outstanding video, well done! I plan to buy this product based on your realistic and very professional review! I am not a RC hobbyist, but the pleasant tone of the presenter in this video and the lure of safely learning to fly a drone has convinced me that this product is a great investment in building skills to minimize repair costs and maximize quality of the flying experience when it is time to purchase a drone. Thank you!
I've ordered my Realflight Drone from Amazon and hopefully it'll arrive next week. Based on this and a few other really good reviews I'm hoping I can improve my skills. I've been flying quads for the last year and a half and have to use a soccer field close to home but have no margin for error since it's surrounded by homes. I get nervous if I fly outside the field so don't really get a chance to push my skill level as much as I'd like. I'm planning to practice a LOT using this sim. If you haven't flown before, I'd recommend a cheap toy grade basic starter like the Syma X5C-1 to practice the basics after you've practiced on the sim. You WILL crash now and then and the Syma is pretty rugged and replacement parts (rotors, gears, motors, etc.) are cheap and easy to get on Gearbest, eBay, Amazon, as well as others. After you're comfortable with that, then you can upgrade to something with a bit more power (still not too expensive) like the Tarantula X6 or Kaideng K70. After you get comfortable with that, THEN you can move up to something with REAL power like the Bayangtoys X16 or the XK 251/252 or even (gasp!) a Phantom.
Thanks for the review, it was VERY helpful. It turns out that B&H Photo and Video had it on sale for $80, so I went for it. The combination of your review and the reduced price sold me. If all goes well, I should get my package by Thursday.
+Dale Bergeron I'm still using it, but mostly just the flying part. I tried some of the challenges, but don't really use that section of the code. I like flying in FPV mode and do that most of the time. Because the number of locations and aircraft is limited, I'm planning on doing the upgrade to the full version.
Good review! I don't have too bad a beef with this drone simulator. I bought it two years ago and uninstalled after 1 year; haven't used it since. I'm not sure of recent upgrades made on the software but, my issue was/is that it lacked missions of interest i.e. Engineering, Search and Rescue, or any multiple industry related scenarios. I envision this product having potential to not only be a video arcade flight sim, but rather a "true to life" training tool. Heck, for that matter a tool for prepping and exercising various FAA regulations on Drone flight. Ok, I know this is asking a lot but, here's food for thought: if they had such a product - I WOULD BUY IT!
Sorry, I don't know the answer to that. I would suggest you contact the people at realflight or search their forum: www.realflight.com/support/index.php
Hello friends, I have an RF-X dvd and a DRONE dvd, which unfortunately has scratches and is damaged. Can anyone copy and upload one of the DVDs or give me the download link for these two dvd rf-x and dvd drone? Thank you.
+ComputermanAM13 , depends on what you mean by better. Drone sim has many more drone models to choose from, but realflight has tons of airplanes, gliders, and helicopters (but only two or three drones). Realflight is more versitile. Note that you can upgrade the dronesim to realflight at a later date: www.realflight.com/products/gpmz4528.html
+MiamiJato , extremely surprised your computer doesn't have a DVD player(!). However DVD or DVD-R players are relatively cheap to add to a desktop (or USB if you have a laptop).
+MiamiJato I purchased an external USB optical drive for less than $50US, they sell them at many retail stores where you can purchase computer accessories, you can also purchase from many online retailers as well. The last optical drive I purchased from an Asian seller on eBay and it also reads Blu-ray discs, although I also purchased the Blu-ray movie player software to play movies. I also purchased a license for "Poweriso" a software program that creates an image (.iso file) that Windows can assign a drive letter just like a real optical drive, which saves me the burden of connecting the external optical drive. Good luck.
I think it's appalling that this company would make a flight simulator environment (RF7.5 RealFlight - Jim's Junkyard) that obviously contains the building and plane remains of the events of September 11, 2001. What type of sick mind would make a game out of the horrific event like this? It even has a real plane crossing the sky reminding you what you are really looking at.
I'd get this but it's not compatible with Realflight Interlink USB controller. What were they thinking? It's their own product. Liftoff has no problem with it. So I went with Liftoff. In fact, I just found out, most of their sims aren't compatible with their own controller. Go figure. www.realflight.com/support/kb/article.php?p=RF8&q=16-1054 I think mostly I got fed up with their serial number system, it dosn't work, I could never get Real Flight 6 or Real Flight 7 to work, it would never accept the serial number no matter how many times I typed them. It sucks because I actually bought the rudder pedals and joystick to go with it.

Good review. No bs, these videos are important if you plan to spend $150.
Good review. Well-made and quickly to the point, covering the essentials.
+Kevin Garrett , thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it.
HobbyVie
That's pretty cool for a computer simulator, that comes with its own R/C style controller
Thanks for taking the time to do the review/video. Going to order one this weekend......

Hi good job with the review I think I will buy one, is there a version without the cable wireless?
+RC944jim , not as far as i know. The wireless Realflight sim uses the TTX610, which doesn't have the controls buttons/knobs needed for the drone sim.
I can't believe they still making cd player type stuff. All new computers don't have any CD DVD player anymore, DANG!!!!!
please make video on Coustem drone import and simulation
is that a real controller ? can you fly RC models with it ?bind and Fly?
Eloy Garcia no just simulator
nice. glad I found your channel.
Excellent video, thank you.
I have real flight 6.5, could I buy just the disc for drone simulator and still use the controller that came with 6.5?
Sorry, I don't know the answer to that. I would suggest you contact the people at realflight or search their forum: www.realflight.com/support/index.php
HobbyView ok thank you
Hello friends,
I have an RF-X dvd and a DRONE dvd, which unfortunately has scratches and is damaged. Can anyone copy and upload one of the DVDs or give me the download link for these two dvd rf-x and dvd drone?
Thank you.
Can you do flips, rolls etc. with the RF Drone sim
Yes. There at least two drones that are aerobatic and can do flips and rolls.
Where do we buy this? How much is this?
Is realflight 7,5 better? I'd like to buy.
