my wife got the real flight sim for me 15 years back an thats how I learned my first time out with a local club member an trainer after all the basics you dont learn from the sim I had my first flight an there was no transition issues at all been flying every since

That's my go to game these days. One thing though. If you didn't catch it some of the warbirds have working machine guns, bombs, and drop tanks.
When I was young, Realflight G4 had just released. My dad bought it for me and I was so excited to use it. Roughly 13 years later, i'm watching a youtube video on the latest version of it, shocked to find it looks identical graphically as that old version does.
Actually maybe watching a video on a screen looks close,… G4 to 9.5 is very far apart. 9.5 is way better. No comparison.
Ha, I remember the excitement of my parents purchasing it for me too... but for me it was just... RealFlight (now Classic). Just ordered 9.5 to teach my kid (almost 3) as he grows. :-)
I have both and really not much difference, the older versions have more user-created models that I use a lot...
Clearly not much advancement between G4 and a 15 year old computer and 9.5 with a 2021 tol computer...
I think he was referring to the general look and feel was thinking the same Phoenix sim had a much clearer updated look and feel.
That was a great review, amd just entertaining enough. Getting back into the hobby after years away, last plane I sold was my 100cc Beast. Time to get my fingers back and will be setting it up again perhaps a projector and 108inch screen. It’s one thing knowing how to fly RC but it’s time to really start honing in precision skills and learning advanced maneuvers.

Great news for anyone that had a delay issue with their realflight 9.5s Horizon hobby sent me a external USB hub and it solved the issue perfectly. Bonnie was so helpful at Horizon hobby.

I miss playing this sim. Maybe il get it for my kids as an excuse to play it again.
The hover practice in this sim is brutal.
I've found that Heli-X has a better hover practice mode. You can adjust the height and when you want to practice pirouettes, you can adjust the rate and even have it manage collective if you're just getting started.
6:32 In October 2018 I was in my local soon to close brick and mortar hobby shop and got to use the then latest version of real flight. I really enjoyed the blimp. I’m looking into making a homemade RC blimp with ducted props and moving fins as shown here. I just need to find a balloon place to make the envelope.

Excellent video. I have a question. I have the steam version. When the RF screen first loads, there are 7 or 8 pull down menus. But when the game actually begins, the menus are gone. How come? I notice that you have the menus.
What is the make and model screen is that you have?
Pros and Cons? The older system I had, I sold after a year or so. If I understand you can't resell it? Or can not even put on another pc that I have? Why do some not like steam? But prefer the disc. Thinking about getting 9.5s or 9.5 version

I have another question now sir , do you know if anyone makes a dongle to make my FlySky FS-I6 transmitter work with realflight 9.5s ???? If you do , please send me a link ..... thank you for all your help with my delay issue. I took your advice looking for a different USB hub. And it lead to Bonnie at Horizon Hobby sending me an external USB hub. I plugged it in and the delay was immediately fixed .
Why not allow us to upgrade the RF9 ?
I upgraded from G4 to 9.5 and found that there was not much improvement, and that it would not work the new computer I had just built because it would not work with my video card. RF has known about the problem for over a year had has done nothing to fix the problem. They didn't even mention that they knew about the problem when I contacted them about the issue, I found it in their website. The video card I have is a Radeon 5700xt that I bought just because it had fairly good specs and did not cost $800 to $1200 because bit coin miners were buying all the newer card I actually wanted. I think that RF isn't being updated because Horizon baught them and is just milking it for money. I ask for a refund but was denied. I am not happy with HH.
It's an outdated engine and they don't want to pay enough to get a new one developed. I'm running it on a RX 580 at max graphics and I can pull 300+ FPS out of it. I find the planes I've flown at the field that I've tried in the sim are not even close to reality. The drones aren't either. And the UI is pretty lacking. I think it would be good to teach new flyers some muscle memory and orientation but other than that I think the $100 price tag is unwarranted for what they provide.
I have the same problem with my 5500xt and my new 6600xt...it just freezes up. My Nvidia system and Laptop run it fine. I got the latest 9.5S and latest week old Radeon driver. It really sux and needs to be fixed...
Oh, Aero fly RC8 and 9 series runs great on the Radeon system...

Guys, if someone has learned to fly all jets on RF9.5 with perfection without Safe Select, do you think he is able to keep one of those foam jets from e-flite in the air in real life too as a first rc plane?
I wouldn't personally try a jet as a first plane. Get a trainer and if you can join a club.
Golden rule for simulators (regardless of how advanced they are): even the best ones are much 'easier' to fly than real life.
So get a trainer, at least a low-wing trainer (like a Trojan), before you buy that Habu.
But hey, you might get lucky and have no issues.
Fitz, what are your VR goggles? How are they?
HTC Vibe. I really like them. Better fitting with glasses than the Occulus.

It should. System requirements for the simulator are pretty basic.

Plug controller directly into computer. Don't use a USB hub.

Could it be, that laptop has windows 11 and RealFlight 9.5s needs to be connected to windows 10?
Can this be run without an internet connection after it is loaded onto your computer ?
The new version requires internet connection to install, but not to run.
@@HobbyView I have RealFlight drone, with the Interlink Elete controller by Futaba, can I use this controller with the new RealFlight sims ? I have Windows 10 home 64bit.

Perhaps you can clear up a point of confusion. The simulator provides an X-Wing model, but you flew models that were not X-Wings. Can you explain how that happened?

vERY nICE Presentation..Sir I received my RF9.5S last night (USES steam as opposed to disk..but wish they included disk) and I followed the instructions CAREFULLY..The problem I am having is once I get to Activate your Product within Steam, I hit a brickwall..I cannot find within Steam - Activate your product...I have the code etc. but cannot find where to activate...I noticed you jumped right to Activate your Product, but not the step from game to activate...uggh...at this point, I would give a right arm for that step..
Note of interest to some..I recently joined Sarasota RC Squadron and with an instructor this newbie is having no problem, so much easier to Learn and activate than Steam..HA!

HELP ME PLEASE 🙏 I just bought realflight 9.5s. Installed with no issues on steam . While watching my grandkids try to learn how to fly , I noticed that there was a huge delay from the sticks to the screen. Over a second of lag . On the ailerons, rudder, elevator, even the throttle. And all the switches on the transmitter. It makes it almost impossible to fly . It gets worse on advanced levels . I can not get any help from horizon hobby , not by phone or online or emails . 😒 my computer is equipped with more than the instructions ask for . My Dell PC has AMD Radeon R7 450 graphics card. is this my issue 🤔 if so what one do I need to buy to make this simulator work ? I updated all my drivers and cleaned up everything on my computer. And still the lag is there . So frustrating 😫 please help . Hopefully someone anyone that reads this will reply. Before I send the game back to Amazon.

Try a different USB port. If you are using a USB hub, try connecting the transmitter directly to the PC and bypass the hub. Make sure the USB port is USB 2 or greater.

(if port in PC is blue, then it is USB 3)
You can also try a POWERED USB hub to see if that works. Otherwise I'd try a different computer.
@@HobbyView thank you so much .... the conversations in blogs about this issue is that realflight stopped supporting AMD Radeon R7 450 and something about dx9 but I don't know what that means or by changing my AMD graphics card and replacing it with dx9 if that's a video graphic card , would solve the issue . But I can't get any response from horizon hobby tech support. I'm so frustrated. All their phone numbers are on a loop that says to do everything online . then it hangs up . I even called the horizon hobby in Germany, same thing . And I have sent emails and get no reply 😒

It doesn't look much better if at all than the recent previous versions. Certainly not worth the price where I live.
You can only get it through that steam thing. And DON"T remove steam after you spend all that money on this sim..... steam will take the sim and the money you spent on it with it. First hand experience here. steam is a game platform that forces you to use and online 3rd party software to use the program/sim you paid for with real money!! I got this in the mail a few days ago and yep, no cd no dvd, just a little card with a code on it. Talk about feeling ripped off!!! I have lost 2 games because of that steam thing over the years and the money I spent on them...just be forewarned. Just make SURE you have a reliable back up of your system cuz if anything ever happens to steam you will be screwed!! Oh, I forgot to add... if you ever need help with steam or chat with someone you have to put $5.00 in a wallet or something... they just want your bank info is all.
Crashing aircraft is not how you play this sim.
I have version 6.5 and there is nothing new (Except Now you have to deal with STEAM ) maybe a few more airfields and other things but the basics are enough to not spend $100's on another new version that is tied up with the Garbage STEAM!!

@@Personalinfo404 he doesn't even know. Nothing wrong with steam at all and I find it way better then most game "launchers", im not sure what you would call steam, game platform?
Dieser Schrott ist eine Zumutung! Schlimmer geht nimmer! Da kann ich nur abraten und nur eine normale Flugsteuerung und Software dazu empfehlen.
Realflight is very bad !!! No help for europe Customers !! we need german , french , spanish , italian speech !!!!

Biggest takeaway... get an external USB hub. This will prevent lag and drop connect of the controller. That is the flaw in tge design of the software
