage 1 V&H on it and a few other mods. Love it and definitely will keep it for a few yeas.

Think the best way to put it for people with no experience looking at this bike is if you have no experience but you have confidence and you are a quick learner then it’s the right bike but if you are a new rider no experience with lack of confidence or a little scared or nervous then it probably is not for you in that case

I am going to keep the Hayabusa, but it is a stressy bike to ride, as you are always too fast. So I´d take the Harley out on our country roads and cruise around. What do you say?
