    Just had this video show up on recommended and had a major nostalgia moment. I grew up watching you here on RUclips starting back in 2008 while I got into the world of aviation. I had no clue that you were still at it since having got back onto the RC side of RUclips in the last couple of years. It's great to see you still at it and just as passionate and friendly as ever. You were the one who sold me on pinching vs. thumbs, especially with helis. It would be an honor to meet you one day and maybe get to see a tail-rotor-less heli in real life. Happy landings! 🙂-Zach

    Thanks for the great video. I was not aware that there was such a good sim for free. Maybe you can answer this. I have Realflight 9.5s on the Steam platform. I do not have any drop down menus as you do. Do you have any idea why?

    • @NightFlyyer
      @NightFlyyer  7 месяцев назад

      First of all, I do not believe I said it was for free. And now Ikarus Aerofly RC-10 has been released on Steam. It has a far better and easier use interface with excellent drop down menus. I never got used to trying to find planes, etc as shown in the realfright sim, so no sure why yours is not working on RealFright. Maybe check out some of our online flying meeting videos and come on over. We fly every Thurs night on Aerofly using the No 1sim in Germany and Europe. Check it out. ruclips.net/video/eT0I4Q2JW84/видео.html Thanks and happy flying.

    @NightFlyyer I'm brand new to RC planes. I run Mac, so RealFlight isn't an option. I know with RealFlight, you can acquire a transmitter. Do you recommend a transmitter for AeroFly? I noticed that you use a Spectrum dongle, does that work only for Spectrum transmitters?

    • @NightFlyyer
      @NightFlyyer  8 месяцев назад +1

      Welcome to RC! If you want to learn to fly real RC planes, always start with a sim. I recommend using the same Tx as your Planes, so to get comfortable. The spectrum dongle will work with multi protocol transmitters like the Radiomaster T 16, but you can pick up a used Spektrum tx for really cheap on ebay. Some folks use game pads, too.

    Thanks for sharing this mate. I have owned Realflight sims for many years (since RF2) and currently have the latest Steam version RF9.5s. I bought RC8 +2.5 years ago and upgraded to RC9 about 6 months ago. Both sims work great for me.
    I really like using the Spektrum Interlink DX usb controller with both sims. I have used my DX18 Tx with a wireless ws1000 interface but didn’t like it. Some do prefer using their own field Tx so each to there own I guess.
    I love flying RC9 in VR with my Vive Pro headset and mainly only use RF9.5s for 3d heli and plane practice with a monitor because I feel the flight physics are slightly better (less floaty). Overall I’m glad to have both sims but if I could only have one it would definitely be RC9 (or RC8 from Steam, not much difference between it and RC8 imho). Thanks again mate and cheers.

      @NightFlyyer I don't have a discord, but I will have to check it out sometime for sure! I guess it's like apple or Samsung but people really need to see this and try the aerofly, it's pretty easy to see which one is better from the auto zoom to the user interface...its crazy how much better and easier aerfly is to Navigate then real flight. On that alone, I wouldn't pic real flight. Just watching you look for a new plane is crazy. how annoyed I'd be trying to find a plane in that list. Aerofly 10 for the win! 🏆 💯 I'll be watching more once I get my transmitter hooked up and AF downloaded. Thanks again

    What Mac are you using?
    What controller do you use with Aerofly?

      Hi Denis, Well, you will learn a lot with Aerofly, as it is very well representative of real model flying and will do the most for you. I am using Windows so cant help you with that, but it works the same on any Macs. Read about it on their website, and look on Steam to see the best computer specs for it to run well. ruclips.net/user/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqbEp4dHVXOE8ybC05RGhMdFY1VU9sZlhaMVIyQXxBQ3Jtc0trVGZyU0o0cWlhc0NHdWVNOEYtRG1uQkhtbElxMVRSeU9NekxxQXF2UWczbV9lVzNJckV3LW5MVEVkQTYxb3JOYk8wTnltcWZMTGNzWi0tWmJ3bEc3U1JTNmZkTDQwOEVjOEZYbVh1RjNqSWZnU3ozVQ&q=https%3A%2F%2Fstore.steampowered.com%2Fapp%2F1507210%2Faerofly_RC_8%2F&v=3YRpVzCYhT4
      I use an 8 gig video card, as that is the most important. Aerofly 9, is not on Steam yet, but can be seen on the Ikarus website. I know it cost more, and Aerofly 10 will soon be on Steam, but if you get any of them, they will be updated free to the newer versions. I am using a wireless dongle to connect my transmitter, which is a Spektrum NX 8. It is a Spectrum dongle, and works perfectly making the transmitter wireless and easier to move around and fly. No fancy TX is needed. I will look forward to maybe seeing you fly online with me some time as well. Sim is the best way, to learn, so enjoy. Thanks so much, and welcome to the RC world. ~Dave

    HI Dave, thanks for another great video. I'm wanting to have a new and more modern R/C flight sim on my computer now. I have an old but still working DX6I (used for park flying) and the Spectrum USB dongle. Do you think AF 8 is good enough to still enjoy (it's still available for download) and save a few dollars or is AF 9 better enough to be worth the extra amount?
    I had AF back when it was AeroFly PRO and used to fly it using my Futaba Super 7, back when the Super 7 was new and hot. However, I quit flying R/C for a while and quit using AF as well. I'm ready to get back into it now. I was just about to buy RealFlight but thought I'd better see what else was good now. AF looks like it's still the best R/C sim out there and it's looking like RealFlight hasn't advanced from where it was 10 years ago.

      Well, RC-9 is a quality product and well worth it, if your serious about improving. RC-8 is also fantastic and worth it. I know RC-10 will soon be released on Steam, and also know there is going to be a lot of even more improvements, including 20 new airplanes. In the mean time you might keep an eye on the Steam news. Hope to see you flying soon. Also, here is a video I just made on RC9, I think will also sway you. And yes this can all be done on RC-8. Free updates too. ruclips.net/video/9vWvz4kFz00/видео.html

      Hi Dave. So, I have been using AF9 now for a few days. I really wanted to be able to fly some of the actual planes I own, so like the dummy that I am, I also bought RF Evolution, and even had to buy a PC on which to run this program. I wish to add my voice to yours on this front. I cannot express enough how vastly superior AF is in almost every respect. The graphics, the user interface, the flight physics, the incredible ease of setup, the super cool aircraft. It really isn't a fair comparison. RF took hours and hours to finally get it setup. AF took all of five minutes! And the thumbnail aircraft selection, way way better. The only major downside to AF is that you have to recalibrate every time you close and start again.Having said that, this program is so superior, I can live with that. I hope this is of some value to your subscribers. Bless ya!

The other thing I notice on both of your videos: Have you set either ansiotrophic filtering and anti-aliasing settings for either sims? The jaggies in your video are driving me nuts. The fish under the water in Real Flight are distracting me, mainly because you generally do not easily see fish in water when you're at a shallow viewing angle, and they look like crude Finding Nemo charactures. Also you named a DHC-6 as a DHC2.

Real flight brags they are the #1 sim, but don't say it's the number 1 selling sim, because the Germans never had tried to get into the hobby stores here in America. I don't think you will be disappointed and you will certainly learn to fly. I have produced many other videos on Aerofly and they have been around just as long as Real Flight. From the beginning you could tell how biased he was 😂. I’m trying to decide on a sim, have been watching a lot of reviews on these two. This guy did his best to make RF sound/look bad, he wasn’t ever planning on making an honest review.

    i begun with RealFlight, it´s a good early learning but to expensive and crappy planes. the fysics motor in Real flight is so bad that even Duke Nukem has better fysics motor..
    i fly more or less only AeroFlyRC9 now, but i have both installed.

    Unlike everyone else you mention. I have the very old CSMheli sim, Realflight 2 & 8, AccuRC and neXt. CSM to old nowadays I give it a 2. Realflight is not as great as they say, I give it a 5. AccuRC is really good and I like it and I give it a 9. neXt to is realkly good and I give it a 9 to. AccuRC and neXt are very realistic. And both are very good for learning 3D. I also have Phoenix Flight sim. And I love this to and give it a 9, but the company that made it is gone, so not updates as far as I know.

      I mentioned the popular ones. If you check any of my sim vids, you would see I started with the very first RC Sim, Aerochopper by David Stern. Later I went to work for Real Flight as a Beta tester. My name is on the very first disc. You didn't mention Clear View. I liked that one too. I rate my sims by how they compare to all my real models and if the fly the same. How do you rate? I see no flying videos.

    • @Airbrushkid
      @Airbrushkid 2 года назад

      Well I rate them by how realistic the models are and how realistic they fly to the real thing. The scenery has to be realistic to, the weather.

    What I dont like about these two sims is that it's impossible to set a very high resolution in fullscreen mode that can be physically downscaled by the monitor resolution. It's due to their stupid graphics engine. You have to live with this ugly pixelation in native fullscreen resolution. I play with HELI-X. It's for helicopters but have some planes as well. The graphics there is superb. The models are crispy sharp all the time even in far distances. You can't notice any pixel aliasing on the screen.

    • @NightFlyyer
      @NightFlyyer  Год назад

      Well, if you actually have the Aerofly RC 9.5, you would know you can change all resolutions from low to ultra, shading, background resolution, shadows, trees, water, and many more including auto zoom with no pixilization. And for me, flying on a 4 k 55 inch monitor, Aerofly has the best screen view and super clear and why it why it was voted Number 1 R/C sim in Germany. I've flown Heli x and neXt. They are good, but Aerofly flys more like my real models, has the easiest way of selecting how and where you want to fly, which is how I compare flight. Not by just comparing sims. You could make a comparison video and show us too. Here is the latest one I made that you may want to critique as well, and this resolution is always knocked down by RUclips, and you can still see how clear it really is, even landing on the roof at a distance, that I zoomed in on in the editor. Hope you will take the time to watch it. Thanks for commenting. ruclips.net/video/0Olp9vgWSYc/видео.html

      @@NightFlyyer No matter how good these sims are in terms of realism, as soon as I see pixel shimmering because of forceing you to view it only on native display resolution, I won't touch those sims anymore. On a 4k 55" it looks even pixely like on a 1080p monitor in front of you. Never change the good old graphics engines. HELI-X kept it. We don't need super cool graphic effects in sims.

      @@SuperJayJoe I do not have shimmering. And I have both great graphics and great flying characteristics. I like the fact that I have the best of both. Why not come on aerofly and fly with us.

    this seems like an ad for aerofly wich make me trust the game even less. and not trusting the website is the main reason i was looking for a revieuw of it. and then the only thing i find is this 30 minute lie.
    if you want a definition of the word biased. this video is the prime example.
    (and just so you know. i am not a fan of realflight. i refuse to give that company a single cent for asking that much. making it almost impossible to use with anything except their 60 dollar controller.
    wich is full size like a real radio so it takes up just as much space.
    even though you have a computerised radio. with it's own usb cable. that works perfectly with ANY simulator out there and could probbably even be used in star citizen.
    it will not work with realflight unless you have a special dongle that tricks realflight into thinking you are using one of their controllers.
    it's a dispicably evil company.
    but whatever the point of aerofly is. it's just as evil as realflight if you have to make a video like this to try and get it out there.

    • @NightFlyyer

      I have many reviews on all the sims on my channel for over 10 years and I am not biased in any of them. I am not sponsored at all from anybody or any company.
      I only fly what I think is best for me and my students. This IS the best and won all the top awards in Germany and Europe It is a fantastic program. I used to be a Beta Tester for real FIGHT when it first came out, but when I discovered Aerofly, I never went back. But since I get all the RC mags and see all the ads saying Realflight is the best, I bit the bullet (just in case) and tried Real fight again. It is not as good or user friendly as Aerofly. Saying this German company is evil is an evil comment. If it was better, (people who know me, know I am honest) and would say so. And you do not have to trust any website, because you should know as a gamer, this program is on steampowered.com and there you can play without having to go to some website you don't trust. But you aren't doing this to learn to fly Real RC. Your just playing games.
