That scarf blowing in the wind would be chef's kiss.
When it ended , I said, "Nooooo...I want to see it fly!"
I love your sense of humor as well as clear, sparse wording. Every word moves the process forward. I don't have to filter what is important or not. As a retired teacher, I admire that.
Thank you, sensei.
Hello, I have been flying mine for the past 2 months with a 60CC 2cyl Inline 4 stroke from NGH. It flies very well and very Scale like on a 23-10 Falcon Prop. It does Loops, Rolls, Slow rolls and is Very good at Slips with it's Large rudder. A Great Buy From Legend Hobbies!
Oh. I want. To see it fly!
Behold, the Bob Ross of RC plane building.
Having built a full size Piet. I enjoyed your video. I wish mine went together as fast as yours.
Nest. I heard the full size ones are built very much like model airplanes.
@@HobbyView I have built the Pietenpol and a Vans RV-12 and yes it was a lot more like the model RC planes I have built than the RV-12. All were fun.
I have one of the four imported into the UK by J.Perkins, I`ve waited months for it!
Now complete, I have fitted the last production Laser 310 completed by Jon at the factory. Laser now closed but spares may eventually be sold by Model Shop Leeds. The end of an era.
Mine weighs a little under 26Lbs. About 8oz of lead on F1 firewall. The two cylinder probably weighs more than the gasser Fitz has installed. Keep that tail light when you assemble. Seagull models are often tail heavy at build. Try their Stearman! The tailplane is constructed like a cricket bat!
Landing gear...replace the 4mm locking set screws with 4mm cap screws. The set screws are very soft . Caps screws can be tigthed fully with more confidence. I replaced the kit wheels with air tyres which are more capable at absorbing landing shocks.
Engine runs were successfully completed this morning. All ok. I`m constricted by a local regulation which prohibits flying a model of 26lb weight near an active airport. I have to go to a flying site to the east of London to ensure compliance.
I hope to maiden the model later this week.
Heard that about Laser. Sorry to see them go.
When someone is an authority it shows! Beautiful build.
One of my neighbors owned a full size one of these when I was growing up. I got to fly it a few times. Pretty fun.
Wow what a cool build! I don’t if you’re taking suggestions for merch ideas or not but I would totally buy a hobby view themed lanyard if you had them for sale on your website😉
Oh, interesting idea!
Mine is confirmed on the container out bound to south Africa
Hope to have it soon
Still dieing to see the maiden
Interesting how much visual appeal was added by the simple little thing of painting the wheel centers to match.
Nice..mines a few hours away from its maiden.
I love your videos, Fitz. Thanks for sharing them. I almost feel like I'm mounting everything myself, and I can even smell the balsa wood and epoxy.
Maybe the only difference I would choose is a compact wraparound Pitts muffler. 👏
I have the same aircraft (still in box ), with the 63cc stinger engine, (still in box) would have liked to have seen your electrical set up, this video gave me some Ideas, especially around the wing mounts as you can see the wood after installing the mounts, so I will paint a little so it looks neater, and the tail support mounts paint black, I also have the 8" chrome spoke pneumatic wheels so that will help with the extra weight needed, my biggest plane is a 80" stick with a 30cc twin, Thanks mate , ozziebolland, Australia
If you can fly the Stick, this one shouldn't be a problem. Cheers.
He visto varios vídeos tuyos y me gusta ver como lo montas..❤
Hello, a big greeting from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
🇦🇷🙋🇦🇷
One of my fav all time planes. This and the Ercoupe
You make it look so simple. Thanks for the video
Another awesome video Fitz! Your step by steps are sooooo helpful in upping my model building skills!!
I was on the fence, bit I will now do it.
That Tow Hook is for the model pilot, so the engine start and run up are secured …
Beautiful model!! Love your channel!!! My Christmas list just got a whole lot longer,,,,,
Awsome video as always!
It shows realy well that Seagull manufactures the Hangar 9 models as alot of the details in the assembly are the same.
Great looking plane. Looking forward to the flight video.
Great step by step. Thank you!
Tip: To remove covering from the stab for gluing, try using the blade insert for your Sequre 666 soldering iron. Great hot knife that won't injure the balsa so quickly as a razor blade. Great vid, as usual, my friend.
I bet that many of your viewers could use a tutorial on how to find mounting locations for the engine and linkages. How you locate the exhaust hole in the cowl could be useful as well.
Great video! The original Model A engines did have era speed equipment available for more horsepower but you're probably right about an Air Camper towing however your Stinger might have enough power.
Yea, no worries on the model having enough power. It just seemed...wrong.
would like to see you fly em after putting them together
Patience, young grashopper.
Many things the same as my H9 1/4 Fokker DVII. Pilot, wheels, wing panel retaining set up.
Excellent video as usual. I like how you will admit those slight errors. Less confidant men would act like they thought of everything.
Great assembly vid Fitz 👍
That's almost as big as a real Pietenpol !
It's been a while since I have watched a video on r/c airplanes of any kind. Since the FAA has stuck their nose into things, plus I don't have the money to purchase all the doodads that they require so you can fly. But I enjoyed watching you assemble this beautiful plane. Stay safe!
Great build video
Good day Fitz
When can we expect the maiden video
Regards Louis
I hope soon.
very cool!
I bought one of these and a few of the parts weren’t drilled in the correct position which made it difficult to assemble. Got there in the end though.
Have you tried rubber free flight or compressed air? Much less expensive and yet open to great creativity. Of course some different flight requirements and aerodynamic chalanges.
Yes. I used to build free flight models and have a great fondness for rubber powered models.
Nice video as usual. Have you considered making a full size kit aircraft?
No, but it would be a neat project.
love it
Great video!
Homebuild? That is an arf! With a 2 hour set up at the field it should be really fun!
Er, the full scale is a Homebuilt.
I sujest you paint the muffler with black BBQ paint
Yes. Many cars need that too. I do all my vehicles like that. It never fails and cars that have visible mufflers look much better with them blacked out.
Have you thought about replacing the wheels with spoked ones?
Yes, but somewhat hard to find.
Hi, did you maiden flight? How is the new stinger 63cc ?
Hi. Yes it has maidened. But still working on getting flight review done.
should of mounted the engine about 30 degrees of and you probably not need to cut the cowl
Hi Fiz the pilot, do you think the scale was not quite right, as I brought one for my 1/3 Scale Morane Saulnier AI as I feel its to big at 22'
Cheers Robbie
Yea, I think I mentioned in the video it seemed a little big. 1/4 might be better.
Hallo Fitz
Does the spinner come included in the kit
I have one on order it should Arrive mid June in south Africa
No, I had to buy it separately off of eBay.
@@HobbyView thanks for the reply
In my current reading of the FARS I still can't find the word 'license.' Just saying...
Nice
Would be nice to have a 80" version of this plane.
Zip tie seatbelt haha!
I don't see any offset for the engine thrust-line. Is that correct?
It's built into the firewall.
@@HobbyView Thanks.
Will we see a maiden ?
Yes. coming soon
when will we see the maiden flight
Hopefully soon.
It ain’t finished ‘til you paint the muffler black!
Good idea. I just might do that.
Looks like you gave up the small electric screwdriver lol
Built before I got the new screwdriver. Video took longer to edit.
Four pounds!? I deal in ounces.
Where did you get the prop hub from?
Found it off of ebay. Seller in China.
@@HobbyView Any chance of a link please?? :)
But...no flight?
